Fantasy Football Scout Cups – The Finals

This afternoon we reveal the results from the final of the Members Cup VI and also find out which two Fantasy managers will compete in the final of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII in Gameweek 32.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII semi-finals Leon Harris defeated konman to set up a final encounter against Numb, who beat Tap in his semi-final by the narrowest of margins.

Numb needed overall rank to see him through after both he and Tap scored 84, thanks largely to their captaincy of Harry Kane. With an overall placing of 27,046, Numb out-ranked Tap’s 29,676.

In contrast, Leon’s victory was more straightforward thanks to his savvy use of the triple captaincy chip for Harry Kane. The Spurs man’s 48-point haul gave him a Gameweek 31 score of 100, which left konman’s very respectable 80-point total for dust.

Despite an overall rank of 2,842, Leon goes into the final as the underdog. After transferring out the injured Vincent Kompany for West Brom man Jonas Olsson in Gameweek 31, he only has one free transfer remaining. He has also used all of his chips, including the second wildcard.

In contrast, Numb, who already has two top-500 finishes in his six previous FPL seasons, has two free transfers, his second wildcard and two Chips (Triple Captain and Bench Boost) at his disposal. With the winner receiving £200 in Amazon vouchers, compared to £100 for the losing finalist, he may well decide to cash in one of his chips to give him an advantage rather than look to boost his overall rank of 27,046, by saving them for the upcoming double Gameweeks.

For Leon, his key differentials include Manchester City’s David Silva, who faces Bournemouth, and Arsenal’s attack-minded full back Hector Bellerin, who takes on Watford. Meanwhile, Numb has Yaya Toure as well as Mesut Ozil to call upon.

In the Members Cup final, the 17,771st-ranked Ola Svanheld defeated community veteran Rasping Drive by 83 points to 76. He earns a £200 Amazon voucher, while Rasping Drive, who is ranked 129,606, takes away a £100 Amazon voucher.

After using his triple captaincy on Harry Kane in the semi-final to good effect, Ola declined to use his remaining bench boost and second wildcard chips to achieve victory in the final. Assists from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dimitri Payet proved the crucial difference for Ola, as both he and Rasping Drive captained Harry Kane and had the likes of Swansea skipper Ashley Williams cemented in their sides.

Congratulations to both our Members Cup finalists and good luck to Leon and Numb in Gameweek 32’s Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII final.

Mirallas is going to be the player who scores the most in GW 33. You heard it it first.

Barkley and Coleman in on WC this week

2FT for 34 I'll have a choice of swapping them for

    Smalling and Milner

    Rojo and Coutinho/Firmino

Should know the best combo then

It will be WHM or EVE mid to Mane, because there will be not enough room on the bench.

It's just to many must own mids like Payet, Ozil, Sanchez, Liverpool and Everton mid. Also we're no sure how Rooney's return will impact ManU frontline. Will one of Rushford or Lingard be dropped?

I think they'll be dropped before Mata is. Though it's all pretty unclear given LVG is so erratic.

OK - will try a RMWCT:

    Robles-Elliott
    Bellerin-Clyne-Delaney-Janmaat-Simpson
    Ozil-Payet-Sanchez-Bolasie-Barkley
    Aguero-Lukaku-Mitrovic.............

with 2.2 ITB to upgrade Palace or Simpson for something in GW34, likely a Liverpool guy once they give some indications of who is likely to play.

...yes I know the last name is possibly madness and I have 3 Magpies but I think Newcastle at home will at least give games a right go.

That FFS Cup semi-finalist giving Kane the triple captaincy and getting 48 points out of him is a perfect example of why the chips aren't harsh on 'casuals'. If he asked us if it was a good idea, we'd have told him that he was an idiot.

Although Sturridge has been injured for most part of this season, he's scored in the two recent games that he's played in. He usually scores when he plays.

Liverpool has 2 DGWs and no blanks.

I think he could well be the Benteke of the DGW from last season. Can see a huge haul for him there somewhere.

A case for Sturridge in our DGW teams surely?

Nice price point, but do you think he would play both games in a DGW, even if fit? Especially if they're still in the Europa League?

I'd then have to sell one of the DGW 37 strikers for him and again get back that striker for 47. Not ideal.

With Sturridge, I can ride thriugh this smoothly.

The fwd's im considering for wc in gw 33 are: Aguero, Kane, Lukaku, Sturridge, Welbeck and Martial.
Lukaku is 100% secure in my team, the other two will be probably Kane and Aguero, and Sturridge is the one who has biggest threat to get into front 3 form the rest of those.

Depends how he does this GW vs a soild Spurs defense.

Good show from him and I'd be very tempted.

That's why I'm waiting to wc in gw 33. No show from Aguero vs Bournemouth and his two away games in gw 34 already seem less appealing, considering that City have struggled away. It would be big budget boost.

Thinking about it, what I *might* do is leave the door open for a one week Kane > Sturridge GW34 transfer. It would mean I get to see how Sturridge fares against Stoke and Dortmund first....

Recently back from injury, but 1 goal and 1 assist in first 30 min back, then he blanked playing 59 min. Next 3 is Palace (H), Arsenal (H), DGW Leicester (B) and Watford (H).

        Cech, Robles
        Kos, Rojo, Sakho, Janmaat, _____

I had Clyne in that space but I may leave a Pool spot open to get Sturridge for GW36/37

so now I have 11.1 for a defender and mid, but at least one must play GW35

Liverpool are a minefield for GW33-35 with those two Dortmund games and playing every 3/4 days. Genuinely thinking of selling Firmino on WC. Would be far more interested in Liverpool attack in GW37, especially if out of Europa by then.

Mignolet appears safe. I'm seriously struggling to commit on any of the others. Tis frustrating, because on paper you can't argue with two doubles and good games in 33 and 35. Maybe I am looking too deeply into it but I can see disappointment in relying on these guys.

But going without a City player with KDB back is too big a risk I think. Happy to go without their defence though.

I actually fail to see the risk the more i think about it.. if someone who has started 7 of the last 8 games doesn't look to be very much in favour then im not sure what does.. Arsenal have only league matches to play in their title race and no reason to rest anyone from here on in and then we come to the price.. 4.3

WC GW33, draft #23,456. I finally like it. Though tight 0.0 itb doesn't promise much.

    De Gea Robles
    Bellerin Gabriel Rojo Janmaat Simpson
    Sanchez Payet Firmino Lennon Mahrez
    Kun Lukaku Kane

Got 13 DGW's stuffed in, but still got a hold on Kane and Mahrez (leading ML). Lennon can become Lanzini or Lingard ahead of 34 if necessary. Gabriel is certainly the best for 4.3, even if he played just one game. I think Sanchez is about to explode and I'm just too scared to go without him. Thoughts?

You won't have GK in Gameweek 35, Everton and MU both have blanks, currently I have got De Gea and Elliot but might change to Cech and Robles as I've got Paul Dummett penciled in already and 2 NEW defenders seems a risk 🙂

Likewise views on Sanchez. So much so I'm very tempted to WC this week and armband him. If he gets a haul this week he'll be in majority of WC teams so trying to catch it before that transfer train starts.

Yeah. But might be wise to just minimize the risk and wait until GW33, then cope with the potential price rises by by downgrading Janmaat to a cheaper option.
