Double Gameweek 33 Confirmed for Palace and Everton

The Premier League have this afternoon confirmed a new date for Crystal Palace’s home clash with Everton. The pair will now go head-to-head at Selhurst Park on Wednesday April 13, meaning they will play twice in Gameweek 33.

Palace will host Norwich prior to the Toffees’ visit, whilst Roberto Martinez’ men also face a trip to Watford beforehand.

Both clubs now face back-to-back double Gameweeks in 33 and 34 before being handed a blank the following weekend due to their FA Cup semi-final date.

Everton also have to play twice in Gameweek 37 (lei &sun), handing them a trio of doubles in the final seven rounds of fixtures. Although just one of those six matches across their doubles is at Goodison, investment in Romelu Lukaku is set to intensify – nine of the Belgian’s 18 league goals this season have arrived on the road. The likes of Ross Barkley and Aaron Lennon will also hold extra appeal in light of the announcement.

Interest in Palace’s prospects will also be on the up, though they then face back-to-back trips to Arsenal and United in double Gameweek 34 prior to their blank. Furthermore, the Eagles have scored just 16 times in front of their own fans – only three sides have netted less – and have lost six on the bounce at Selhurst Park.

The confirmation perhaps adds a little more weight to the idea of wildcarding in Gameweek 33 now as we look to take advantage of both clubs’ schedules. With many still holding Bench Boost and Triple Captain Chips, today’s news just made things a little more interesting.

Hi....any views on this wildcard team for gw33 and bench boost?....think it needs a hit to get full team out for 35 and should be OK for 11 dgw players 37.....how does it look?

    Robles Elliot
    Smalling koscielny cresswell sakho Simpson
    Sanchez Ozil firmino Barkley lanzini
    Lukaku Kun Deeney

Guess gw35 transfers would be Deeney smalling and someone else out...maybe Defoe and azpi in...

    How does it look....thanks

Another wc team to add to the many being posted

    DDG Mignolet
    Smalling Rojo bellerin sakho janmaat
    Coutinho Payet lanzini Ozil mahrez
    Aguero lukaku welbeck

Wc 33 bb 34 then 2ft in 35 brining in 37 dgws to get 343.

Truple united defence seems expensive, eggs in same basket and Rojo prone to injuries/rest.

Not sure Liverpool can keep cleanies and Janmaat hasn't done anything to warrant attention.

Mid is okay and Wellbeck could be a decent diff.

Uniteds two home fixtures ate very tempting. I'm not seeing better options for clean sheets in the doubles. City are a mess, arsenal centre backs will be rotated. Smalling nailed and when fit Rojo is also nailed.

Janmaat I agree. I had been holding Simpson and should price changes dictate I'll go back to him. Janmaat worth a punt over him with two home games if I can afford him.

As for Liverpool, not doubling up on attackers, and they look to me like the best option to get a double and also a good fixture in 35 (NEW).

Looks good overall. I would rather Sanchez in that midfield but presume money an issue for this. Man U should do well in defence in 34 but a triple up? Swap one utd def for an arsenal maybe gives you another ready to go in 35 also

      1. Pie-o-My

Can't get another arsenal. Have bellerin Ozil and welbeck. I'd love to be able to squeeze sanchez in but money is the issue. I think it weakens the defence far too much when I've tried it. I just don't see the value in some of the cheaper defenders like Brom as I can't see a cs from them

Looks like Robles is nailed on, given that Howard is leaving at the end of the season. But general consensus, is that Howard will play the last home game (GW38 NOR) as a farewell send off... whether this is how Martinez sees it, may be a different story of course.

Revised WC team for GW 33, BB in GW 34.

    Would appreciate your thoughts. 🙂

    Mignolet (Hennessey)
    Simpson Sakho Ake (Rojo, Gabriel)
    Sanchez Payet Ozil Firmino Bolasie
    Aguero Lukaku(C) (Mitrovic)

Deciding between keeping Alli or using Bolasie as a placeholder for his 2 DGWS until GW 35.

    GW 35:
    Payet---> Mahrez
    Bolasie---> Alli
    Lukaku ---> Kane

He's averaging 2.5 points over the last 10 gws and that includes 2g 1a. Bad as it is, and would be awful without those attacking returns, which are far from guaranteed.

      WC33 change after EVE/CPL update:

      Migs, Henn
      Clichy, Bellerin, Reid, Jags, Rojo
      Sanchez, Payet, Firmino, Ozil, Milner
      Kun, Rashford, Lukaku

Any sign of Rash not playing double then could do Payet to Lanzini and Rash to Martial.

For 33, whittled it down to:

Leaning towards B tbh, though a Rooney return would decide it.

Any glaring loop hole in this plan? WC33, BB34, TC37 (though scared about what damage could Kane and Mahrez do from gw 33 to 37)

        Ddg, Elliot
        Funesmori, Dann, Olsson, Clyne, Bellerin
        Sanchez, Payet, Firmino, Wijnaldum, Lennon
        Aguero, Lukaku, Deeney

        33 - 4 dgw players
        34 - 15 dgw players
35 - 10 players without any hit (may take one hit)
37 - 11 dgw players without any hit

probably sanchez but bolasie allows for budget to be invested elsewhere

don't like palace 2nd dgw though too much, first looks great

True. I could get Sanchez for Bolasie in GW 34. But cash is tight. Can't afford any price rises.

This is my third year on FPL, and I guess with it being the first year with chips, this whole planning for DGW and chips is completely new ground? is it the kind of thing that other games have done in the past? I guess ill im just gonna spend a lot of time looking at the fixtures, and then make my own plan.

do you think TC or BB should be GW34?

          The planning is always there.

The wildcard card change is affecting things more than the other chips. A lot of us aren't used to having one so late.

I'm one of those saddos whose always had my WC going into final 10 games, always served me well if I remember correctly.

Hard to change a plan? Feel for those without a WC.
