FFS Paddy Power Cup IX and Members Cup IV – First Round Draws

We bring you the draws for the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX and FFS Members Cup IV, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the qualifying rounds for both competitions took place over Gameweek 27:

First of all, entrants with a score of 56 points or more have earned a spot in the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup IX. If you scored 55 points, it was then down to overall rank to decide whether you progressed.

Our defending champion, Tdubb05, gets his title defence underway against stocherilac this weekend. Looking at some of the other previous winners, Jonty plays djt, MCH is up against Jambo 17, Donnellyc has cflanesra, Wild Rover goes head-to-head with Chobber Slops FC, whilst Gooner Dave has been drawn against JW.

Some of the plum ties amongst the community include Chu Young Ping Pong v Acquafresca, Bubbles against Yes the Sess! and Accounting on Chris v Attila the Bum.

Four of the current top 100 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are in the hat for this weekend’s matches. Gambiteer, Justoutsidethemoney and Forbes are amongst those high-fliers as is world number two Tom Fenley, whose opponent, Alistair, currently sits around the 23,000-mark.

If you’ve qualified or just fancy a nosey, click here to view the full First Round Draw.

Entrants with a score of 58 points or more will have made their way into the First Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup IV. If you scored 57 points, it was then down to overall rank to decide whether you progressed.

Defending champion Acquafresca is up against Caladan Brood, whilst another former winner, Fuzzy Dunlop, goes head-to-head with The EJJ in Gameweek 28.

Amongst the notable community match ups, contributors Big Dunc and In Tommy We Trust face up to EpicFail and Chu Young Ping Pong respectively, whilst Dino’s clash with Bootsy and Thomass67 against Absinthe also catch the eye.

Once again, Tom Fenley is the manager to avoid in this cup. This time, he’s up against tmidrew who, with a rank inside the top 4,000, will fancy his chances of causing an upset. You can click here to view the First Round Draw.

For a list of the prizes and dates of each round, check out this initial article. As always, good luck to all those involved.

    My team is currently -
    Boruc - Davies
    Azpi - Sagna - Williamson - McNaughton - Collins
    Hazard - Yaya - Puncheon - Zaha - Gnabry
    RVP - Studge - Suarez

Gwk 28 - Gnabry and McNaughton > Bentaleb and Ward

    Gwk 29 - Williamson > MOlsson

    Gwk 30 - RVP > Aguero

Gwk 31 - Boruc, Zaha > McGregor and Livermore

Seems a good plan to me

    What r ur thoughts??

    Thx

Not bad. Just if your budget allows, Ince is far better than Bentaleb even that will mean you have 3 Palace players. TOT has terrible fixture after this, and you will gain 1 more future DGW if Palace's DGW is not scheduled on GW31.

Yea but not enough cash - mucked up my wildcard

Is it poss for palace to have a double 31??

Yes, 50% chance to have a double on GW31.

If Ince is too expensive, can you have Brunt instead? I never see anyone recommend this guy but for me, he is still better than Bentaleb and only $0.5 more

I still rate Redmond ($4.6) better than Bentaleb, due to the ease of fixture

I had Redmond starting GW1. Barkley & Coleman on the bench. Then I had Barkley starting over Redmond GW3 when Redmond scored his only goal... Held him for a bit starting him in good fixtures never did anything. He's a good player and gonna be an asset some day but I got little faith in him after that.

I know Redmond is very limited, but I still fancy him to do more than Bentaleb in the coming several gameweeks. That tell you how low I rate Bentaleb.

I'd probably pick Ince or Steven Davis (allows enough money for Kun later on) but I may as well save the FT... GW29 planning has become much less relevant than GW31

They should set it up so you can sort each column and then you could put each side alphabetical or at least put the home sides in alphabetical order anyway to make it easier. Some of us are using things that don't allow for ctrl + f

I'd rather keep Eriksen for a potential haul vs Cardiff but my plans can't take another value loss. So think I'll get Ince (swa, SOU) for the next 2. Anyone think Snoddy (avl, STO) is a better choice?

Snoddy is better short-term but Ince is better long-term. Please be reminded that CRY's DGW could be after GW31. Are you sure you will hold Ince at GW31 if this happens?

For me Snoddy is quite better than Ince if just talking about the next 2:
          - Both fixtures of Norwich are easier
          - Ince is not the only person can score for CRY (e.g., Puncheon, Chamakh, Murray) so he may perform well but his teammates to steal the fantasy points
          - Apart from Hooper, I can't see Norwich can score much from the others

I think Adam and Snodgrass are much of a muchness so go with the cheaper.

Snodgrass is the better player, but in a worse team
Adam is a lesser player, but on penalties and set pieces and a team where other people actually try and score.

      Ahh - thanks lads !
      I'd forgotten about that one.

Had EVE & CPL down on a scrap of paper for future doubles…but couldn't work out why I'd written it down 🙂

Guess that means EVE have 2 DGWs coming somewhere….
Hmmm - not enough transfers available !

They won't both be in GW31, so you should have later transfers to deal with the later one.

Those still holding a wildcard are you using it for gameweek 31? or saving for the likelihood of further DGWs?

later, it doesnt seem worth it seeing as we have plenty of time to plan for the GW31, I already have 7 DGW players in my team & there are possibly more fixtures to be confirmed

thhe only benefit I can see is if you want to load your team up for gw29 7 not be lumbered with those players but the options for that week are poor at best, it just doesnt seem worth it.

If I get Lallana, I won't be able to afford Aguero...

    Should I get Lallana? 😀

Lots of talks here since yesterday on potentially selling Hazard for GW31...

I think this is rubbish... as he now costs 11.0 and most serious players will have a selling price in the low 10... he's the main Chelsea offensive asset to own in FPL terms so losing th money and a transfer to get him back is not advisable

    Am I missing something?

You seem to not be affected by DGW madness. Nothing really to worry about.

Hazard is sellable at GW31 if someone decide not to buy him back afterwards, which is my case.

Is City midfielder a "must have" for dgw 31 if I have Aguero,Zab,Mata,Mirallas,Studge and Suarez.

really?? they have a blank in both the next 2 gameweeks - not sure now is the right time to load up

assuming aguero is fit and in form then without a doubt he is essential. i wouldn't consider any of the others to be 'must have' although yaya isn't far off

What's the best midfielder under 5mil that's playing the next two game weeks? Can't be Southampton.

Puncheon, Redmond, Brunt? Is it all much of a muchness?
