The Weekend Team News

Romelu Lukaku is set to return to full training ahead of Everton’s clash with Bournemouth. Olivier Giroud remains doubtful as Arsenal host Chelsea, whilst Daniel Sturridge is a slight concern for Liverpool’s Anfield encounter with Hull.

Here’s the team news so far…

Olivier Giroud faces a late test on his ongoing toe complaint ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea. Arsene Wenger has also conceded that Aaron Ramsey looks set to remain sidelined until after the international break.

Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum are available for Liverpool’s home match with Hull after both were left out of the midweek trip to Derby as precautionary measures. Jurgen Klopp revealed Daniel Sturridge “should” be available after missing three days’ training, whilst Joe Gomez has stepped up his recovery from injury but is not yet fit for selection.

Xherdan Shaqiri has stepped up his recovery by returning to training ahead of Stoke’s clash with West Brom. Mark Hughes confirmed the Swiss international will be assessed after being sidelined since Gameweek 1. Jon Walters is a doubt for tomorrow after missing the midweek cup loss to Hull due to an ankle problem.

Middlesbrough pair Christhian Stuani and Jordan Rhodes have both recovered from minor injuries and are available to face Spurs at the Riverside.

Kasper Schmeichel has recovered from concussion but remains a minor doubt for Leicester’s trip to United with a muscle problem. Nampalys Mendy and Matty James are still sidelined and Marcin Wasilewski is suspended after being dismissed in the midweek cup loss to Chelsea.

Winston Reid has been passed fit by the West Ham medics ahead of Sunday’s encounter with Southampton.

Scott Dann has been ruled out of Palace’s clash with Sunderland, with Alan Pardew revealing he could also miss the Gameweek 7 encounter against Everton. James Tomkins is available, though, after recovering from the knee problem that forced him off against Stoke on Sunday.

Ronald Koeman expects Romelu Lukaku to return to full training today ahead of Everton’s clash with Bournemouth. The Belgian has stepped up his recovery from the toe injury that forced him off in the home win over ‘Boro. James McCarthy and Darron Gibson should return in around three weeks.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Does anyone know if Lukaku is training with the 1st team today after breaking his toe nail?

I watched Koeman's press conference and he said we'll see if he can do full training tomorrow - he didn't confirm.

Koeman said if he makes full training then he'll be ready for the game.

    Start Pickford(CRY) or Foster(sto)?

Bear in mind that Sunderland are useless and Stoke look awful.

I just thought Pickford would be the clear-cut choice. You say Foster? I'll check the CS odds when I get home, that usually decides it for me.

Same decision. I'm going for Foster I think. I'm sure there are stats that show Pulis actually parks the bus more away from ohme than at home. Palace just scored 4 and are a counter attacking team too so often score away. That's my reasoning anyway

The initial management of an adductor injury should include protection, rest, ice, compression, and elevation. Painful activities should be avoided. The use of crutches during the first few days may be indicated to relieve pain. Use of steroid injections is controversial in adductor strains, because the potential exists for tendon rupture if the steroid is injected into the tendon itself. Obtain consultations as appropriate to rule out differential diagnoses.[

Do not advance the athlete too quickly back to his/her sport, as the injury may become a chronic condition. Acute strains easily can become chronic strains if proper time is not allowed for healing. Chronic strains are much more difficult to manage.

Hull have some pretty good fixtures coming up.
Friend (4.5) is in danger of dropping in price, so I may do a sideways move to get a Hull defender in for my bench.

Any recommendations for Hull defenders, apart from Curtis Davies (5.0)?

He seems to be nailed on. Could be decent bench material right up to Xmas.

could be more than just bench material. Tasty fixtures from GW 8 onwards and does have some forward threat at times, just did not translate that into any fantasy returns yet

Who to start in a 3-5-2?

      Need a decent goalie
Not sure on that defence at all
      Midfield is hit and miss
Too much money on front 3

      Firmino > Mane at least

Worth bringing in Holebas on a WC and bench him? Unless he's out for more than one week.

Yeah. One week out is not bad. Other option for my team is Ogbonna but I'm not feeling too confident.

I honestly have no idea why people are getting rid of him on a wildcard. It's crazy. You have to think more long-term than one bloody week.

They can keep 4 cs in 5 coming games also he's not out for sure yet. Wait and see. Keep your eyes on Evans

Well that was a great WC pick
    Thanks Masuaku

So I will have to play Mcauley

With only Rodwell and Amat on bench should I take Masuaku out for -4?

Don't take the hit. Not a bad week to play McAuley.

He was a nice differential on my wildcard I though, got me 0 points in 2 weeks and is now injured 😀 I wanted to sell him for Holebas for a -4 but he is injured as well it seems, and Pieters is my defender on the bench, who is also not certain of starting, oh God....
