The Knee Jerk – Gameweek 26

This is getting to be a habit for Romelu Lukaku.

With a legion of more than 627,000 FPL managers tentatively trusting him with the Gameweek 26 captaincy, he muscled his way to Everton’s second goal to repay the faith and bolster his heavy-hitter CV once again.

While we perhaps had visions of another Bournemouth-style bumper return against a hapless Sunderland defence, Lukaku’s backers will gladly accept a seventh strike from his last four Goodison Park encounters, providing further evidence that this may just be an asset we can trust with the armband.

He was almost handed it by default on this occasion. With both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexis Sanchez closed off as options, the support for Lukaku was somewhat forced.

Diego Costa provided the main alternative and, while he proved his reliability with yet another goal, he remains a slow drip to Lukaku’s gushing tap – a player that will feed us regular points without promising to excite.

Having blanked in four of his last nine Gameweek starts, it offered reassurance that the Costa consistency was still there. However, he missed out on bonus points once again and has yet to score more than 9 points at Stamford Bridge all season; explosivity is just not on the menu with Costa – in more ways than one.

Ironically, he could now give way to Sergio Aguero in many squads – a player renowned for one-off hauls that can better even Lukaku’s Bournemouth effort – should Manchester City’s double Gameweek 27 be confirmed.

Elsewhere today, West Brom’s Chris Brunt again missed out on a potential assist. Denied in Gameweek 25 by the top of Gareth McAuley’s head that deflected Jonny Evan’s initial effort, today Brunt’s corner led to the scrappiest of goals – with McAuley again the benefactor.

Two weeks to the day, the Knee Jerk remarked on how McAuley was a charmed asset, a player who almost bought about his own luck by being an alert and significant physical presence in the box.

And so it came to fruition again today.

Brunt’s delivery was met with a feeble punch by Bournemouth’s Artur Boruc, span off what appeared to be Steve Cook’s back, before arriving for the gleeful McAuley to convert. The two touches from two Cherries players, cancelling out Brunt’s contribution.

Fortune again the provider for McAuley, while denying another delivery from Brunt it’s reward.

Brunt appears to have developed his own unwanted habit, and it’s a far nastier one than Lukaku’s.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Best option

    A) Kun (c) & Alli in GW27 + Phillips in GW28

    or

    B) Sterling (c) & Lukaku in GW27 + Siggy GW28

I'd have Lukaku (not Kun) in GW28 and GW29 either way, but my 3rd and 4th mids would be different after the blanks (Alli and Phillips with A, Sterling and Siggy with B.

    RP:

Strongly considering only Pedro as my Chelsea attacking cover from gw29 onwards!
    In the last 6 games,
    Pedro has 39 points
Costa has 22 points (last 5 games)
    Hazard has 32 points

Although, Pedro gets subbed off early and there's a slight chance he might get rotated with Willian out there, but he cannot be ignored for that price tag and it;s basically you get what you pay for and worth investing the risk.

With so many options from different teams out there, having a front line with Ibra-Kane-Costa-Lukaku is too expensive. Also Hazard isnt justifying his price tag IMO. With Ibra and Lukaku providing similar or better returns than Costa and with better optons in midfield than Hazard, I feel Pedro is the perfect option to go to from Chelsea's attack. He is not only consisten, but also explosive and cheap.

PS: There are just my thoughts cuz fitting in Ibra, Kane, Spurs mid, Coleman, Lukaku, a Liv mid, City cover, Chelsea def, Chelsea attacker all in a team is difficult and I feel Pedro helps cut down that to some extent.

    Thoughts?

The point is if you own Costa you might have Lallana and if you have Pedro you can have Mane or Coutinho (just an example)
In that case Ill happily take the latter
Costa and Haz arent explosive enough for their price tag

On a scale from sanguin to apoplectic, I would place myself at seething.

The fact he's too cheap to upgrade to the 7/8m range easily and not wanting to take a hit to get him out means he's forced to linger around like a fart in an elevator.

I might just bite the bullet and take an 8-pointer and turn him into Sterling/Sane for next week, along with getting Aguero in.

It's all jeopardising my re-purchase of Sanchez in GW31 though.

Writing this has now cranking me up a notch... 🙂

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

    DGWK v Blanks

Yesterday our Burning Question looked at how we navigate blanks and a potential double Gameweek over March. http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2017/02/25/the-burning-question-how-do-we-plan-for-blanks-and-double-gameweeks/

With key players missing fixtures and possibly having a lucrative two matches in one Gameweek achieving this is no easy feat.

Even for those who planned for the blanks – injuries can strike (yes, Matt Phillips I’m looking at you).

One strategy proposed by Mark was to focus on the double Gameweek and get in only the key players that play in Gameweek 28’s reduced fixture list. In short, quality over quantity.

What is your strategy for navigating GWKs 27 and 28, should Manchester City and Stoke have a double Gameweek?

Are you not bothered about fielding XI or even close to that in GWK 28? How many players do you think you will have for that week?

How many double Gameweek players will you have? Who will you be fielding? And how many hits are you prepared to spend?

we all love a punt so cant help but pile into the DGW players and then hope for the best some the blanks....short sighted but cant help but feel thats what the vast majority will do.

then again, there is a lot to be gained having a full squad when there are blanks, look at this week, the average is so low! the average joe with ibra and dirty sanchez didnt think about replacements i reckon, so the logical man says there is more to be gained from focusing on the blanks rather the DGW.

Who would yo have replace Ibra or Sanchez with to get points this week? Ibra to Costa woulda been a -4. For his 6 pts, that leaves me +2. My starting players can guarantee me that and now I still have Ibra for gw27 who I prefer over Costa.
We haven't had a double GW this season so it not compatible just yet

I think its better to maximize on citys dgw than having players for gw28
City have excellent fixtures in gw27 and look captaincy materials and i dont think kun or sterling will be rotated and it will boost your rank if they return well
I dont see good players in gw28 except liv players
Taking hits to get in whm or swa or hull or bou players in gw28 doesnt fit well imo

I have the same stance as Mark. I'm not going out of my way to get in average players for average teams just because they have a GW28 game.

As for GW27, I'll just be doing Kane/Costa --> Aguero(C). Potentially Eriksen ---> Sterling for (-4) if I am feeling frisky.

Mine's the same as yesterday's strategy. Albeit I'm resigned to having 11 on paper for GWK 28 - but in reality probably 8 as Phillips and Carroll are injury doubts and Stanislas is well and truly dropped. I'll not be looking to replace any though as 8 with Lukaku, Sigurdsson, WBA and Everton defence is the main lads covered.

For the DGWK - Aguero and Sterling in for no hit. Possibly Grant for a hit.

        I'm seriously considering WC'ing into GW27 to get 6 x DGW'ers.

Why - could be a huge boost, with such short notice and plenty of time to prepare for 34 (TC/BB) & 37 (BB/TC) when many more teams are playing. 2/3rds of team will probs be in place by then, FT's sort the rest.

Also helps prepare for GW28 blanks.

Six - Aguero, Sterling, Stones, Allen, Pieters, Grant

I think Mark hit the nail on the head yesterday and I am surprised all rest of the burning question panel missed it. GW 28 has been over-egged. People are neglecting other GWs and good players by getting their team GW28 match-fit. Jonty's team, for example, is sitting pretty for 28 but look at his score yesterday compared to Mark's.

We've all got the GW28 blinkers on and we're losing points as a result.

Not sure that point really works. McAuley a key difference, again. The point really is that I should have got McAuley weeks ago - but as he's a GWK 28 player then it moots your point a little.

Also with Costa in for Ibrahimovic - time will tell. Let's come back to that after the final whistle at Old Trafford against Bournemouth 😉

Do you think GW28 has been overcooked, Jonty?

What did you make of Mark's response to the burning question yesterday? He was the only one to say basically "sod 28" and jump on the much bigger pots of points on offer before 28 and after 28.

I agreed with that point very much. It's why I saved 2 frees for a dgwk. It's also why while I'm well stocked for gwk 28 I'm not looking to spend vital transfers on replacing Carroll etc. Very pleased to have the key fellas in place.

                McAuleys phantom goals.
Chambers clean sheets floating off his bench.

I'm not sure agree with luck or bad luck. Fortunate things can happen sometimes but ultimately we make our own luck or misfortune. Things like bench points coming in are not luck - that's good management in having a playing bench.

Every season is different. Each year it can take a while to adapt ( e.g. Leicester players) sometimes that adaptation can happen very quickly ( eg Ronaldo and Suarez joining the prem lg).

Sometimes that strategy suits an existing style, sometimes it doesn't.

After a decade of differing seasons you can never write off any strategy.

Should we all be aggressive with transfers for the final few gwks?

That's different for every manager and will depend on lots of factors - most notably mini league placing.

There are clearly some lucky goals in this game, Sanchez and Ibra made some offside goals for example, the McAuley goal last week etc. My ML rival had Sanchez C and Ibra C for all their offside goals and owns McAuley, while I have Brunt as my WBA defender, that are just a lot of extra points that are just lucky

We're essentially bending over backwards to get in players for GW28 who are likely to post a low score. I didn't realise what I was sleepwalking into until Mark posted what he did yesterday.

I see what your saying FPL V, but for the most part, with the fixtures they've had (and form in some cases), An Eve Def, WBA Def, Hull Def, Siggy, & Lukaku, and a Liverpool mid are all players we may well have considered anyway, regardless of them having a game in 28 or not.

Yeah, that's a better arguement, I've been wary of that, Siggy, well he's virtually fixture proof so no worries there, Snods got a nice run after, I'm not sold on keeping him but if I have him a little longer then that's OK. Eve have a nice 29 fixture so that's OK. Even Bou have a good 29 fixture...WBA are the ones really, Their nice run ends after 27.

I will chase a man city DGW but not going to chase GW28. Not just the point potential of a reduced GW but looking more & more at what it's going to cost to quickly realign a side for Gw29/30. Had 3 WBA for ages due to fixtures but are they really worth 3 places for an away game at Everton?

Precisely. We're all keeping hold of duds because of 28.

I think many are keeping hold Stanislas not because of gwk 28 - as he won't even play. They are not transferring him out because it's better to focus on more expensive better assets.

                      not just for GW28.
Phillips remains the 2nd best PPG sub-7m.
Was top starting mid for the top 10k this GW (47%).
Not a lot of options under 6m have been showing form.
Form & fixtures showed him to be a solid pick from beginning of Jan.
With Stanislas he was a solid option when people (particularly on this site) started looking forward to GW26 & 28 about a month ago.

I'm basically keeping him because (a) bigger fish, (b) Bournemouth look so bad there's always the chance that he gets his spot back.

How much egg there is remains to be seen. Those with a GW28 fixture will score some points - but we don't know how many. Could be a high scoring week, or may not. Those without a fixture will definitely score zero. I think the top scorer if you sum up GWs 27, 28 and 29 will have probably gone with 11 players in 28. But there will be a lot of managers who have 11 in 28 who will score far worse.

No it isn't. Everyone who doesn't have a lot of players are hoping it's a low scoring week - It's not the same thing. There will be some players (maybe more than some) who will go all in and beat our 'safe' 9 players by 20-odd points. They then take a -8 hit to get our exact teams for GW29. The result? They are 12 points up. This scenario is virtually guaranteed to happen. On the flip side our safe 9 will also beat a lot of teams with a risky 11. Each player has to decide on whether to take the risk or not.

Think the Dgw justifies a hit or two. Probably kun and sterling in for a hit, then out again the following week for another. As someone else said on here, this game's meant to be fun and would rather spend a few points aiming for a better return, with kun captain it is effectively only a two point hit over the two weeks (given three extra fixtures)

Aguero is a gw27 captain given.

So for other stoke and City players you just pretend the second game in 27 is actually in 28. Then compare their fixtures and prospects as normal.

But dont forget, unless the player is essential to their team then they have a slight disadvantage being a DGW player due to rotation.

To put this into context, City have a tricky schedule after dgw and Stoke are a poor team whose season is over.

I'll only be going for Aguero for DGW

I think I'll just hokey cokey Lukaku and Aguero for 27/28 as my only double player. My only other option is Dele to Sterling for a hit but he's my only Spurs attacking cover and I don't want to lose him for their nice fixtures after the blank.

That would give me 10 for 28 with no hits. Although the 10 does include Phillips, Big Andy Carroll and double WBA defence away at Everton, so not great by any means.

I'm going to play the Lukaku Hokey Kokey with Aguero in GW27 and then reverse the transfer GW28. Captain will be Aguero without a doubt.

Ali to Sterling for - 4 and then Sterling to Mane GW28. Will give me 9 players for GW28, that's enough I think, no need for 11 as I think very few will have 11 and the extra 2 just aren't worth it when you consider it will be for hits.

I'll play Grant and probably get Agüero. Would love to buy KDB/Sterling/Sane but I simply hate Pep's rotation and inconsistency. It all depends on if injuries force me to make more changes. I'm trying not to overthink and keep it simple.

Well, I had half-planned and half-found-myself-with a decent enough core for GW28.... Foster, McAuley & Phillips, Lukaku, Coleman & Barkley, plus Stanislas.

This week I took a 4point hit to move out Sanchez, Jesus & Amat for Mane, Costa & Maguire this week, I thought I was in decent shape.

Stanislas has been worrying for a while, and appears to be totally dead as an option now. Phillips & Maguire have the potential to really do me over.

I'm actually not really that worried about 28 at the moment, though, it looks like a damp squib whatever happens.

Instead, I think I'm carrying on my recent tactic of combining the daring with the prudent... An 8-point hit is on the horizon, assuming 27 is confirmed as a double. Costa, Alonso & Alli -> Aguero, Stones & Siggy.

Triple captain Aguero should claw back some of those spent points just by showing up for 2 games, and Siggy will do the rest by having a fixture in 28.

Depending on how things go I will then probably just do one transfer in 28, shifting Stanislas for someone likely to play.

Therefore I'm averaging a 4 point hit per week over the period 26-28, and bearing in mind the blanks/out of favour players, I'll have effectively gained 6 extra fixtures (before accounting for TC Aguero) over that period.

Aguero and Sterling for DGW, and then 8 for GW28 with -4...ie.
Heaton, Brunt, Coleman, Siggy, Phillips, Firmino, Coutinho, Lukaku. Do I need anyone else for 28?

        Bringing Sterling in GW27.
A- If MCI wins in the replay I'll bring also Kun and captain him. That will leave me with 10 players for GW28. I'm happy with that.

B- If MCI loses the replay I'll also bring Sane in GW28 and I'll have 11 players for GW28.

Aguero (TC) and Sane the final roll of the dice for me this season, excluding bench boost.

If this fails I won't really care what happens in GW28!

Only bringing in Aguero if DGW, have Pieters. Concentrated 3 or 4 weeks ago bringing in (or holding) decent GW 28 bench fodder season holders - T Carroll, Llorente, Smith, Pieters etc.,

Looks like for GW28 I have the makings of 11. That 11 will include A.Carroll & Phillips so it could be 9 or 10.

DGW I was thinking 2 (Aguero/Sterling) but I also might go 3 and get Grant, maybe.

Not sure I agree with this "GW28 is overcooked and let's get the players in who are going to score points in the here and now".

There are at the minute the 30 first page form players and 10 of these guys have fixtures in GW28. So likely that people planning for GW28 have some of these and are at present scoring well anyway.

A few players have got injured, lost form, or lost their place in the team this happens in previous planning situations. But by and large I think 28 options have scored well enough and aren't the duds that some are making out.

        Jakupovic
        Coleman
        McAuley
        Mawson
        Keane
        Siggy
        King
        Morrison
        Brady
        Lukaku

Mark's look at the two GWs together was very well put.

I feel similar in that the potential gains from GW27 DGW could be far greater than any potential gains from trying to field XI in GW28. The Phillips injury probably means I will sell him over Alli to get in Sterling. My thinking being that if he makes it back by GW28, he has Everton away and then the fixtures turn bad. Spurs fixtures beyond GW27 look good, so holding Alli may still prove fruitful.

So in summary, look at how hits can maximise your DGW potential without ruining your squad, hold the key players in your squad for GW28, and look to see who is worth keeping through the blank GW, as they have good fixtures afterwards. Navigating successfully through that could be potentially very rewarding.

I will have 5 DGW players (yes, I already have Grant and Crouch), though I think Crouch is from secure. Then I will have 9 GW 28 players with one hit. Pretty happy with that

        i like Mark's thinking. I'm currently on 9 for GW28

        Foster
        Coleman // Baines
        Mane // Siggy // Snodgrass
        Carroll // Rondon // Lukaku

I originally planned to use my 2FTs before then to get 2 players with fixtures in GW28 but the City DGW changes things. I think Mark is right - City players in GW27 could score well compared to lesser teams in GW28.

        Plan A
        GW27 Lukaku > Aguero
        GW28 Aguero > Lukaku

        Plan B
        GW27 Eriksen > Sterling
        GW28 Amat > Robertson

        Plan C (-4)
        GW27 Eriksen > Sterling
        GW27 Lukaku > Aguero
        GW28 Aguero > Lukaku

Will Sterling and Robertson out score Aguero? or maybe take a hit to get both Sterling and Aguero, do I need Robertson in GW28? Plenty of time to ponder!

Not bothered about fielding xi. Key players will suffice.
        Currently on this for 28.

        Jaku
        Coleman Brunt McAuley
        Mane Siggy Phillips? Stan?
        Kaku

Pickford Cedric Alonso Alli Ibra Kane

Thinking Sterling Kun for 27 (with Cedric to Mawson for funds) for a -8

That'll be 8 definite starters with Phillips and Stan doubts and 1ft going into 28 to either use for another player, or save to bring Sanchez back for 29 for free the saved ft

Llorente and Fraser primarily on the radar

I'm not worried about anyone else's team with this plan, think I've got the key players well covered..

There is a lot of "it suits me so I'll believe it" stuff going down on FFS recently.

Managers that will fall over themselves for 2 player/games in a DGW will happily accept 0 player/games in a week with blanks. That makes no sense. There are points to be had in the Hull v Swansea game just as there are in the City v Stoke game. Who's to say Hull/Swansea won't be a 2-2 or 3-3? Who's to say City/Stoke won't be a 1-0 or 1-1?

The ideal is to have 11 players every week. That's the principle to start from.

For me, I will have minimum 10 in GW28 with no hits. I will have Aguero next week if City have a double and may add Sterling or Sané for a (delayed) hit as well.

Of course I agree with that principle of having 11 men but is it better to have 11 for GW28 if that means you end up holding back on getting City assets for 27?

Going Sterling for hit could easily return double figures - perhaps even 15+, whereas having 2-3 mediocre players for GW28 may return less and leave you having to get rid post GW28.

The City DGW, if it arrives, have changed the approach to GW28 somewhat, for me, anyway. My approach currently is exploit 27 to its fullest - within reason - and then look again at 28.

I know what your approach is. I think it is mistaken. 🙂

You persuade yourself of Sterling's potential in GW27 but do you want him afterwards? I sure don't. Look at the fixtures. I want no City till at least GW32 and I'm still very iffy about Pep's ongoing rotation. So any City player I bring in is a certain transfer out waiting to happen.

GW27 is all I want City players for and even GW27 is risky - City will be in the middle of a run of 6 games in 18 days and there will be rotation. Are you 100% that Sterling starts both GW27 games? Thought not.

Now let's look at these "mediocre" players that I have to get rid of post-GW28. Antonio/Snodgrass? West Ham have lei HUL in 29/30. No rush to remove them. Robertson/Maguire/Markovic/Grosicki? Hull have eve WHM MID in 29-31. No rush there either. Same goes for Swansea and Bournemouth assets.

The truth is that the only players that I'd be pressed to rid myself of are the City players I get for GW27. 😕

Simply put, you are both right. There is risk and reward for getting City players in, but you have to look at who you have available in your team to play GW28 and beyond.

There is less potential for getting players who score well in GW28 purely down to there being less fixture to pick from, but preparing your team for fixtures from GW29 onwards is probably more important, and maybe Mark is not putting enough thought into GW29 onwards (only he can answer that).

It's all down to how much potential points you think the City assets will get you. A balanced approach seems to be 2 City players for the DGW, and Mark's argument is if you buy more tickets, you are more likely to hit the jackpot.

There is also the pure fun aspect of a DGW that Managers love to be part of. Makes the game more exciting for them. Personally, I just care about OR, but others play the game for different types of enjoyment.

You have me truly confused with this. I like to agree with you. I'm not sure I can pass up the temptation of Kun and Sterling this week. Maybe they do get rotated but I don't wanna be the one that didn't take the risk. The points potential is too great. Besides, for the sake of a -4 this week and a ft next week, I'll have 8 players in gw28 plus Stan and Phillips so I'm happy with that. Coleman, McAuley, Siggy and Lukaku

If prices don't move I can do Kane&Carroll > Aguero&Crouch for a hit. Still leaves me with a crocked Phillips so the other option is to swap him out for 4.3m fodder or move Hazard to a cheaper player and get in Sterling for Phillips...?

          GW27 - Ibra/Alli to Aguero (c)/Sterling
GW28 - Will have 9 starters. Happy with that. Possibly 10 if I decide to add Firmino to Mane closer to the time.
That includes Phillips though, who is an annoyance. Still, he could well be back by then.

Certainly not worried about having a full 11 in 28.

The balance between getting it right across 27 and 28 comes down to risk tolerance and caution. Too much of one and it could seriously backfire.

          I will be doing this:
          GW27 - Costa>Kun (C) / possibly TC
GW28 - I have 7 starters right now (including sick notes Carroll and Evans). I have Brunt, Coleman, Lukaku and Mané. Only other big key player is Sigurdsson, who I don't have.

My massive problem now is that my midfield is Alli, Eriksen, Pedro and Mané, so getting in Sterling for 27 and Sigurdsoon for 28 would now mean getting rid of a form player (Spurs back to 352 makes Alli/Eriksen undroppable IMO). Anyone in a similar boat?

I have Sterling and Aguero in this week (for a pair of West Ham duds...).

Either I have a pair of DGWers in 27 away to Sunderland and at home to Stoke who I can then sell and combine funds to get pretty much any pair of replacements easily, or I have two players away to Sunderland (rather than at "home" in the London Stadium to Chelsea!) and at home to Stoke the following week when a number of big hitters are blanking.

Mostly agree with Mark, but I won't consider the TC on Aguero, might not even bring him in and opt for both Sterling and Sane instead. Sanchez has been far and away the most reliable captain this year, will play every game and he's going to have two doubles; he will be my triple captain. Gonna have Foster, Brunt, Coleman, Siggy, Mane, Lukaku, Barnes, King for GWK28 which is more than enough. I do still like the idea of a GWK29 wildcard though as I have quite a few changes i'd like to make.

One hit for each 27 & 28. Kun and Sterling in for Lukaku and Alli. Then Lukaku and Coutihno/Firmino/Lallana in for Kun and Sterling. Gives me 10 for Gwk 28, although two of those are gambles Carroll and Phillips.

I think the blank GW only should be factored in only when you make 50-50 transfer decisions in the lead up to that GW. For instance from GWs 24-26 you'd pick Siggy over other mid prized mids, you'd pick Maguire if you want a cheap defender so on.

There is no need to have lots of players for GW 28. About 8 would suffice as long as you cover the important players. (Lukaku - Coleman / Baines / Liverpool mids / Hull defender or Jaku / Siggy)

I think there is much more points potential in City's prospective DGW.

I think you should bring in at least 2 man city big hitters for gw27 if they have a dbgw. Sterling and aguero could score 10+ in each game. It is in some ways damage limitation for me. With Phillips injured I may get siggi in and aguero and sterling for Phillips hazard and Kane. I will then have 9 players for gw28! Thinking of getting McGuire and king in for that gw. Already have jaku baines McCauley Coleman mane Stanislas Carroll and lukaku. Think you need to get the best players in for gw28 and also players who can play in gw29! King and siggi are classic examples. You could well go with 10 man and still be ok if others have bought players in only getting 2 pts in gw28! It really is up to your own judgement. I love these gws

Aguero TC next GW (if double) vs Sanchez/Ibra TC later.

        Issue with Aguero in 27 - rotation/minutes/Peppes
Sanchez later - which have switched off, if he knows he's away in the summer?
Ibra later - tougher games than sun/STO (Aguero)?

Anyone else worth considering for TC? Mane (will he get a DGW?), Kane, Other?

You missed the 'for this GW only' part. Selling for Kun.

Did Ibra > Costa for a hit just because it was a low risk move. Risked -2 points for a possible profit. Did profit from it but I'm thinking Kane maybe would have been a better choice because he is explosive.

I also couldn't get rid of Ibra because I don't plan on WCing for quite some time and need to plan ahead.

If City win the cup game is it worth doing Firmino to Sterling gw27 -4 and then Sterling back to Firmino gw28 for free? I have 10 tor gw27 already, 11 including Firmino, I also already have Aguero.

        A) Do it
        B) Keep Firmino

                  Time to cash out Heaton?
Is this the perfect time to wave goodbye to Heaton and bring in Grant (assuming the DGW happens) even if it's for a hit?
Thinking of making the following moves myself:
                  Benteke + Hazard + Heaton to Aguero + Sterling + Grant (-4)

                      7 years, 2 months ago

Not unless you need the money. Stoke fixtures are terrible too. Heaton should have saved that pen yesterday, that would have been a different story then (I was behind the goal)

                    Something I have been pondering:

Say City suddenly lose to Huddersfield, wouldn't it be ok to get Agüero in anyways when you have already put aside the cash for this move? City would then get matches in GW27 and GW28 against Sunderland and Stoke, both games where he could get a decent score.

                    Thoughts?

Agreed. But I would have Zlatan as captain option in GW27 and Agüero as captain option in GW28.

The prospect that Phillips might be out has thrown a spanner in the works for me, I am thinking I might have to do a (-8) this week if city progress. Lukaku, Hazard, Philiphs >> Kun, Sterling, King (-8), these moves worth it? Anyone else thinking the same?

Depends if you can go with Phillips on the bench or not this coming GW (if he is out). Hopefully the news will be that he is at least back for GW28.

Would mean playing Romeu and would have one less player for the GW28. But could be an option.

                      Already done Dele to Siggy
Want to do Costa to Kun
Might also do Phillips to Sterling
                      😉

Yeah might play it by ear also. Think it could be worth the extra -4

                    Thoughts on my proposed transfers?

                    Alli + Jesus > Sterling + Agüero for GW27.

GW28 players will be Heaton, Coleman, McAuley, Brunt, Fletcher, Mané, Siggy & Lukaku. I will have 1FT so I could do Amat > Hull defender.
