The Gameweek Team News

Tammy Abraham is rated 50:50 for Swansea City’s home clash against Bournemouth. Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are both ruled out for Manchester United. West Ham pair Marko Arnautovic and Andre Ayew are in contention for the visit of Leicester, while Patrick van Aanholt is back in the frame for Palace’s Selhurst Park meeting with Stoke City.

Here’s our summary of the key team news so far, with an array of big press conferences still to come this afternoon.

Jose Mourinho has been the latest Premier League manager to reveal his hand this morning, confirming that both Phil Jones and Eric Bailly miss the Old Trafford encounter with Brighton. Chris Smalling therefore looks assured of his start, with Marcos Rojo perhaps deployed alongside him having impressed on his return to the starting XI on Wednesday. Mourinho also revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will again feature from the bench, while Paul Pogba will start but “cannot go more than 65 to 70 minutes” before being withdrawn.

Steve Sidwell remains the only absentee for the visitors.

Marko Arnautovic and Andre Ayew are both available for West Ham United’s home meeting with Leicester City tonight, but Michail Antonio and James Collins remain out of the picture, despite a return to training this week. Manager David Moyes is preserving that pair for a possible return at Everton in midweek.

Meanwhile, Foxes boss Claude Puel has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the London Stadium, with Robert Huth and Matty James the only absentees.

Patrick van Aanholt has recovered from a hamstring injury, and is available for Crystal Palace’s home encounter against Stoke City. But Lee Chung-yong and Connor Wickham remain out.

Jack Butland and Geoff Cameron are still sidelined for the Potters, while Mark Hughes revealed Xherdan Shaqiri is “okay”, having only been substituted during Monday night’s 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion as a precaution due some tightness he felt before the match.

Rafa Benitez will be without the suspended Isaac Hayden for the visit of Watford to St James’ Park but could risk Mikel Merino as his replacement. The Spaniard is back in training after a back problem, though he could be protected for the trip to West Brom on Tuesday. Left-back Paul Dummett is another who is close to a return and could feature against the Hornets.

For Watford, Kiko Femenia has trained fully this week following the leg problem that forced him over during the 2-0 win over West Ham United, and is available. Troy Deeney serves outs his three-match ban at St James’ Park.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home clash against West Bromwich Albion. Erik Lamela is close to a first-team return, and could feature among the substitutes.

Baggies interim boss Gary Megson has also escaped any added injuries ahead of the trip to Wembley, with James Morrison and Nacer Chadli his only absentees.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has revealed that Tammy Abraham has been unable to train prior to today due to a back injury, and is rated as “50/50” for the home fixture with Bournemouth. Wilfried Bony is set to earn a recall should the Chelsea loanee miss out.

Junior Stanislas and Jermain Defoe will both miss the trip to south Wales, while Simon Francis is suspended.

Southampton have their own suspension to contend with, as Oriol Romeu misses the home meeting against Everton. Mario Lemina is back in training and will face a late assessment with Mauricio Pellegrino hopeful that he can step in.

Meanwhile Toffees duo Tom Davies and Oumar Niasse miss Sunday’s trip to St Mary’s with their own bans. Niasse begins a two-match suspension having been charged with the “Successful Deception of a Match Official” following the penalty award at Palace in Gameweek 12.

Huddersfield Town head coach David Wagner welcomes back Christopher Schindler for the visit of Manchester City to the John Smith’s Stadium, following the defender’s one-match ban. Jonathan Hogg is also available again after missing the 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth due to the birth of his son.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tonight’s 7.00pm deadline, which includes our predicted line-ups. Keep an eye on our official Twitter account for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from the remaining press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly.

They should sneak in a major injury not in bold.

They should really drop jokes or mess with people in the text.

2FT, 0.0ITB and no wildcard. Squad currently is:

    Elliot - Foster
    Alonso - Duffy - Lowton - Zanka - Mbemba
    Salah - Silva - Sterling - Richarlison - TCarroll
    Kane - Jesus - Firmino

    What should I do?

    a. Sterling > Pogba
    b. Jesus > Morata
    c. Do both A and B
    d. Sterling + Firmino > Hazard + Wilson
    e. Zanka + Sterling > Otamendi + Zaha

Hey all, haven't been on much. How is everyone?

Are you going Kane or Lukaku captain?

Who are you expecting big things from, who is your differential?

      Hello

Kane but I don't own Lukaku, still think I'd captain Kane given the WBA turmoil

Feel another Kolasnic haul coming 😎

Never really consider Salah myself. That game looks too unpredictable for me, but I'm overly cautious. It's hurting me a bit this year :/

SCOUT PICKS CHALLENGE - GAMEWEEK 13

Results are coming I promise.. this weekend is catch up.

    ****** WHAT IS IT? ******

For those of you who haven't been around or aren't aware, every evening prior to the start of the gameweek FFS releases their picks of players for the gameweek, "Scout Picks", as well as 3 differentials before the first games to separate yourself from the crowd.

This is your way to have a bit of fun and challenge those scout picks with a set of your own (read instructions below). This will always open the day before the gameweek starts around 8pm, and whilst you don't have to play weekly, the more you play the better chance you have of winning!

Gameweek winners will also be awarded a spot in the Community Roundup article.

    ****** INSTRUCTIONS ******

Everyone can have their own scout picks (there is no limit on team value) but with one simple rule,

YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE PLAYER FROM EACH TEAM
(yes, two of your players at least will be on opposing teams).

You can only have ONE submission, and your FIRST submission will be what is accepted. You also must respond DIRECTLY to this post (not to a reply on this post). FFS Scout Picks are automatically enrolled. Teams must comply with FPL formation rules and be submitted in an easy to read format, e.g.

    GK
    DEF DEF DEF
    MID MID MID MID
    FOR FOR FOR

Deadline for this gameweek is Friday 24th November 6.45pm.

    ****** SCORING ******

Regardless of number of applicants, scoring will be done by the following:

    1st place: 3 points
Top 4% of the population will rank "second" and score 2 points.
Top 10% of the population will rank "third" and score 1 point.

There is also a bonus point which everyone is eligible for. If you score higher than FFS' Scout Picks AND Differential Picks (i.e. 14 players), you will be awarded with a bonus point regardless of whether you were in the top 10% scoring positions or not.

Welcome to the game, and good luck.

    ***** THE STANDINGS *****

    1st - Bregg Zit (10pts)
    2nd - A Manager Has No Name (8pts)
    3rd - Skloppy Kops, Apples... Oranges (7pts)

Davies owners – is there light at the end of the tunnel with the rumoured Rose problems...do we expect him to play this gameweek? should we finally sell up? Can't believe I've still got him TBH, but strangely reluctant to sell...

Davies should start this weekend but you need to think of an exit plan post this weekend.

He should start this gameweek so I’m keeping him for this week and selling for Alonso next week.

Rose started the CL match so I think he will rotated.

Ive gone with Alonso, Kola, Walker, Mee with Davies. Playing him but well covered for subs. Think he could be worth holding. they have great fixtures and he's well capable of hauling

What are our thoughts on Liverpool vs Chelsea?

    Goal-fest or snooze-fest?

      Snoozapalooza. 1-1 I think.

I’m thinking 1-1 too, to be honest. Liverpool are good at home but Chelsea have tightened up with Kante back.

I'm expecting a sort of goal fest. A 3-2, 3-3 kind of game.

    Fabianski, Elliot
    Jones*, Daniels, Moreno, Mee, Mariappa
    Salah, Sterling, Zaha, Richarlison, Carroll
    Aguero, Kane, Morata

Think I will go Aguero > Lukaku as can't even trust captain Kun vs Hudd (!)
But need to sell Jones to so:

    A) Jones > Mustafi
    B) Fabianski, Jones > Courtois, Dann -4
    C) Fabianski, Jones > Speroni, Otamendi -4

Which team you expect to keep a clean sheet? (i know that both will concede 🙂 )

    1) Swansea (Naughton)
    2) Southampton (Cedric)

Was pretty set on captaining Sane until I remembered that Huddersfield are resilient at home (apart from that 4-0 loss against Spurs). Could this be Harry 'blanks-at-home-alot' Kane's week, considering that this is a Pulis-less West Brom coming to Wemberley?

      Could be, maybe..

Better stick with the team that has been smashing everyone left, right and centre this season. Form + fixture = Sane (c).

Count the points...I got him for under 8m and is one of the highest scoring players in the best and most attacking team in the league. Sane seems the best option but a million more .. I'd have both personally.

I think I'm taking a -4 to switch him to Sane (Jones to Dann)

But ideally, I would have both.

I have Sterling and Aguero - I think I'm going to do Kun for Wilson and TCarroll for Sane as both those going are dead wood. So Sterling will survive and if things get bad for him a swap for Pogba looks handy.

Thoughts on this WC team would be appreciated:

    DDG (Elliot)
    Daniels Davies Mustafi (Moreno Mee)
Salah Sane Pogba Richarlison (Cork - don't get the RLC love)
    Kane Morata Wilson

In 2 weeks Davies/Wilson > Azpi/Niasse for the Chelsea run. Davies didn't play midweek so looks set this weekend.

    Cheers in advance folks

Looking a tough gameweek for my side. I think the Liverpool v Chelsea match will be quite tight and having Salah, Mane, Hazard and Azpi may not reap much rewards.

Yeah I have Salah, Morata, Azpi and Moreno (benched) so not expecting a lot from them! Pool to win to 0 would be good for me Fantasy-wise and as a fan (rival has Salah, Morata, Hazard and Azpi) but I doubt that'll happen!

Jones, Naughton, Lukaku > Azpi, Dummett, Morata for a -4
