The Community Round Up

After the rollercoaster ride that was double Gameweek 34, the community has barely time to catch breath as it prepares for another round of fixtures and looks towards a further set of double fixtures later in the season. Our community writers and hot topic posters were full of advice to help get the most out of the remaining fixtures, while our Members tables look at players to avoid those to take a punt on. Finally, we see how the six-day Gameweek 34 affected the standings in our community leagues.

The Community Articles

Following their capitulation at home to Tottenham on Monday, Stoke fans are among the most pessimistic heading into the weekend. To find out which other fans are downcast, Bolivian Seaman was on hand with his regular look at the fans forums.

For those playing the Indian Premier League Fantasy game, Juggos kickstarted a new discussion on the competition.

Finally, look out on Monday next week when Lateriser12 will launch a new Rate My Wildcard Team Surgery to help those still with this chip to play. This should also prove useful reading for those looking to scout some good double Gameweek 37 options.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

With six teams missing a match in Gameweek 35, there are slim pickings for the community’s squads. There was plenty of advice on tackling this limited fixture week in our Gameweek 35 survival guide. Liverpool’s rotation, as they juggle Europa League commitments with the Premier League, is a key problem to navigate as our hot topic on their high-scoring, but too-often-benched stars showed.

A disappointing Gameweek 35 could potentially jeapardise the huge gains in rankings many in the community made from the week’s double fixtures. Among those to do particularly well in Gameweek 34 was La Roja, who breached the 200-point Gameweek score mark, albeit with the help of a couple of points hits. Just 22 other FPL managers managed to beat his tally of 201.

Gameweek 37 sees the next set of double fixtures, and according to Giggs Boson’s look at the key picks for that week, planning needs to start now.

With just four Gameweeks to go, Balders has been taking a look to see how this season’s key players square up to FPL’s all time greats. On current form, he believes it will not be long before Harry Kane joins this elite group.

We also asked for your favourite players of this season so far, which revealed some notable differences in terms of the top scorers and those players who hold a special place in the community’s affections.

Finally Rupert the Horse and AZ revealed some spooky coincidences over the last few seasons in terms of their overall ranks. They insist that they are actually two different people, despite what the rankings say.

The Members Tables

Bbagins79 has been looking at strikers to avoid in his latest table, which focuses on those who have accrued the most bad touches and missed numerous chances in recent weeks.

For those looking for double Gameweek 37 assets, my latest goals imminent table has a number of players to consider who could be on the cusp of a points haul.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

In addition, with blanks and double Gameweeks now here it is wise to sort by matches rather than Gameweeks to give a fairer gauge of form,

The Community Tournaments

In the FFScout moderators and contributors Evs has retaken the lead from Andy, who drops to second. Just four points separates them.

Ralf Buckenmaier has regained the lead in Red Lightning’s Top 10k Any Season . This league now has 16 teams in the FPL top 1,000. Last week’s leader James Ollerenshaw dropped to ninth, with all eight above him playing their Bench Boost chip.

Meanwhile, In Red Lightning’s January to May League Nial Akata has retained the lead.

Zophar hit the top score in Gameweek 34 in TorresMagic‘s Last Man Standing competition, with 170. There are now 29 teams left after 21 were eliminated when the safety score was set at 149.

The Going Out With a Bang, set up by Kings of Lyon to find out how important chips are during the run in, has a new leader. With a Gameweek score of 168 points, Elan Dreasmich is now in first place with Daniel Kemp dropping to second. Elan took advantage of the Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 34, having Wildcarded in Gameweek 32. Further analysis of those riding high in this league can be found here.

The  second sets of BaldersWimbledon Doubles semi finals saw Still Unsure and Mr Alex level their tie against Blue Lion and Gloria Kanchelskis with a combined score of 324, while Spectrum and Newton1982 notched 303 to make it to the final in two sets.

In Balders’ Grand Playoffs World Series Hooky won the third match 165 points to 156 against Mr Flibbles to take a 2-1 lead in this best of seven series.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spread sheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Klopp is considering leaving Sturridge on the bench and playing Firmino up front tomorrow against Newcastle at Anfield. #LFC (James Pearce)

“Very important we’re in UCL Semi Final but that doesn’t mean we’re not worried about BPL. The best way to prepare for Tuesday is to beat Stoke, to score goals, keep a clean sheet and that will help us prepare. Every game is different, we need three points to keep our options to finish third. Injury risk is always there. See the big teams, they are involved in both domestic and european titles. If you want to be a big team you must want to be in every competition. The semi is big but we must also finish high.”

He's gonna play judging by these comments

Think that was because Chelsea have more options up front and on the wing. With Oscar on his way out in the summer, it looks like RLC will get more game time

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but these are WBA's conceded goals this season:

    From forwards: 13
    From midfielders: 23
    From defenders: 5
    Fom own goals: 1

Forwards to score 2+: Lukaku (GW7), Wickham (GW27)
    Midfielders to score 2+: Yaya Toure (GW1), Mahrez (GW11), Ward-Prowse (GW22), Sanchez (GW34)

Putting me off Kane. He was in red hot form the last time they met aswell, yet he still blanked while Alli score. Thinking Alli might actually be the better captaincy option here.

Yes he is, I'd bench Kos if that wasn't my expectation. I reckon Sunderland will score

If you're in 3rd spot, back from 1st by 49 points. 1st is going Kun(C) since he doesn't have Kane. 2nd is going Kane(C). Who would you give the armband to?

    A) Kun
    B) Kane
    C) Sanchez

Thinking I need to take a hit too! 😀 But where? 1.1 in the bank.

    Migs (Robles)
    Bellerin Sakho Fuchs Clichy (Smalling)
    Sanchez Iwobi Coutinho (Payet Lanzini)
    Kane Kun Mitro

    0.1 off that Lanzini->Alli move 🙁

Mitro to Defoe, Smalling to Kirchoff/PvA, or Lanzini to RLC, maybe?

It's a tough one really. Clichy is the one at most risk. Mitro might be benched too but will come on surely

So, Kane 90 min vs Kun 65 min...Thoughts? Thanks.
