New Season Memberships Now Available

Fantasy Football Scout memberships for 2014/15 are now available for just £12.50. Last season’s memberships expired back on June 1 but you can now renew to get access to the members area.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

Currently, payments are made solely through Paypal but we expect to have a new payment method in place via Stripe, in the next two weeks.

For those new to Fantasy Football Scout memberships, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page. You can also view the 2-minute trailer below for a snapshot – an updated preview movie for this season.

Last season we were very proud to help both the winner of the Fantasy Premier League, Tom Fenley, and the Ultimate Fantasy Premier League Beta, Alex Bowers, on their successful campaigns: both were Fantasy Football Scout members.

The support provided by our members since we launched has has enabled us to continue to improve the site and we’re looking to develop the members offering further over the season – we hope to bring you news of the first developments next month.

So my work have actually created their own fantasy football website, with £1000 going to 1st place and various other prizes.

I have realised that the creators of it have made some rather strange decisions on player prices.

For example, Romero is priced at 4.0, with Orion and Andujar costing 4.5 & 5.0. (Casillas, Nueur, Cesar etc all cost 5.0)

Have spotted some other complete bargains, like Rodriguez (SWI) costing just 2.5. That is more than HALF the price of Ramos, Zabeletta & co.

I'm going to enjoy trawling through the players and finding more mistakes that they've made.

        Also, it's worth noting that midfielders don't get any more points for a goal than forwards. Both get 4 points. So I prefer going for a very strong top 2 and going slightly cheaper in the midfield.

    Yaya feels quite "meh" to me as well, but I'm struggling to find an alternative I do like.
    
    I'm not convinced by Pjanic/Misimovic as I have my doubts about Bosnia, KDB is a no go as I'm not doubling on Belgium's attack.
    
    Currently have Cuadrado in that spot, but it does leave me with 90k in the bank making me rethink the front 3.
    
    Promised myself I would only spend 30 minutes on this, I'm so gullible.

I, (like yourselves) read transfer gossip day in day out.... We generally take most with a pinch of salt.... We can work out what ones have substance or not.... We get encouraged, baffled or annoyed by said transfers.... But what gets me is reading things like this:

"Burnley boss Sean Dyche could emerge as a contender for the vacant 'head coach' post at West Bromwich Albion"

The feeling of utter astonishment.

As a Burnley fan (& football in general) why would a manger who has successfully, against all odds, leave.... Other than money & resources.....

On a more relevant topic, I have been a huge fan of this FFS site for a couple years, thoroughly enjoy the discussion, characters/members on here, the input is great & I take great advice from here.... I read constantly what are the benefits of becoming a paying member?

I mean, within reason my football knowledge & how to play FPL better is pretty solid (thanks to sites like this) but have always considered the membership, but just don't know the specific benefits...

Has anyone like me took the membership up lastly year? How did it help? How true to form is the stats to bring in a certain transfer or captain as a differential & it's paid off big time thanks to said membership?

  Here's my take on it. Someone once defined a game (any game) as "a series of interesting decisions". I find that the stats and tools available to members make the decisions of the FPL game more interesting.
  
  Being a member enhances my enjoyment of the game, not necessarily my performance (which is beyond help).

  Took it in middle of last season and can recommend it. You could also just search for stats and make comparison of fixtures yourself, but that would take a lot of time, so if you give any value to your time, the stats tools and season ticker are easily worth the price. Some articles are nice too. I like the big numbers article, and the captain sensible ain't bad either.

  The captain sensible article offered detailed analysis of the choices to help you decide. The choice is still up to the reader based on the evidence. They key part of the members areas where it actually picks a captain for you is the Rate My Team tool. That's a good bit of kit in the members area as it tells you who you should bench, captain etc ...and also does that based on any transfers you are thinking of. We update that twice a week as well to take into account latest injury news etc.
  
  Another good tool in the members area for picking captains is the comparison tool. I use that alot for my captain choices.

I hope the Premier League has a decent number of quality imports this season.

Diego Costa, Thomas Muller, Mario Mandzukic, Paul Pogba, Eliaquim Mangala, Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez have all been linked.

        Basically mate you want players who are 100% nailed on and likely to receive a score of 7 or above rating wise along with your obvious goals and clean sheets, assists don't count but are likely to contribute towards over 7 ratings and star men so dont write them off.
        
        Also you only get 4 transfers after the group stages (and the other windows) so make sure you pick players from teams you expect to progress and dont edge all your bets on one team as you could end up needing multiple transfers.

        Cheers mate. That sounds interesting. So are the rating points added to each player's score after each game? Any idea how this is calculated? I presume there's a max. amount of players you can have from each team, and is there a captain for each gameweek? Sorry for all the questions

        They get added with all the other points next day i think, ratings are just the Sun reporters view and can be quite harsh, they are generally quite good at star man (playmaking mids). Dont think there is a max from one team but i could be wrong there and no captains although after group stages all points are doubled positive and negative.

As good as Arsene Wenger is, as a coach, he is the one who should always stay away from making decisions about transfers.

How could we reject Fabregas' buy-back clause, stating a apparent 'depth' in that position. Abou Diaby is depth? Mikel Arteta is depth? Jack Wilshere is depth?

Yeah, we would sure love to get some striker, and but with the so-called transfer kitty, why not get into our team one of the best midfielders in the world? And that too, when our club fails to attract 'stars' due to that wage structure.

I've decided not to play the fox sports game but I made a team and if anyone wants a cheapish backline just take this one:

Kombarov (120k)
Durm (135k)
Marcelo (175k)
Guagua (120k)
Layun (120k) - 2 goals in warm up games and 3 assists vs new zealand in qualifying. Biggest gem of the lot!

This gives you fixtures of:
GW1: Korea, Croatia, Cameroon.
GW2: Mexico, Honduras, ghana.
GW3: USA, Algeria, Cameroon

All offer attacking returns down the flanks except Guagua at cb and he only plays vs Honduras anyway in the rotation. Clean sheet potential in every game at a much lower cost. Thank me later.
