The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Third Round Draw

This evening we reveal the managers who have made it through to the third round of the 13th instalment of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this latest contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

Last year’s winner I Casillas Winning’s score of 55 saw him overcome Tufs to set up a round three clash with Allezlechef. Just 10,000 places separates this pair in the overall rankings.

Gribude is another former cup holder to make it through. He beat Allgonepozzo in round two and faces Cok3y5murf next.

Ex-champ MCH also progresses, after seeing off Shem Bayley. He takes on community regular Rhinos in round three.

Sadly, the second round marked the end of the road for another former winner, Ninja Fit Saints, who was beaten 70-49 by Jurgen.

The highest scoring manager of the round and recipient of a £30 FanDuel credit was DaJoeyNdo Show, whose sensational score of 95 left Stoorey’s tally of 40 for dust and saw him leap from 346,603rd in the overall rankings to 57,443rd.

Teguh D Puncak, who he faces next, is unlikely to be worried though as he sits more than 50,000 places higher within the top 5,000.

The four next high scoring managers, who all receive a £10 FanDuel credit, were Captainjpd, Delt_eple, DJDave1979 and Dogba.

Andy85wsm, the competition’s only Scoutcast representative to make it past the first round, marches on. He beat Lardy to set up a third round tie with Anuliz.

Two other members of our moderator and contributor team also make it through. Greenwindmill will face Archie, while Stilicho squares up to lowlifegimpe in round three.

Other notable match ups in the next round include Lateriser12’s encounter with The TinMan, Parm’s tie with TommyJ and What the Fans Say community article writer Bolivian Seaman’s clash with Al Fresco.

The manager to draw the short straw in round three is 433,854 ranked Malvern Angells. He faces Dempele, who at 177th is the highest placed manager remaining in the tournament.

The second round results can be found via this link, while the full third round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Probably Lukaku will show fierce v. Murinho this week. #Praying

if you are not going to play Walker at home to Swansea when will you play him? 6.1m a waste on the bench .. good chance of c/s and attacking returns.. imo ..

Tough one .. I've just bought Lovren but I don't have lots of confidence in him .. possibly Alonso .. I know that contradicts my don't bench a high value player .. he has attacking potential but he is playing Ageuro .. fancy City to score ..

          1. MQ
            • 7 Years
            7 years, 5 months ago

From all my defenders, he's the most likely to assist/score. Lovren may get CS... Bournemouth has been relatively good at home though. Nyom might get something at home v. Watford. Now after all this... would taking Redmond out and playing 4 in the backline make sense?

I'd play Redmond .. members projections would have Alonso on the bench but .. if in doubt .. go with your gut .. you'll find it's correct more times than it's not ..

Does anyone know how the "target" numbers compare FPLStats to FISO?

I think I understand FPL Stats (everyone over 100 likely to rise, everyone less than -100 likely to fall)

I don't understand the FISO numbers though.

    eg. just now
    Fplstats FISO
    Stones -95.1 -397.1
    Can 96.6 67.8
    Kingsley 14.2 266.0

    ??

      don't bother with fiso

    2. A.T
      • 13 Years
      7 years, 5 months ago

They are the same but Fiso don't reset when they get it wrong, hence the -397.1

        • 7 Years
        7 years, 5 months ago

        Ah cheers, gotchya.

FISO should sort that out, looks daft, kinda puts you off believing the rest of the numbers.

          7 years, 5 months ago

None of them are exact but Fiso hasn't been used for a good few years around these parts. Fplstats and fffix are better these days.

He gets so many chances and misses many of them. Did Aguero to Ibra last week and it was so frustrating he only got 1 goal after so many chances. Who will you replace Ibra with?

Keep Ibra, yes he has been unlucky in the past few weeks, but that is bound to change and Utd are creating so many chances that with great fixtures more goals are bound to come.

His stats don't suggest he's careless. Has had a tough run of fixtures and West Ham on the whole have been bad. But fixtures don't get better than this to get the ball running.

I'd love to but I can't really drop anyone. Ibra can come in after Kane and maybe Phil Jones if I'm stupid enough to buy him again but other than that, no can do.
Andy Carroll would be on my radar though if I had a place for him.

Alexis 100 percent. West Ham are poor and he's better away anyway. Spurs have won once in ten matches and not playing well at all. Pick the form player every time if both have good fixtures.

OUt of the popular picks, I think I'd only lose Lukaku for Kane.

I can't get my head around people ditching Costa/Kun/Ibra for him...

Kane's fixtures are better than Kun's. I think the important thing is to be flexible and not wedded to any player. Fully prepared to get Kun in if they've a great run of fixtures and sort out their rotation issues

      This

Aguero is fixture proof. Kane is vastly overrated and Spurs just aren't playing well.

He's still better than lukaku but Costa and Aguero every time.

love it. I'm likewise. since week 2 the only captain I've caught was my punt on Joe Allen.

I'm on Sanchez this week, but I'll be throwing in some comedy Christmas punts. Alonso next week for example is a clean sheet certainty.

So the current world #1 has got 2 non-playing 3.9 defs(Lenihan + Browning), Fletcher(4.4) as his fourth and Wheelan(?? 4.4) as his fifth mid in his squad.
He also bought Ibra(12pts) in gw11, sold him following week for Kane(13pts), bought Ibra(9pts) back for Kane immediately after. He always captained the newcomer.

What do you make of this?

    A) Maximizing points from your starting XI - getting as many "big guns" as possible, focusing transfers on just them in case of form rise/drop, injury, etc. or even rotating the top players depending on their nearest fixture - and NOT worrying about your bench at all is a valid strategy that one should definetely look into.

    B) This guy just got temporarily lucky and won't survive christmas rotations.

    C) Something in between? - your thoughts please 🙂

Ibra, Martial, Mkhitaryan could be great options since the fixtures turn in gw 16.

    Foster - Heaton
    Vertonghan - McAuley - Evans - Kone - Amat
    Sanchez - Firmino - Coutinho - Allen - Capoue
    Aguero - Costa - Defoe

    2 x FT, 0.1m iTB

    1. This week I'll do Coutinho to probably Eriksen, Siggy or Wally (the latter two giving me 1.0-1.3m ITB)
    2. The following week, with 2 x FTs (or even a third - for hit) I need to get Hazard in 9preferably for Allen), without selling Aguero or Costa - I don't think it is possible, is it?
    3. I also need to deal with triple WBA def and Kone soon 😆

    1. Jafooli
      • 12 Years
      7 years, 5 months ago

Might need to do Firmino (when is Lallana back - as I think his absence affects his/the teams performance) and Vertoghan > Hazard & 4.4m def (def would be McAuley - Evans - Kone - 4.4m - Amat which is disgraceful)
