Is there too much emphasis on Team Value (TV)?

I know over the first few gameweeks, building up 0.5m could give you an edge, especially when planning an early wildcard. But does it distract us sometimes when making transfers?

Of the Top 50 in the world, 15 had a team value under 100m, though it must be mentioned that 43 used a chip.

In comparison, of the Top 50 players in the FFS league, 20 players had a team value less than 100m, of which only 7 used a chip.

I think most of us would agree that one Gameweek doesn't constitute form, so instead of rushing to bring in the Xhakas, Mounies, Hegazis (and so on) to gain value, why not wait for form to emerge in players that are not moving in the market.

The game is all about getting the most points you can. Yes a higher TV further into the season can lead to more points, but at this stage of the season, are we overlooking potential form in place of potential value?
