Hazardousblue is ranked just under 50,000 places below the competition favourite and prevailed over Lowlifegimpe 57 to 43 in round seven.

The second highest placed manager, 14,654 ranked Moin, squares up to malvernangells, who is just 2,000 places behind him following Gameweek 19’s fixtures.

Our other quarter-finals see Back on the Horse take on David Brains. The former will be the favourite with a rank of 18,929 compared to his opponent’s placing of 69,806.

The manager to win the highest score prize in the last sixteen, claiming £30 credit from FanDuel, is David Brains who scored 60 points in his defeat of Big Phil Soccer Team.

The managers to earn a £10 FanDuel credit for the next highest scores were: Hazardous Blue, A Manager Has No Name, Urchin and jacknap.

Looking to finally replace Stones with a decent defender providing I don't get any more injuries tonight etc.

    Best pick?

    A) Alonso

    B) Bellerin

    C) Any one else

Jones getting benched didn't help anything. Have Daniels Ake up not for the price and elite nature, 1 less CS but more goals and assists among them.

You do Zaha, Anichebe >> Stanislas, Negredo (on pens and decent fixtures) for a hit, if you don't mind.

Negredo could lose pens to Leadbitter, if/when he regains his place. Club captain, and took pens and fk's all last season. In fact he could be a decent shout as 4th/5th mid.

Burnley doesn't score much. A tough Saints and Arsenal defense won't really help Gray's case imo when Deeney plays Mid and bournemouth and on pens. Deeney is very poor though but so has been gray apart from that hattrick.

          1. fedolefan
            • 9 Years
            7 years, 3 months ago

Saints defense is bang on mediocre away from home and Burnley always score at home. Arsenal is a 2 pointer and the two that follow are potential hauls. Sorry, but 3 out of those four are great fixtures.

Yes I don't know why I ended up owning deeney tbh....since I've gotten him he's only got a pen and that's it. Middlesbrough seem solid though and so should find it easy to shut out a poor Watford team, Bournemouth may be a different story though so I can see where you're coming from

How likely is Friend to take his starting place back now? I saw in stock check article that he probably wouldn't but unsure if who he came on to replace is injured?

    Current team for next GW:

    Cech (Jaku)
Alonso / Pieters / Brunt (Friend / Holebas)
Alli / Phillips / Lallana / Sanchez (Capoue)
    Carroll / Ibra / Aguero

Unsure of who i'll play/bench out of defence yet and unsure of captain pick...

    Have 1FT and 0itb.

Ok to save the FT? Hoping Carroll starts against Palace....

Just wondering does anyone have an answer to this. I joined a new league that was set up from scratch to run from gameweek 20 until the end of the season. I took a -16 point hit between gameweek week 19 and 20. Will I be deducted the 16 points or is it like the run up to a new season and the points hit won't count. At the moment I'm on 46 points just wondering will 16 come off that after tomorrow's game. Cheers

With the sheer amount of wingbacks this season in 3-5-2 or 5-4-1 formations, what would we think of a wingback position in FPL. You can only have up to two wingbacks out of your 5 defenders. Also wingbacks score 3 points for a clean sheet and 5 points for a goal. I think it'd make the overall game more balanced.

Not that I want it to be this way but looking at most FPL teams, most have 3 LB's. This would probably favour the super-casual more as from what I see there are a number of teams that historically would have an actual back 4. So Johnson, Terry, Vidic, Cashley (Back in the day).

It would just be easier to make wing backs slightly more expensive right? Also I'm not sure I'd wanted it "balanced'', usually this means that everyone scores similar points and the variation is lessened. I want more variation in points not less if anything...

      1. greghammer95
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 3 months ago

To an extent they are. But my main point here is we're pretty much all playing with virtual midfielders in our defense and not defenders, so defenders don't get enough credit/selection.

    4. RubeRx
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

Not sure that would work because teams vary formations and the 'wingback' position isn't really an established position. If you were to classify wingbacks, then you would also have to divide mids into defensive/attacking mids as well

Take Chelsea for example, they didn't begin the season playing 3-4-3 (or 3-5-2) so no way Alonso could've been classified as a wingback at the beginning of the season. What do you do midseason when Chelsea changed tactics?

Overall, it would just complicate the game and the rules for the average player

      1. greghammer95
        • 14 Years

It's similar to say Milner for example, doesn't change midway through the season but we get lucky/unlucky if someone is OOP.

It will never be implemented but found it interesting to think about.

    Jakupovic - Henessey
    Chambers - Ake - McAuley - Alonso - Muniesa
Philips - De Roon - Sanchez - Hazard - Eriksen
    Costa - Barnes - Aguero - 0FT and 3.3 ITB

I was planning on ditching Maculey and Muniesa for Lallana and other defenders and now I wanna get Baines in too but the budget isn't right. What should I do?

De roon. I had 3.3 ITB remember? Strong midfield

I think Lallana is more important as wouldn't fancy playing de roon or barnes each week. I see the dilemma with Baines though maybe keep an eye, they have City next afterall.

but good fixtures after that, the no1 guy has him and its really borne him good results. Aghh - such a dilemma

Yeahh. I mean I say that but I got Baines in myself for next week cause I really want him lol.

Only other option I could see is get in Baines & upgrade Barnes to say someone like Rondon (good fixtures).. tough one.

Decent team but your midfield needs some looking into. You'll get past 50 I hope this week but get rid of Firmino, Capoue and get strong recrutements.

          https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/1421129/event/20

Take a look, I have 3.3 ITb and was planning on getting in Lallana - its pretty balanced. Try balancing you team a bit more is what I'd say.

You need Sanchez to be quiet, also depends on your ranking. I'm sitting on 39(-4) and a green arrow at the moment. 720k to 680k.

6.4m to spend on a midfielder (not Phillips) - Thinking Redmond (stats and fixtures), Cabaye (some corners, probably penalties now and pretty good fixtures) or Allen, thoughts?

Really not much in that price range unfortunately.

I'd probably say Redmond because of fixtures (although i'm not keen on him anyway) or Snodgrass (but terrible fixtures..)

I like two first picks. Cabaye gives you more money, lower ownership and slighly better fixtures. I would get him but got Benteke instead.

The big question is, who is the LEAST essential from the following 3 for me...

    Kane
    Kun
    Zlatan

Aguero from a value perspective. Kane will get goals (annoyingly) and is fairly cheap. Aguero is 2m more and that can be used elsewhere.

Ibra such high ownership, good form and fixtures. For the short-term I think he's essential.

    What next for this lot?
Giroud/Defoe- Negredo is one option or change Holebas- Ake maybe?

Think I will stay away from Aguero for a while now anyway...

    Heaton (SOU).
    Alonso(lei), Walker (WBA), Jones (LIV).
    Eriksen(WBA), Lallana(mun), Sanchez(swa), Phillips(tot).
    Ibra(LIV), Negredo(wat), Costa(lei).

Pickford(out), Holebas(MID), Whelan (sun, Amat (ARS).
    1ft, 2.5m in bank.

    A) Brunt + Alli
    B) McAuley + Lukaku

Already got McAuley and Eriksen. I cant afford Brunt if I get Lukaku. I feel Lukaku will probably outscore Alli over the next 4-5 gmw's, but Brunt is scary.

    Thoughts please?

Nah, but with Bolasie out then Baines and Coleman have more attacking potential and fixtures turn good after Man City.

Great fixtures and they will get clean sheets under Koeman and with Baines up and down the wing with his delivery.. Pens are just a bonus
