Fantasy Football Scout Cups – Eighth Round Draws

This afternoon we reveal the results from the seventh rounds of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII and Members Cup VI as well as roll out the eighth round draws that take place in Gameweek 30.

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII reaches the quarter final stage in Gameweek 30 with Nick of Oz emerging as a key manager to beat. His impressive score of 95 in Round 7 takes him to 1,672nd place in the overall rankings and the accolade of being the highest-ranked manager left in the tournament. He faces Tap in the quarter finals, who has an overall ranking of 76,392.

The highest scorer in Round 7 was Leon Harris. His tally of 98 takes him up to 11,994 in the rankings and a quarter final clash with Fumi.

Community regular Numb marches on to set up a quarter final tie with Youth Hostelling w/Chris Eubank.

Meanwhile, konman’s giant killing exploits continue. For the second round in a row he has seen off the tournament’s highest-ranked mnager with Vodkapad becoming his latest victim in Round 7. The 64,487th-ranked manager will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of heavy hitters to conquer when he takes on the tournament’s second highest-placed manager CB8, who has an overall rank of 3758.

The full Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII Round 7 results can be found here, while the Round 8 draw can be found here.

The semi-final draw for the Members Cup sees Space Cadete take on Ola Svanheld, the competition’s highest placed remaining manager with a rank of 72,686. While GOB will meet community veteran Rasping Drive.

Space Cadete is in good shape for Gameweek 30’s semi-final match, and is already able to field a full XI despite the reduced fixture list. He may need to spend his single free transfer on back up for Southampton’s Cedric Soares though.

Ola Svanheld is just a goalkeeper change away from being able to field an XI, with one of David De Gea or Wayne Hennessey, who both miss Gameweek 30, set to be transferred out. Both these semi-finalists have Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane, the current FFScout captain poll leaders, firmly in place.

Rasping Drive has an overall ranking of 218,553. in his eighth season playing Fantasy Premier League. He also has a top 500 overall finish also under his belt but it is GOB goes into this semi-final as the favourite despite his overall ranking of 521,940...

While Rasping Drive faces taking a hit to field XI in Gameweek 30, GOB is in far better shape, as he is already able to field an XI without a transfer. However, he may need to use a transfer to cover Spurs’ rotation-prone full back Kyle Walker.

The full Members Cup Round 7 results can be found here, while the Round 8 semi-finals draw can be found here.

Can't believe so many people are so set on Kun triple captain..

I know he's the most likely to get big explosive scores but in the best case scenario his DGW34 will be new/chel whereas Sanchez/Ozil for example will likely have a DGW34 of CPL/WBA and Man Utd AVL/CPL or whm.. I know you wouldn't really want to use your TC on a Man Utd player but one of the fixtures is AVL!

Anyone else think they'll be punting on someone other than Kun with their TC chip?

Using the TC is one of the biggest decisions of the season and Kun is the most reliable option, especially when you factor in his last haul vs NEW. Would be sh*tting my pants having it on Alexis. Yikes

The way I see it is because gamesweek 35 some teams will have a blank, it makes sense for me to hold the wildcard for gamesweek 37.

If I was to wildcard now for week 34 the teams that I would want maximum exposure from that have upcoming doubles are City, Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea. 3 of those teams are very likely to have blanks in week 35.

All depends when the City double is of course but the only players I am interested in from the other doubles are Firmino and Lukaku.

For the people who are wildcarding in week 34, are you not worried about the prospect of teams in week 37 playing the bench boost with maximum Arsenal and Chelsea and West Ham players?

    Butland (DDG)
    Williams Toby Daniels (Azpi, Dawson)
    Mahrez Siggy Arnie (Payet, Firmino)
    Kane Kun Vardy

WC left. 1 FT. Worth hanging on to both Firmino (gained 0.1) and Payet (0.4 up since buy)? Considering Firmino out for Eriksen and just get him back on WC. Or would you rather ship out Dawson for Fuchs? Anyone in similar situation? Replies appreciated.

It's definitely best to hold your transfer this week if possible IMO after this weekend we will know all of if not most of the blanks in GW35 for certain and there should be some clarity on the DGW's too making it easier to plan for.
So I'm keeping unless Rose is set to miss out at the weekend

Gutted...just gutted. I'm struggling to be sociable this week.

Most of you know I'm a carer to my son with special needs. He is due to leave his school this year and move on to a special needs college with all his friends until he's 25 years old. I found out this week that they can't take him because he's deemed as not being advanced enough.

If anybody knows how to tell an 18 year old lad with Down Syndrome that news please let me know.

Ive no idea how you approach it with your son. Its going to be difficult whatever angle you take.
All I can suggest is as soon as possible get him plugged in to any other social network out there designed for young adults of your sons age so that he has time to bed in with some "new" friends before D-day.

        8 years, 1 month ago

No. No support teachers. The course now stipulates that they are expected to have enough independence to be able to cope...to a degree. My son can't talk, do money, cross roads alone (busy road right through the campus)..all that stuff. He can't do any of it. If he's have gone last year he'd have got support on the old course.

That's incredibly rough. How about private funding for a carer/support teacher? As if that aspect has been cut, then maybe it's a funding issue?

Although I'm sure you have looked at every avenue. I am sorry to hear. Wish there was something we could do to help.

Can field a full XI if I use my 1 FT. Which of the following seems most appealing:

    A) Targett to Kompany since he seems to have lost his place

    B) Bellerin to Kompany since he's not playing and Arsenal defensive form is poor (Although Arsenal do have an upcoming DGW along with City)

    C) Ozil to Silva (Again, Arsenal upcoming DGW makes me doubt this move)

Only thing making me think about keeping Targett is the fact that whilst he isn't playing, he at least MIGHT start, which would give me 1 player possibly getting minutes on my bench for if one of my starting XI doesn't play, whilst at the moment I'd have no playing bench if I kept both Ozil and Bellerin and sold Targett.

    Opinions please?

How many DGW players in GW34, minimum, do you think you would like in order to save the WC for GW36?

9 for me to, if I triple captain in week 34 then 9 is more than enough

Vardy and Mahrez have Sunderland in week 34 as well so 9 dgwers, 2 single wirh good fixture and 1 triple captain.

      3 with 4 FT.

Is 7 enough without taking a hit?

I think 9/10 is a good ball park, but we need to see the fixtures - it may be that you optimise your potential over 34 and 35 by having a couple less DGW 34 players and a couple more with solid SGW 34 fixtures and good 35 fixtures. The danger would be taking 34 in isolation when 35 is just round the corner

not sure about that one - Ivanovic might be a tad expensive for setting up the optimal DGW34/37 teams. Thinking focus should be on mids + forwards. I have both by the way 😉

    Afternoon chaps!

This is how i line up for GW30:

    Butland

Smith // Van Dijk // Simpson

    Ayew // Alli // Yaya // Mahrez

    Vardy (c) // Aguero // Kane

    Sub: Rangel

    ...i'm good to go, right?

I mean, that forward line faces off against Newcastle, Norwich and Villa; i mean, that's tastier than the prospect of a Maccy D run on a massive hangover.

I save a transfer and reassess the sitch once the dust settles on the rearranged fixtures, yes?

I’ve been planning on getting rid of Sanchez for a few weeks but recently he has delivered some points. As I’ve held on this long would you now keep with DGW’s coming up.
I was all set on doing Sanchez to Yaya/Silva or Eriksen but now debating whether to swap Def Koscienly to Kompany or other? (open to suggestions). Appreciate your thoughts thanks.
I currently have 10 players for GW30 will be 4-3-3.

    Forster
    Simpson Wimmer Williams
    Arnie Siggy Mahrez
    Kun Kane Vardy

    Elliot Sanchez Koscienly Azpi Antonio

    (from bottom of last article)

Anybody planning to play 15 DGW'ers in GW34, without WC first ?. It's theoretically achievable without taking hits or fielding less than 11 this GW, if you currently have 3 City and 3 Newcastle players in your squad, plus 4 other potential GW34 DGW'ers on your bench, and have a FT to roll over this GW.

      Nah.
I'm TC only for gw34. And WCing to BB for 36. So won't need 15 players for 34

The LOLS on FFS between BB 34&37 will be epic

it's strategy what requires a lot of luck with fixtures, injuries and suspensions, that is unlikely to work out IMO.

Why would anyone have 3 Newcastle players in their squad?!

If you count the points loss from inferior players (NEW) I am not convinced the points gained from BB is worth it.

BB is worth 12 DGW BB is 24

Is the extra 12 ever worth a WC or inferior players stinking up you team for weeks?

Boll#×, got 2 FT. A shame to waste the real free but none of these lot will be in a DGW side. Best available 6.3m mid this GW, for Lingard, who's not so nailed-on, and 2.1m or lose the real free ?
