A Gameweek under lights has been thrown into mild turmoil by key injuries and breaking transfer speculation. It remains to be seen if Fantasy managers can still emerge from such a scenario with big scores.
Tuesday eases us in with three of the ten fixtures, with the John Smith’s Stadium undoubtedly the main focus.
That’s the venue for Huddersfield Town’s clash with a Liverpool side awash with key Fantasy assets, including the top scoring and top owned pick, Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian heads into this clash with an incredible record of a goal or an assist in 13 of his last 15 appearances and, having blanked in the 1-0 defeat to Swansea last time out, he is understandably backed to deliver.
Roberto Firmino’s record is also strong. The Brazilian has produced double-digits in three of his last five away days, while he scored against the Terriers at Anfield back in Gameweek 10.
Both start, though Jurgen Klopp’s teamsheet springs one major surprise, with Virgil van Dijk – brought in by 41,000 ahead of tonight’s deadline – left on the bench, presumably rested for the weekend visit of Spurs.
His height could be missed in the Liverpool backline given that the Terriers have chosen to opt for both Laurent Depoitre and Steve Mounie as a pair in attack. David Wagner also bids to mimic Swansea’s stubborn performance against the Reds by deploying a back five.
Elsewhere tonight, it’s Arsenal’s turn to try and break down the Swans’ rearguard with Arsene Wenger choosing to leave new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the bench at the Liberty Stadium.
Meanwhile, an injury-ravaged West Ham host Crystal Palace at the London Stadium, with a number of key Fantasy assets on the sidelines.
