The Community Round Up

With the Euro 2016 tournament just hours from getting underway the community is full of advice on the best transfers to make, strategies to adopt and teams to focus on. Our hot topics take a look at a wealth of issues from Cristiano Ronaldo’s chances of success to Dele Alli’s position on the pitch, while this week’s new Members tables offer further statistical insight to achieving Fantasy Football success during the tournament. Premier League transfer speculation is never far from the community’s thoughts and this week a potential exodus at Leicester comes under scrutiny.

The Hottest Topics

The build up to tonight’s launch of Euro 2016 created a whirlwind of posts on best players and strategies to adopt across the various games taking place.

Chat earlier in the week focused on the best players with dead-ball duties to consider, following an update to our Set Piece Takers page, which takes into account the main men for corners, free kicks and penalties for all 24 contestants.

One of the most popular players mentioned in our Euro 2016 must haves discussion was Ronaldo. But as we later discovered, his price and Portugal’s lack of attacking intent during qualifying are deterring many from investing in the Real Madrid man.

We also assessed the likely victors of this year’s tournament, which in previous years has been won by outsiders such as Denmark and Greece. In addition the security of players’ starts also came under our gaze.

For those playing the official UEFA Fantasy game raff97 was on hand to run the rule over the best time to wildcard, while DMCQT offered his top tips for success in this tournament long game and TorresMagic offered a useful reminder of the rules around substituting players.

With England kicking off tomorrow Ludo is keen to see Dele Alli join his Spurs team-mate Harry Kane in the attacking third. While Johnnski 0. Polska Wyborowa considered how relevant friendlies are to assessing whether a team will do well during the tournament itself.

Domestic football issues are never far from Fantasy managers’ thoughts, even though there is still more than two months to go before the Premier League season kicks off.

Eden Hazardous has been weighing up the merits of Chelsea’s striker Diego Costa, compared to Manchester City’s main man Sergio Aguero. A potential exodus at title-winners Leicester has been another source of debate. While we looked at Jamie Vardy’s potential move to Arsenal, Meinhoff also considered the nightmare scenario for Foxes’ fans if his team-mate Riyad Mahrez also follows him out the door and down the motorway to join the Gunners.

Parm dropped by with the full skinny on the baseline bonus point review, which looks at the Bonus Point System allocation in the Fantasy Premier League once goals and assists are stripped out.

Finally, there was some dramatic changes in our update on 2015/16’s end of season Hall of Fame Standings, where just one of last year’s top ten survived what proved to be a tricky season for many.

The Members Tables

To accompany our Set Piece takers page update to take into account Euro 2016 I’ve also created this table looking at the best corner takers, free kickers and penalty specialists. For those playing DraftKings I’ve made this table focusing on the key stats needed for success.

Set pieces are also the focus of AnguisTeam table covering statistics such as corner conversion and the conceding of penalties.

Balders, meanwhile, has taken a look at the players with the best goal involvement statistics.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

It's definitely polarising. I quite like some of your flair picks (Srna, Forsberg, Janko) but it seems like you could easily save some money in defence by replacing Evra with Rami and Alba with Juanfran then use the excess elsewhere.

      1. Cpt Crunch Scott talent
        • 10 Years

Ah but the idea is to captain dfenders and hope for a goal or an assist plus a CS on one of them.

        1. Lawrø
          • 12 Years
          7 years, 11 months ago

Now that is interesting! I like captaining defenders in DGWs and there definitely is less risk with the substitutions and captaincy changes in this game... I still feel like the optimal strategy is to captain the high ownership captains but this should be fun for you! 😀
