Scout Scribbles – Sturridge Could Be Out for Season

Daniel Sturridge could miss the rest of the season for Liverpool. Hull could welcome back Mo Diame for this evening’s encounter with the Merseysiders. Diego Costa remains a real doubt for Chelsea’s trip to Leicester, whilst Nigel Pearson considers ringing the changes against the champions-elect.

Sturridge return doubtful this campaign

Daniel Sturridge’s season has been hit hard by a bevy of injuries – the latest of which could keep him sidelined for the remainder of the campaign. Speaking on the English striker’s ongoing travails in yesterday’s press conference, Brendan Rodgers insisted that the club would strive to get him back to full fitness but wouldn’t compromise his long-term health.

“When he’s been fit he’s been brilliant for the team, the key now is to see if we can get him back fit and consistently playing. We’ll see if that’s going to be this season or the pre-season. We’ll do what’s in the best interests of him; we have to protect Daniel and make sure he’s going to be here over the next number of years, playing and playing to the level that we all know he can.”

The Scout Says: In the absence of even a tentative return date, it looks increasingly likely that Sturridge will play no further part this campaign. Raheem Sterling had been the player touted to assume the goal scoring mantle in his stead, yet that didn’t transpire on the weekend, with the fleet-footed winger failing to fashion a single shot against West Brom at the weekend – as compared to Philippe Coutinho’s nine efforts on goal. Those who handed Sterling the captaincy over Eden Hazard will hope that Hull’s defence is more obliging than the Baggies’ rejuvenated rearguard. There’s promise in that respect, given that Steve Bruce’s men conceded the fourth-highest number of big chances (eight) in the last four Gameweeks, shipping eight goals in the process.

Mourinho eschews heavy rotation for Foxes tie

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho does not intend to name many alterations to his starting line-up when the Blues roll up to the King Power Stadium tomorrow night for their second match in four days.

“I don’t plan to make many changes. I know Leicester played on Saturday and we played on Sunday, but we will try to recover the players as best we can. We will leave the young players here to play their cup final against Man City so we don’t take them with us. Our squad is very short with the injuries we have and so there is no space for a lot of rotation.”

Speaking on the fitness of some of his key stars, the Portuguese boss admitted he’s unlikely to take a gamble on playing Diego Costa – in light of his propensity for injury setbacks – while Oscar was discharged from the hospital and slept at home following a serious collision with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina on the weekend.

“I don’t know about Diego Costa. I have to think about if it deserves a gamble or if we wait a few more days to be completely sure. If it was a player without an injury history I would play him tomorrow, but because he is a player with a history I have to think about that. I really don’t know how Oscar is but the most important thing is that he is not in hospital. He went immediately to his house yesterday, slept at home, and he should be arriving [today].”

The Scout Says: Considering that Costa sustained a fresh hamstring injury the last time Mourinho took a calculated risk starting him, next weekend’s home clash with Palace now appears to be a more realistic return date. As the Blues manager showed against Arsenal, though, he has no qualms over utilising a false nine system to deal with his lack of strikers, with Loic Remy also missing out this evening. Indeed, there’s a possibility that if Chelsea clinch the title by the weekend, Mourinho could use Costa sparingly for the remaining matches in order to rest his dodgy hamstrings – a real concern for the forward’s 28% ownership.

Diame could return for Liverpool clash

Hull City manager Steve Bruce could welcome back Mo Diame and Andrew Robertson to his squad for their home tie against Liverpool on Tuesday, with no new injury complaints to report.

The Scout Says: Although Diame, at best, will only be afforded brief minutes in a potential return from injury against the Reds, his reinstatement would be good news for the Tigers’ chances of survival beyond this double Gameweek. The Senegalese midfielder’s eye for goal – as demonstrated by his four in five starts at the start of the season – would augment the assist potential of the likes of Ahmed Elmohamady and Dame N’Doye, who were both subject to investment spikes last week. Owners of the duo now watch on as they attempt to unlock a Liverpool back line that’s recorded clean sheets in four of their last six. On the flipside, the Merseysiders’ relative impotency at The Hawthorns offers hope for owners of Hull’s defenders that a shut-out is on the cards at the KC this evening.

Pearson may shuffle squad for Blues visit

Nigel Pearson hasn’t ruled out enacting a few changes to Leicester’s starting XI for their match-up against Chelsea. David Nugent and Jeffrey Schlupp are still touch-and-go for the Blues clash, while Jamie Vardy needed an injection in his foot before the Burnley fixture. With the Foxes facing Newcastle United in Saturday’s early kick off, Pearson is wary of further injuries given the quick turnaround of matches:

“My focus is Leicester City, we will always do what is best for us. If we need to freshen it up, we will. We’ve picked up some injuries in games. The likes of Nugent and Schlupp will have to be assessed to see whether they are going to be available for this one (Chelsea) or the weekend… Vardy had an injection in his foot just before the [Burnley] game. We will assess it. It’s not too bad getting players prepared for this game, but of course then it becomes the situation of we have a game played earlier on a Saturday having played on a Wednesday, but that’s how it is. Of course we have to keep an eye on [the Newcastle game]. It would be remiss of us not to do that because we work heavily in conjunction with the medical and sports science aspects of the Football Club. The considerations are about our players and the turnaround of games. I’m not too concerned about other people’s thoughts.”

The Scout Says: Pearson’s soundbites don’t dispel the notion that he could rest a selection of key players ahead of the more winnable Newcastle visit on Saturday. Although the Foxes will fancy their chances against any outfit at home in light of their ongoing four-match winning streak, owners of Wes Morgan, Robert Huth and Esteban Cambiasso will pray that the head coach doesn’t spring a surprise and make a raft of changes. The fitness of Schlupp and Nugent remains a concern looking beyond the double. Leicester close out the season with an agreeable run-in that includes three home clashes (NEW, SOU, QPR) and a trip to Sunderland – validating the tactic to heavily back Pearson’s side in the first place. The Magpies encounter is certainly one that Schlupp’s ownership would be loath to miss out on, given that the Tynesiders have notched a pitiful five goals in nine Gameweeks.

Advocaat considers omitting Johnson for Black Cats run-in

Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat is considering keeping Adam Johnson out of the matchday squad until the end of the season in response to his off-field issues, citing the winger’s current mental state as a primary concern.

The Scout Says: Save for the ongoing investigations surrounding Adam Johnson, the Black Cats winger would’ve been a prime candidate for their double Gameweek 37 (LEI, ars) had he played himself back into form with a run of starts. In his absence, Fantasy managers may well turn their attention towards Jack Rodwell (two goals in seven) and Sebastian Larsson (three goals, four assists this season) in their search for midfield differentials. Connor Wickham (two in two) reaffirmed his position as a strong selection with his goal against Stoke City on the weekend, while Jermain Defoe (three in nine) will be on a few radars across the next two rounds of fixtures.

Who will be Liverpools new striker next season? They certainly need one if they want to challenge for the title as Rodgers suggests.

I'd be very, very, very surprised if there is any truth at all to that. Benzema is first choice striker for Real Madrid, why on earth would he move to Liverpool? I think he'd basically have the pick of any club he wants if he were to leave, I really can't see his first choice being to leave Madrid and the current Champions League holders join a non-Champions League club and live in Merseyside (Liverpool born and bred here so that isn't a slight).

Only reason I'd be surprised is the wages. Pool don't pay many players over 100k a week. They'd have to change it massively for him. Could sign him if they're willing to change that, but as you say he has the pick of the clubs to go to.

21 goals and 5 assists in 28 games this season in the Eredivisie. And he usually plays as a left winger.

Dutch league, so it can be a bit hit and miss but he's well worth the attention teams are giving him. He's only 21.

Which is why I was confused by the Pool links. Seeing as they have more players that can play on the wings than I can count, and that they usually use wing backs.

Realistically, it is a toughie. They refuse to pay really massive wages so I can't see how they'll get someone in with no CL football and a possible drop in wages. It will have to be from a smaller club.

I think they should take Benteke on anyways, but that's probably not enough.

I think he'd be an excellent buy.

I just don't think him alone would see them get to PL winning status.

Tbh, I think they should be considering how much they could get for Sturridge. Them injury problems aren't going to miraculously vanish.

Thats why I think Benteke might be enough. With some proper service behind him he'll get loads of opportunities and there is also Sturridge who could come in and do well.

In saying that its probably barely enough for 3rd or 4th. A title challenge on the other hand might not be within reach.

Aye, that's why I think they should cash in sooner rather than later. I know that seems weird I guess but he could still go for very good money that they could use towards another strong striker (as well as Tekkers, who I think they should go for)

Sturridge for good money? Who the hell would want him? The guy is always injured.

They need a striker with mobility to fit their style of play. Someone like Jackson Martinez maybe. But you are talking about big money for a player like that and Liverpool also prefer to buy players young.

Berardi or Mitrovic maybe. But I think they'll just go with Sturridge, Origi and Lambert and shed Balotelli and maybe Borini. The US owners will probably want to recoup some cash having spent so big this season.

You get clubs who buy stupidly, a lot of them. They could certainly get good money for him, I just don't know any clubs that are particularly in the market. He's 25, some clubs may see that as a worrying indication given his injuries, others will look at it as ample time to get over them. I don't think he ever will, but I've seen transfers of injury prone players before.

In all likelihood, I agree with you. I do think Benteke has a chance of happening. I agree on mobility as well, I can't see Martinez happening but he is realistically one of the ideal candidates, if they were willing to change their policies.

Sturridge believes he has an inherited condition that makes him more prone to muscle problems.

Whether that exists in his head or in his legs doesn't matter. He'd need to play regularly for a season before any club would pay big money for him.

They need someone reasonably mobile to play the way they want, Benteke would be a terrible idea.

I think they should try to get Ings as a solid all-rounder for back-up, along with a bigger name along the lines of Martinez or Benzema. They were after Sanchez last year so they must have some clout.

Whoever it is they need to be mobile so we don't get stuck in the exact same situation.

I don't even think Balotelli is that bad of a player, he's just a terrible fit for our system and doesn't work whatsoever as a lone striker. Liverpool need somebody who can stretch the opponent's backline, giving them the option of sitting deep to combat pace but giving space to midfield, or press up and run the risk of through balls. Balotelli likes to step back from the defense into pockets of space, but when you're a lone forward without pace that doesn't work as the defense just steps up with you. When paired with a strike partner with pace, Balotelli would likely be more effective, but that's not the system Liverpool want to play with so much invested in their midfield in such a wide array of options.

If Liverpool is really lucky Origi could well be the solution. I'm not too familiar with him, but form what I've heard and the little I've seen he's a fast striker with solid finishing ability, which sounds like just what the doctor ordered for when Sturridge is on the sidelines.

If not Origi, then them pulling out of getting Remy at the last minute is a real heartbreaker. Maybe somebody like Vietto (Villarreal), Lacazette (Lyon, maybe shooting too high with that one) or Ben Yedder (Toulouse).

Think Sturridge is best as a second striker anyway.

Here's my list (in order of preference):

Lacazette, Depay (play him up front with Sterling), Vietto, Benteke, a traffic cone, Ings.

  2. Arsenal Unlikely To Rotate For DGWK 37
    Kings of Lyon ★

    9 years, 10 days ago

I am seeing a lot of chat of potential rotation for the Arsenal DGW, but I think this just paranoia. I am by no means an Arsenal fan but from my understanding Arsene Wenger doesnt make wholesale changes for the sake of it.

In 2014 going into GW38 Arsenal had already secured 4th spot and all the hype was about the FA cup final the following week. Could Arsenal finally end the drought. Here are the teams which were fielded -

    11th May 2014 – Norwich 0-2 Arsenal (GW38)

    Fabianski
    Gibbs Koscielny Jenkinson Sagna
    Arteta Rosicky (Abou Diaby - 74' )
    Podolski Özil Ramsey (Wilshere - 63' )
    Giroud (Sanogo - 74' )

17th May 2014 – Arsenal 3-2 Hull (FA Cup final)

    Fabianski
    Gibbs Koscielny Mertesacker Sagna
    Arteta Cazorla (Rosicky - 105' )
    Podolski (Sanogo - 61' ) Özil (Wilshere - 105' ) Ramsey
    Giroud

You would think that going into GW38 with nothing to play for Arsene would have rested all his big names with the FA cup final only 6 days later. Looking at the teams we can see rotation was minimal –

    Jenkinson started over Mertesaker
    Rosicky started over Cazorla.

Now the Arsenal squad of 2014 wasn’t as strong as the squad of 2015 and Arsene does have more (fit) options available to him but I still don’t think we need to worry about significant rotation in GW38 and certainly not in GW37.

To be honest, Middlesborough players are the ones I want and I hope they make it through the playoffs. A Boro/Hull cheapie defender rotation would be nice, Boro know how to defend (Karanka was taught by the master). Tomlin would be a nice cheapie mid. And Bamford (who I think would probably be loaned to Boro for the season) would be a cheap striker with potential.

Bamford is an interesting call for Chelsea. He's 22, Championship POTY but has never played in the PL. Do they let him go on loan to a PL club or keep him as 3rd striker?

I think it depends on which club wants him. If it is Boro (who Jose can trust and where he will be 1st choice) the loan is more likely. If it is a team like Everton (who have abused the privilege of having Atsu on loan and will probably never get a loan player from Chelsea again) then Bamford would more likely be kept at the Bridge as part of Chelsea's squad.

Atsu was injured earlier in the season, was given a few chances but never played up to the standard expected of a PL winger, I think chelsea will sell him on the cheap somewhere abroad and I doubt it will impact Everton's chances of loaning another player from them

        1. Ruth_NZ

Atsu barely started a game. Chelsea refused the loan at first because they thought he might not play enough but received assurances from Everton. Assurances that have not been acted upon.

Incidentally, Atsu stood out at the World Cup as a promising young player and also received rave reviews for his performances at ACON. He was POTY at Vitesse (3rd place in Eredivisie) last season. There were many loan requests for him.

Take it from me, Chelsea are not best pleased and it will be a while before Everton are trusted with any Chelsea loanee again.

Both are attacking teams, neither a good bet for CS.

Keepers could be cheap rotation options for save points, as always. Angella is a big threat at set pieces for Watford though, and both teams have attacking full backs. However, they are likely to be severely curtailed in the top flight, and those who picked up 5-6 assists this season will more likely get 1-2 this time out, as their focus shifts to defending. Daniels can at least fall back on set pieces though. Watford wing backs are also likely to be classified as mids - Anya almost certainly will be, reducing his appeal.

Matt Ritchie is the standout, and the star man - I think he'll be a good option, as Bournemouth are likely to go for it. I don't see any other midfielders as worth it.

Deeney and Wilson are both good strikers, and their teams' main goal threat. As a Cov fan, I'd love to see Wilson do well - he's come on massively over the last couple of years, has pace to frighten anyone, and is a cool finisher. However, I think its too soon for him to make a major impact on the top flight. He'll score a few, but I don't think enough to be worth it in fantasy. Deeney is another matter - he's been a consistent 20 goal man for a few seasons now, and is a physical presence as well as a fine scorer - I expect him to adapt very well, like Holt, Lambert and Austin before him. Both sides rotate their other front players - Kermorgant/Pitman and Vydra/Ighalo have excellent scoring records this year, but none will be nailed on.

      Watford
      http://www.watfordfc.com/stats/player-stats/

Troy Deeney - 21 goals, 8 assists (leading goalscorer and assister)
Odion Jude Ighalo - 20 goals, 2 assists
      Matej Vydra - 15 goals, 5 assists

Defenders with attacking potential? No Trippiers here (not like he turned out to be a hit)

Craig Cathcart with 3 goals, 2 assists
      Gabriele Angella - 2 goals, 3 assists

      Bournemouth
      http://www.afcb.co.uk/stats/player-stats/

Matt Ritchie looks the standout option. 13 goals and 17 assists from a midfielder.

Callum Wilson - striker with 20 goals and 7 assists.

      Defenders with attacking potential?

      Steve Cook - 5 goals, 1 assist
      Simon Francis - 1 goal, 6 assists
      Tommy Elphick - 1 goal, 1 assist

I'll be considering Deeney and Ritchie, price dependent. And their defenders better be cheap, because both Watford (49) and Bournemouth (45) have conceded more than Leicester (43), Burnley (37) and QPR (44) did in their 46 matches last year.

gomes is basically the reason watford have made their late burst to sneak ahead of the pack, but yeah have to agree that he'll need a tonne of save points to be worth it as the defence doesn't look very ripe for investment (11 clean sheets in 45 games is poor), same as bournemouth.

with regards to rotation those 8 fewer league games in the premier league is a big deal i think, i can see the managers sticking with players more and basing selection on form rather than fitness.

ighalo's stats need to be used in conjunction with how little he has actually played, he's basically been the championship's harry kane. the manager even admitted he only brought him in as cover at first but he scored so insanely well that he had to re-think. his 21 goals have come in 22 starts (only 1 goal came off the bench). all three strikers seem very streaky which is a good thing for FPL normally, and fortunate for watford as when a couple of the strikers went cold luckily one was always there to keep them ticking over.

if his body lets him almen abdi could easily be watford's matt richie, again the much easier schedule in the premier league could help out here. anya despite his scotland heroics has been sub quite a lot this season, he has finished the season pretty well but worryingly for him as a pace player his muscles are playing up a bit. i blame the haggis. none of the wing-backs seem to get a prolonged run of games, compunded by formation changes meaning there is no need for wing-backs. like a ricky hatton when he was still boxing this manager changes shape a lot, bad for us probably.

there was talk that if watford got promoted that they would take a lot more precedence from the owners suddenly (owners also own udinese and granada). not sure how good a thing this is as defence wise at least the italians we get seem to only specialise in giving away penalties and getting sent off. but when it means you get a guy like ighalo who scores 14 in 10 games you can't really complain. i don't think they'll shake it up too much as this current group has built up a great spirit (last couple of seasons they'd have choked in their nearly position).

i'll leave with quotes from deeney on ighalo, he just speaks his mind which is nice:

      ighalo:
"he's the best poacher we've got at the club, I wouldn't say he's a natural finisher but he's just got a natural knack of being in the right place.
He will only get better, I think it might not be next year, probably the year after, depending what league we're in and whatever but next year I think people will be more clued into him, and that's always a difficult one because then you have a couple of people marking you, and then i think the year after he'll be better as he'll obviously be used to having two people trying to stop him getting the ball instead of maybe just the one. i think his link-up play and all that will come with it and the more and more he builds he'll be massive for the club."

deeney has always been the most nailed as he's the most complete but vydra looks really well suited to the premier league attribute wise (west brom never really gave him a chance) and ighalo is looking like the next demba ba. age wise they're 26, 25 and 22 as well so there's room for more. deeney says he prefers playing with vydra as they both know eachother's games so well. will be interesting what the manager does, having those three and forestieri means they hopefully can focus all attention and funds on improving the defence.

Can't go off conceding that many goals, it is a recipe for disaster as they found out. Still, plenty of talent at the club. They just need to buy smart.

              I genuinely have no idea.

His 2 best attributes are his penalties and his freekicks. So then they buy him and don't let him take penalties and let him share freekicks.

It is shocking when you look at it. Far too many punts. Though, to be fair, nobody predicted the likes of Lovren to do so badly. I always thought Fonte was the main man at Soton but I still thought Lovren was good.

      C) Save FT

What clinches it is that the nearer to GW37 you bring Arsenal assets in the less chance of one of them getting injured.

If Vardy and Cesc had poor fixtures it would be different. But they have great fixtures. And Costa will be back for CFC to finish Fabregas' assists.

Might be tempted by Kane --> Benteke this week.

    My thoughts on Kane:
Spurs are not that motivated seeing the start of their latest games. A bit of relaxing football and we'll see where it goes. And now they go up against Manchester City who are coming to form. Tbf, I still see City conceding but not by Harry. I think Mangala is playing very well and is keeping the strikers out of the match.

    My thoughts on Christian:
Villa start every match as if it was their last. Sherwood is a real strong motivator and Benteke still wants to prove something this season. And don't forget that Aston Villa are not at all safe from relegation and are playing teams who are.

    Your thoughts?

I really don't rate Sunderland that high. Wickham with a few shots inside the box and 2 in 2 is not enough for me. They are going full throttle, but they're not playing well.

Fair comment. Having the same dilemna myself and seeking options for the DGW without being silly about it. In saying that being silly about getting anyone and everyone for DGW's has been a successful policy so far this season. Been on the wrong end of that twice now.

I can't help but play with logic. Its all about getting the most points at the end of the day. I guess the thing in Leicester's favour was form and fixtures. A one off Sunderland GW doesn't have the same appeal.

Didn't City just concede two Aston Villa the other day? I'm sticking with Kane, purely because not owning him will more likely do harm than good, remember the Chelsea game? Benteke was not involved in any of Villa's two goals over the weekend, it's not all about him.

Tend to agree to a certain extent. Kane will keep on scoring even though the underlying stats are a concern.

          Aguero : 21
          Kane : 20

Absolutely, but then you have to consider giving up a player who you know is phenomenal, for a player who we all know is phenomenal as well, but possibly will have his confidence ruined? I mean, I think that has played a part in Di Maria's struggles this season.

Tough call to be fair. Hazard suits their style of play though. Bale might take time to fit in but certainly a counter attacking game.

Middlesbrough, would make a nice antidote to the attacking Watford/Bournemouth.

Karanka was Moruinho's assistant at Real, and it shows in their defensive record. He's also not afraid to park the bus, and beating City 2-0 at the Etihad in the Cup, as well as taking Liverpool to penalties at Anfield in the League Cup shows bus parking/upset causing promise!

2013-14 - 26 goals conceded in 31 matches (15 clean sheets). At home - 9 goals conceded in 15 matches (9 clean sheets).
2014-15 - 37 goals conceded in 45 matches (20 clean sheets). At home - 12 goals conceded in 22 matches (12 clean sheets)

So season is almost over. Who gonna be 1000% in your team on the start of the next season.

    For me:

    Hazard
Handerson (probably on penalties, play big role for team, cheap - I hope his price wont rise too much)
Kane (I think he is not one day wonder)

    1. Puyol Pants Up
      • 9 Years
      9 years, 10 days ago

I think I may avoid all three. 😛

      -Kane will be 10.5-11.5
-Will only get Henderson if cheap, but I think he will be 8.0-9.0
-Hazard will be too expensive, and could start slowly. (Similar to this season)

There are players who don't play for points but just for team value. (e.g. most valuable team has 116.1 million but is ranked 2 349 251 st)

So if I would be smart, I would create a team that accumulates a lot of team value and wait until next season to start playing seriously 🙂

Anyway, it's an idea. But I myself like the "start from scratch" part.

Everton last lost on 4th March, with four CS in that time. Agree with Joga but I could easily see Villa drawing 2-2 with Tekkers grabbing both, given his form and the team's motivation

Everton have beaten Newcastle, Burnley, Soton and an away win at QPR. None of those results were unexpected. To go away to a team fighting for survival while having nothing to play for themselves, will be very difficult.

How can Sterling and Henderson both get two assists?? Unless one of them sets up the Hull goal?

How do you rate the motivation for Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham?

They can all still finish 5th place easily. And 5th is playing Europa League, right? So there has to be some willingness to fight for the points...

In Belgium, playing CL and Europa League is important moneywise (directly: prize money, indirectly: players getting noticed and sold). Is it the same in the Premier League?

It's not really seen as a huge thing over here, in fact many people see it as a hindrance and would rather avoid it. Impossible to say whether any clubs feel that way.

Saints in 7th spot are still 7 points ahead of Swansea. All 3 will be in Europe even if they have average finishes.

I just read this part: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/apr/europa-league-qualifying-places-explained-140414.html

And it seems that the three Europa League tickets are given to 5th in EPL, Capital One cup winner and FA cup winner.

If the Capital One cup winner is already qualified (i.e. Chelsea qualified for CL), the ticket goes to 6th place in EPL.

If the FA cup winner is already qualified, the ticket goes to the runner-up. If he's already qualified, it goes to 7th place in EPL.

This means that 7th place in EPL will not get a ticket for Europa League this season. Because either way: if Arsenal wins, it goes to Aston Villa as runner-up. If Villa wins, it goes to Villa.

Conclusion: One of Southampton, Spurs and Liverpool will not play Europa League.

The rule has been changed this year. When Arsenal win 😉 ,7th place gets Europe.

Liverpool still have a chance of 4th, especially if they win tonight.

There is also more money up for grabs in the Europa next season as they have changed the ratio between Champions League and Europa.

That's true, they still have a chance. But I'm looking at the most realistic scenario to assess their motivation.

Depends on the club. Teams like Soton were in League 1 not so long ago and fans might enjoy the 'adventure'.

Teams like Everton and Spurs may reflect on this differently as it can hinder them in the PL. But really they should have big enough squads to play a much-changed team in the EL and hope it sucks in additional revenue from long-suffering supporters.
