Dugout Discussion – Brighton vs Newcastle

Sunday’s solitary fixture gets underway at 4pm as promoted pair Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United square up at the Amex Stadium.

With many now filling their forward lines with premium frontman, we get the chance to run the rule over a trio of budget midfielders today.

The Seagulls’ Pascal Gross has played a part in all four of his side’s goals so far, serving up two goals and a pair of assists in his last two outings.

He was the second top transfer target for Gameweek 6, with over 381,000 transfers in.

For the Magpies, Matt Ritchie has bagged four assists in his previous three, while Christian Atsu’s goal and assist over his last two starts has also turned heads.

Indeed Ritchie and Atsu, along with team-mates Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba have been subject to heavy investment over the last week, with a combined 783,000+ transfers in.

Newcastle number one Rob Elliot is the most owned player for Sunday’s clash, sitting in 23.7% of squads after conceding just once in his previous three. Yet he is the most benched player in the Gameweek, with over 808,000 naming him among their subs.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Worth a FT to avoid playing Dunk (ARS) or just play him and save the FT for the int. break and so on

Cresswell at 5.0. Playing as a wingback and they have great fixtures.

It's also a decent option as he is an attacking threat. I'm not sure I fancy many Leicester clean sheets in these games though.

What should I do with Willian in my draft league? All the big hitters are taken but choupo, richarlison, and others are available.

    Foster
    Jones - Cedric - Alonso - Hegazi
    Salah - Alli - Ritchie
    Aguero(vc) - Lukaku(c) - Firmino

    Eliot, Mbemba, Carrol, RLC

Thinking: Alonso & Firmino -> otamendi & Morata

pretty much as Mendy is out injured, not knowing the extent yet but he is clearly first choice so yeah

Kola is a bit cheaper but so far City seems more apt for CS and offensive returns is pretty close so if price don´t matters i would go for Walker

morning dzz, triple newcastle didnt pay off (why am i not surprised  )...have 1ft and 0m itb...early thoughts on this?

    Forster -- elliot
Bertrand Valencia Kola --- Wimmer (SOT) Mee
Mkhi Salah Ritchie Willian -- carroll
    Kane Kun Joselu

    - Willian somehow has survived in my team coz he has been passing the eye test but need to finally cut loose now. team can be played a 4-4-2 coz i have 3 premium def and one rotating pair

A: Willian >> RLC. Play 4-4-2 and use the funds next gw to upgrade ritchie/joselu next gw
    B: Save FT and next gw do valencia + willian >> 4m def + 9.5m mid...means i continue playing 3-4-3
C: Willian >> Ramsey/Brady/Gross....and keep the team flexible..bench one of my players with a bad fixtures

    I would sell Willian

    I have Alli, Salah, Mkhytarían.

    So who should I buy?

    A) Coutinho (I have Salah)
    B) Hazard (less minutes)
    C) DeBruyne (expensive)
    D) Mané (I have Salah)
    E) Sané/Sterling (rotation risk)
    F) Antonio (shitty team)
    G) else (??)

think of them as individual items, if you believe Mané to score more than the other then go for it no matter if you have salah or not

but Silva looks like a bargain at the price, it is like Eriksen only a million cheaper...

Not going to do it until injury confirmed but assuming Antonio is out, who is the best replacement up to 8.0?

    A. Pedro
    B. Arnautovic
    C. Ritchie
    D. Mata
    E. Other

Not seeing a lot of options in that price range so swaying towards Pedro at the moment.

If your wildcarding maybe go for a punt in Pedro. I think Ritchie is the safe option as he is central to Newcastle while hazard and morata will be the point scorers for Chelsea but Pedro for a few weeks before a wc with their fixtures is a good shout

Sterling is good but too risky. If it's for your 2nd mid Pedro would be fine, but if it's your 3rd mid I suggest to downgrade to around 6.0 price, Ritchie or Gross

Good morning everyone. I guess I can hang on until int break and GW8 before I wildcard this lot? Or would you wildcard this team immediately. Could also save a FT to play "mini-wildcard" and do three transfers during the break.

    Foster
    Davies, Jones, Kolasinac
    Willian, Eriksen, Mkhitaryan, Choupo-Moting
    Lukaku, Aguero, Firmino

    Subs: Elliott --- T.Carroll, Stuttner, Long --- 0.1 ITB, 1 FT

    A) Willian -> Ramsey
    B) Save FT
    C) Wildcard

Hello everyone, need some advice 🙂

I want to bank a transfer for the int'l break, but wanted your views on whether I need some urgent changes in the team:

    Foster (Elliot)
    Bavies Maguire Otamendi (Lascelles Love)
    Ritchie Gross Mkhi Silva (Carroll)
    Kaku Kane Morata

    Let me know your thoughts!

Yeah, Palace really are down in the dumps.

My only concern is that they are at rock bottom, and there'll eventually be a match where they finally show some spine

Kane away is a solid option too I suppose - will be a final day decision eventually

don't get me wrong Kane is an excellent option and what you said above could happen but lukaku captaincy is safe option and as a United fan definitely going to chuck the armband on him this week. Another reason I'm putting it on him this week is I'm likely to get rid after this week as his fixtures turn for the worse after palace

Morning gents. Solid start to the season around 26k OR. Thinking save FT this week then look to shift Firmino for Kane or Morata over the international break using 2 FT?

    Foster
    Jones Cedric Naughton
    Alli Salah Silva Atsu
    Aguero Lukaku Firmino

    Elliot Mee Mbemba Chalobah

    0.8 in bank.

Why not have both? It's a strikers league at the moment

    What to do here??

    Foster
    Bertrand Otamendi Trippier
    Salah Mikhi Choupo-Moting Brady
    Firmino Kane Lukaku

    Elliot Yoshida Gamez Choupo-Moting

    1 FT, 0.9 ITB

Or do I roll my FT so I have 2 the following week to upgrade Firmino and change defence??

    Thanks

Best player to replace Hegazi for this team. I have exactly 5.0 to spend.

    Foster
    Hegazi* Davies Jones Cedric
    Silva Mkhy Alli
    Lukaku Firmino Aguero

    Elliot Carroll Rlc Smith

    Should be GTG for GW7?

    Foster
    Davies/Jones/Cedric
    Salah/Miki/Ritchie/TC
    Kane/Kaku(c)/Kun

    Elliot/Chalobah/Mbemba/Lowe

and before GW8 I plan to do, with 2FT, Kaku Miki to Morata Silva.

According to the set piece section Shaqiri is on all set piece duties including penalties (Adam is not a starter). Im not so sure about penalties though. But if he is, he is - imho - a much better pick than Ritchie and even cheaper at 5.9 + a great differential when Stokes fixtures turn around (gw9)

I like the looks of Stokes attack.. do you think there are other Stoke players that are better value for money // will earn more points than Shaq? CM or Jese perhaps?

it's his inconsistency and he's injury prone

Injury prone or not he is easy to replace with that humble pricetag.. would you rather go for CM or Jese?

Honestly, I wouldn't go near them till they sort their defence out - they just seem to be focusing on covering for their backline instead of going forward/attacking

Lak you have to take their opposition into consideration.. They have met top teams... (MCU CHE). Want have the same difficuelties against weaker opponents..

    RMT
    Gomes(Elliot)
    Jones Bavies Mee (Wimmer)(Evans)
    Silva Salah Mkhi (Carroll)(Chalobah)
    Kane Morata Vardy

have exact funds for Evans to kola or wimmer to otamendi
