Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Southampton vs Man City

Saturday’s events end at St Mary’s with Manchester City the visitors to Southampton.

From a Fantasy perspective, it will be the Saints under scrutiny given that they offer us a pair of double Gameweeks to come.

Manolo Gabbiadini’s display will be the main focus with the Italian striker making his return from a groin problem after missing the last three Gameweek outings. Gabbiadini has scored four goals in his first three outings prior to the setback at Spurs in Gameweek 29.

The likes of Dusan Tadic and Nathan Redmond will also be assessed, while Maya Yoshida and Jack Stephens are also set to be key transfer targets in the coming weeks ahead of the first double-header in Gameweek 36.

For City, Sergio Aguero goes into this evening’s contest backed by 417,000 (9.4%) with the armband having scored in his last four Gameweek starts. John Stones misses out the visitors with Pep Guardiola confirming an injury pre-match.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I am looking forward to the next few weeks of fpl all these doubles should mean lots of points should be on offer if one makes the right moves

What do ye think would be an acceptable hit heading into gw 34 & 36 -4 or -8?

I'm looking at max - 8. Not enough good options to justify it.

      GW36 - 8

For GW34, honestly, don't think any hit can be justified. The fixtures are horrendous. The only SLIGHTLY interesting moves are to bring in de gea or ibra

Have 2FT and will be doing Siggy to Mkhy as opposed to Lukaku to Ibra. Think Siggy is just useless right now.

I'm in exactly the same situation. I think I'm going to hold onto Lukaku and swap out Heaton for DDG. The only other change I'll make is Brunt for a Boro defender (probably Barrigan), and that's only to fund the GK swap. After that it will be a steady GW35 and WC in GW36.

How many double players are most people fielding and whats the bigegst amount of hits your willing to take? There is literally no-one I want tbh. I feel like im compelled to get Ibra or Benteke but want neither tbh. Currently only have chambers.
Thinking my moves this week might be:
    Walker>to someone cheap
    Origi>Kane
    Kun>Ibra

    Giving me:
    Pickford
    Chambers Pieters Jag
    Sanchez Son Alli Hazard
    Ibra Kane Lukaku
    (Ward-prowse, yoshida, 4.5mil defender, jaku)

I foolishly brought him in twice this season which coincided with him getting injured, getting dropped and Swansea losing their way

Current Llorente owner in recent GWs.

I'm just thankful most other 3rd forwards have been shockingly inconsistent too and so no real damage done. Annoyingly I was playing 3-5-2 and taking advantage of having a mid over pointless 3rd forward until I brought Llorente around GW26.

Seriously don't think its worth the risk, even for one week, to fill up on trash like Nogoalgredo, Bentekrap, the Boro defence (when they have to attack of just sign their relegation pact now), Palace defenders vs Pool and Totts, etc

Agree. I had Valencia and De Roon anyway, bringing in Valdes and Ibra (C) and then stopping.

    1)Mainstrem Kaku --> Ibra
    2) Baines -->Gibson
    3)Both for -4

*Have only Valencia for the 34 DGW so far 🙂

Dont really need that many DGW players så they have bad fixtures. Perhaps a middlesbrough player is worth it as they have decent fixtures in the double round

Thanks for your opinion. Rally wondering whether to follow the herd with Ibra. Baines or even Walker (rotation risk) to Gibson looks sensible too. 🙂

Is Zaha and Ibra (c) enough for GW34?

Can get in Valdes/Nagredo but this will delay my essential Kane transfer in for another week - my cash ML rival has him and reeling me in so need to block asap...

Plus will need to ship at a cost later with no WC.

Benching sane and playing shitty zaha was a great move........ add the fact that Stones got injured during warm-up or something made me miss 11 points today. Giving me 41 points with coutinho, sanchez, ibra and bellerin to play. My rank is 1.2million so i might be lucky to get green arrows.....
This season is really horrendous for me.............

Why bench Sane? Not the greatest of moves. The Stones bit was a bit unlucky but I guess Stones not being a part of that City defence today was the reason they kept the CS today 🙂

It was a bad move indeed, but saints have a good team and def so I was hoping zaha would have a easier game........ I took wrong as I have done the whole season.

If your current score reflects the strength of the rest of the team, I think it was a decent choice. Zaha is more nailed on, in form and playing against a team with fixture congestion. You were just unlucky that Zaha didn't get anything from the game.

    Which better move with FT?

    Siggy > Zaha
    Or
    Lukaku > Benteke

Siggy > Zaha for sure. Lukaku has West Ham next who he always seem to score against.

Thinking this. Zaha seems the more exciting option.

There's always a first time, Lukaku has been garbage away from home this season. Sigurdson looked great today, don't see him blanking yet AGAIN next week, keep him if you've still held on to him.

I have Nyom, Bertrand and JWP for the bench next week.

Gabbiadini (che) is the one I would bench if I get one good player in for the aforementioned players.

Valencia, Gibson and Henessey are my DGW players.

    0.7 ITB and 1 FT

    Should I:

    A) Mawson (4.5) > Rojo
    B) Nyom (4.3) > Ward/Boro defender
    C) Lanzini > Zaha/Townsend
    D) Lanzini + Lukaku > Townsend + Ibrahimovic (-4)
    E) Other suggestion
