Season Predictions 2015/16 – The View From The Scouts

Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

pretty sure sterling will massively outscore Walcott over the season due to injury and rotation for Walcott. Walcott very appealing for first few weeks though

Do u think Benteke will start? (Although I also have him in my team.. I am confused whether to make last minute change)
You could have mert in place of Kos and use .5 in upgrading other defender.. as the point gained by two wasnt that much different...
      Other wise good team..

Disagree totally, he is my 1st sub and is cheapest half decent striker so offers good value if any mid or attacked doesnt play and/or gets injured in gameweek 1. Because aggy, costa and sanchez are all predicted to be out i dont want to transfer after gw 1 because i will need to try and roll a transfer to get one of those in.

I can't handle the chopping and changing anymore....must have listened to every bit of advice and comment and now cross eyed with it all. At the end of the day, I'll end up playing the wildcard in 3 weeks so i can fit Sanchez and Aguero into the team and pros get rid of half of the squad

Last minute strategy hack regarding the Kunundrum:

    Keep Rooney and 2.5 ITB.
As soon as the GW kicks off monitor Kun-buy-ins and hit the button. Or else can just hit the button at 1 second past the deadline cos we are anyways getting him by GW3-4.

Doing it this way saves the headache of a 20 minute cameo at Pulis's West Brom.

Ya..ya... we know Kun can do it anywhere against anybody but a 90min Wayne at home to a leaky Spurs or a 20 minute Kun away to a Pulis team? You be the judge. I know what I am choosing.

    Thanks.

if you are confident that rooney gets more than 6 points against spurs and aguero gets less than 2 points against Pulis then the -4 hit is covered. for me im not convinced on either of those things happening

Fair enough. It just weighing up the risks on the day. Some people were going on about price rises and saved transfers etc. but the above negates any possible price rise and we all know Kun is worth -4 anyway.

However I have no punts in my team, all nailed safe starters so I can take a chance on this. Will get him by tracking the buy-ins before he rises.

yep seems safe. would be nice to have rooney over aguero GW2 if you were sure aguero wouldn't rise. how you calculating how many transfers in/out before you need to pull the trigger?

For now the buys per 0.1 mn as last year.. have a spreadsheet.. but a risk definitely as of now. If they have changed the price mechanism, I can still take a 0.1 hit. No issues for me on this for Kun.

Good luck to your season. Play well!
