Our attentions turn to the weekend’s matches as we delve into the data this evening. We cast an eye over Villa’s in-form duo, assess a couple of Sunderland prospects and analyse the goal threat of Hull’s weekend hero and Liverpool’s little Brazilian as the two go head-to-head at the KC tomorrow.
I personally think that Monreal is nailed, Welbz will get some time but may be benched a lot and l would steer well clear of Wilshere personally.
I'm starting to think 2 defs and 1 mid. Like we did with Chelsea. Seems safest option
Is Monreal going to play regularly or will Gibbs get gametime?
Don't know but Kos would be a safe bet
Monreal is defo nailed on imo. Gibbs might get played in match 2 of the DGW but l could defo see Monreal playing every game left
Why is the Leicester v Chelsea listed as postponed on the sky sports new fixtures app
Still there on BBC sport
OK phew. Admin error I guess
Yeah l hope. And No Schulpp or Vardy please hahaha 🙂
I hope the vardmeister plays... He's on my team. Sounds like he may not though based on persons comments about resting players and vary getting injections before the last game.
*Vardinho
Was just taking a look at Kenneth Tang's team (#4 in the career HoF), and wow what a WC he played this week - http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/213258/event-history/34/
71 points, 11 DGWers, and subsequently halving his rank getting into the top 10k, at 5k now. Set-up perfectly for DGW 37 with Sanchez, Giroud, and Ospina in place plus Alderweireld to boot. Damn, that is impressive. Also impressive, he shat on Gw31 with 108 points, and halved his rank that week to 15k.
Has he ever posted here?Wow that's impressive. I have 66 points with 6 to play but that's average compared to these guys lol.
Aye, you still have a very good score though, better than many WC-ers including myself 🙂
Just got back from seeing the new Avengers flick 😀
John Steed and Emma Peel?
I seem to have rather a lot of lovely Aqualigia this year ILF...
Goodo, I hope the colours are good and strong.
Aye..all good. It's been a good year for them. Even all my existing ones are really big and healthy..
I've given some space to Raspberries and strawberries, hoping for great things from them this year. Autumn raspberries. Fingers crossed, my garden is like a wind tunnel where they are but it's worth a shot.
JK is too young to get the reference.. As am I but my mum watches the reruns on ITV4.
I got the reference, I just totally failed to come up with a witty response
I also know of the New Avengers with Diana Rigg
#culturedHonor Blackman, Diana Rigg (Emma Peel) & Linda Thorson were in The Avengers.
The New Avengers featured Joanna Lumley (Purdey) and Gareth Hunt (Gambit).
Patrick McNee (John Steed) was the lead character in both.
I'm younger again, but that's easy-peasy trivia banter
So a group of Chelsea fans defaced the statue of Herbert Chapman outside Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium after yesterday's game.
Wow.Not good.
Just pathetic. Some fans behave like they are stuck in the seventies or eighties...
😕 2 awful sets of supporters hell bent on underclassing each other.
Every club has their share of them still...just piggin stupid tribal nonsense.
Oh definitely agree there, more than enough morons everywhere.
These 2 always stuck out for me though, and a couple other London sides too come to think of it
i suspect a lot of professional footballers are juiced up. Ronaldo and Bale spring to mind.
Yeah, I'm always pretty wary of it.. Ronaldo in particular.
Think most sports are pretty loaded with users.
Anyone else unable to watch tonight's scoutcast?
Won't load on YouTube for me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuUzT3801_k
Just loaded for me.
Anyone up for a game of Monopoly?
Yay, I can post again, 24 hour Wordpress bug resolved
Will try one of these now
🙂Ok I'm a bit uglier but it's good to be back 😀
Whoops, sorry Krickey.
No thanks, btw.😆
I was trying to make a Monopoly connection to these commentsIt was LightNight in the study and he used a candlestick.
😀 So wrong in oh so many ways!!!
lol, don't go all King Jodfrey on me!
Good news! 😉
Hi boss
Hi RCA - did you see the Bournemouth win tonight?
I didn't, no. Stuck on an hotel work overnight catching up with 61 e mails 🙁
Big congrats! I hope you have another Trippier who can take the PL by storm with loads of assists.
Oh wait.
New emojis, have no emoji 🙁
We want Ozil!!!
Good to see a cheerier Granville in the scoutcast.
That Welbeck punt is one I hadn't thought of. And some decent thinking behind it too from Mark. HmmmThe most important issue is "Was Aleks mentioned?"
❓
Clawed an 80 point deficit down to just 3 in a month
If I pull off victory this year I think it's definitely time to give up, not sure I'll ever beat my highest rank, or top this for a comeback.
But I do love FPLThe certainties of life are death, taxes and playing fantasy football 🙂
Don't quit. We love you! 😳
Breadbin, is that you?
My high rank was 3,480, and I discovered this place about half way through that season. Then I had the Euros
It's been downhill from there.Nah, not enough reason to quit. I've only had 1 top 10k in 5 years. But still enjoy FFS, probably a bit more than FPL itself!
this is just it
a) My enjoyment of FPL is decreasing, feel like it's dominating my life (i.e affectong my mood etc) and it shouldn't do that
b) I'm enjoying FFS less. I can deal with the lighthearted stuff from people like you or Demi but there's too many people in here with attitude/ my mother doesn't show me enough love problems who seem to want to dictate what people can and can't post.a) yep , I've felt that too a bit this season. Affecting my mood, but not my life 😉
But real life usually catches up again and I forget the pain and look forward to the next GW!
b) take a break from FFS over the summer. No WC/ EC etc. ideal time to do it and come back refreshed!B is a good point, but sadly those posters will still be here if I came back.
as for A I think maybe I just need to remember why I started playing FPL in the first place and go back to that.
easy, just do what I'm doing now..don't think about your own team at all until Friday..ignore prices, ignore heavy planning and multiple drafts. on Friday do a bit of recon, go with your gut and make your changes over the course of an hour.
spent all season thinking about too many contingencies, doubted myself regularly and made last minute swaps on captains, got talked into terrible transfers and found myself at 200k.
last 3 gameweeks just casually chatted in here during the week because the community is fun. I absorbed but didn't plan for my own team. and then on Friday actually did my transfers in a matter of 10 minutes or so and got on with life and I've moved up over 100k places..
I never care much about rank
On reflection, it's probably only if Kolarov left the PL, that I'd stop playing FPL😀
this could be your last year then 😯
😥 I'll take the time to say goodbye to ye now just in case, as I don't think I'd have the heart to come back if it were confirmed
OR ruins this game in many respects.
Very true, ridiculous formations/restrictions/captain choices is the only way for me 🙂
Sterling haul and Moreno no show???
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPw-3e_pzqU
😛I'm expecting the Moreno no show
Sterling haul is what scares me
But given Pearson has talked of sacrificing the Chelsea game to keep his key players fresh for matches v teams around them, Hazard could go nuts
Hull don't have that luxuryI actually think both games will be really tight.
Pearson to field 10 reserve defenders and Kasper as things stand, and Hull will sit deep with no striker against themwell there's Balot... oh never mind, you're right
Would take a Moreno no show. Fancy Sterling in this game. Hope he does something to make me proud of him... 😉 🙂
That Alderweireld pick from Kenneth Tang is surprising. Sunderland next but then Leicester and Villa, who've both been scoring lots of goals. City on the final day.
yeah I don't think Saints defence is a must anymore without Forster
But I have Smalling, so what do I know?He should be good for the next two. 🙂
Seems a pretty good set up actually ... Similar to mine except i had only 10 dgwers + aguero.
Then the plan for gws 35,36 and 37 was to bring in 1 player each week from ars/sun so that would have the maximum 6 dgwers for gw37.
Looking at his team, looks like he will bring in pva, defoe/wickham and probably a sun mid (larsson?) in the next 3 weeks ...
Night all
Noighty noight
Aguero and Silva (out) - Sanchez and Giroud (in) yay or nay?
Nay from me. If you can't afford to do one of those on their own (which I suspect is the case, I would save and do them the week after)
Really pleased for Bournemouth and their fans. Every "town"club should hope for their day in the sun and now they have it.
What is the derby rivalry like between Bournemouth and Soton ?....anybody know ?Fairly minimal at mo, but sure to 'develop' a little in the forthcoming months...
Good. It'll be nice to see it develop....some how I can't see it becoming a viscous rivalry.
I went on holiday to Cornwall in 2011, so sort of in the same neck of the woods. ish.
So, I feel I'm eminently qualified to answer this one.
Emmm, not sure.
I am old enough to remember 'Arry beating United in the FA cup when they were holders. That was good 🙂Cornwall's miles away. Haha. 😀
Lovely part of the world down there. I'd one of my favourite holidays in Bournemouth/Southampton/Poole. Is it The Black Forrest that's down there as well...?I'm going to Poole for my hols this year.
Nice. I was only about 10 or 11, but I still remember a fair few aspects of the holiday. My Mum got to see the set etc. of 'Howard's Way', which she loved. . .
We usually go to Weymouth but we're having a change. I want to take my older lads to a few more grown up places...The new forest, Isle of Wight, Soton docks...all that stuff. And still be in reach of Weymouth.
New Forest, though they do a nice gateaux.
Looking forward to that....
@Flynn. I just nearly choked on my toast reading this. Very good.
I know a Bournemouth fan, he's never said anything vicious about Southampton from my memory. 🙂
Maybe they can teach the rest of the prem a thing or two about "friendly" derbies. That would be good.
That's good enough for me. Literally every football fan I know has slagged all their rivals at some stage 🙂
Never noticed anymore than the typical "local rival" vibe.
Do Lucy and Ships get on all right? 🙂They (Bournemouth) will surely need to develop that stadium of theirs, yeah...??
I'd imagine so, it's tiny.
Hopefully civil. Nothing more annoying than Pool/Everton, Utd/City, Spurs/Arsenal dick swinging contests
I wouldn't expect it to be so intense as Southampton v Portsmouth, but O'Lucy should know.
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32480159
Poor old SuperDunnyI was very friendly with his lifelong best friend at college and Uni. He got another one of our friends a signed and framed England shirt wh
. Of course that was the only ever cap he got. . .
I'm a Blackburn lad through and through. Players like this are fantastic for clubs...any club. Local lads Dunne good (pardon the pun). It doesn't matter what trophies they win, or don't win, what matters is that they are local heroes...Top stuff.
Good evening. Are we winning?
Not losing as badly as previously.
Good to hear it! For me this is the gameweek which just keeps getting worse. Wish it would just end!
Getting an absolute thrashing this GW so no, not really 🙁
Tell me about it
HOw do Cheese. Average for me but what can you expect with no WC I suppose.
Interesting to hear Mark talk about holding off on getting Arsenal assets till we know more info. I would of thought we don't have that luxury considering we should seek Sunderland assets as well. Or is the assumption that we shouldn't bother wasting transfers on Sunderland players? I have none so perhaps thats a fair point.
Plenty here will have 6. Haven't your 3 DGW results shown that less is average isn't optimal?
Yeah but does history always repeat? I could have 6 if I want but are we missing a trick elsewhere because we need to bring in Wickham, PVA and Pants?
Most already have at least one of the last 2. I already have 3 out of the 6 and hopefully can get the other 3 for free. One Sunderland CS will make a big difference in the top 10K.
Yeah so we have different starting points. I have 2 Arsenal but one of those is Bellerin. Not in the greatest position here so would need every FT and a hit to max out and thats assuming Bellerin is set to play both games.
Take away the 3 DGWs and you probably have a rank close to the best. I'm sure you address that better next season.
Yep its definitely been a lesson learned. The SGWs have gone great for me in the second half of the season but its been badly let down in the DGW's.
The gap to #1 is 171. Without the 3 DGWs it's 109.
Yep, I can honestly say every DGW has been a disaster for me so far.
One failed penalty kick was a killer for those gambling on a Burnley goal instead of taking a (-4). It was actually a reasonable ploy.
Yep, I can't say I made a mistake backing Burnley to do something. It hit the post, fine margins.
Very. I wrote about making the conscious decision to avoid the (-4) before the GW. Sadly, as you say, fine margins.
It certainly was. When luck is going your way, these things happen. Burnley have struggled to score recently (0 in 4) so it wasn't a big surprise.
Seasons end can be a strange time for picks....and hit or miss...
I'll try to get Van Aanholt and already have Pantilimon. If price changes rule him out and I have to get a 3.8/9 defender instead, so be it.
Are you happy with just those 2 Sunderland players? not interested in Wickham or anyone else for GW37?
Closer to the time if one of my players is not performing, I'll consider a third Sunderland player.
I would think plenty will be banking their transfer this GW
I have Fabregas and honestly I have no confidence in him, was always an easy out to an Arsenal player.
Yup agreed. Already have pants pva and gru.
Gw35: fab to ramsey
Gw36: coutinho to ozil
Gw37: ndoye to wickham/defoe
Nah! Given their fixtures and form I can't take the Sunderland options seriously.
Fighting for their survival though?
I have it on very good authority that Adam Johnson won't play again this season. I'm in a bit of a HuttonDressedasLamb situation but I can't really divulge much on my source.
It wouldn't surprise me. The whole legal situation doesn't look promising.
He definetely won't Ryan.
Fair enough. Not sure on Sunderland midfield assets anyway. There aren't any stand out options.
Nah, not taken by Larsson much.
I think Wickham is interesting as a last minute transfer. Particularly if Kane continues in his slump.
Maybe cos its easier to decide the Sunderland assets. Getting Panti and PVA wont cost much. Most already have and easy to stick on the bench. Whereas deciding which 9m Arsenal mid to bring in is a much more daunting task and potentially more important to your success in the DGW
Surely Sanchez is a nailed on as they come? I'm guessing his price is making it difficult for people.
Perhaps Ozil
Yeah I think he's the best bet for the 3rd Arsenal spot. Either him or Koscielney who are as nailed on as they come.
Price may be an issue for some alright. Personally I think Sanchez and Giroud are a given. I was talking more about that 3rd Arsenal spot thats up for grabs.
Giroud should be a given but there might be some weight to the Welbeck against United argument particularly if Giroud drops his form.
It was interesting to hear that alright but it seems even when Welbeck plays, its alongside Gru. Cant see him being ousted really. Welbeck has hardly been tearing it up.
And he's probably more likely to play on the wing.
yeah which adds to the conundrum of Arsenal mids. May just go Kosc to be safe. Actually I currently own Bellerin but cant see Debuchy not getting some minutes there even though Bellerin has been great
Yeah I have Bellerin too, bit of a tough one to deal with actually.
I have a slight advantage in already owning Gru and getting Sanchez this week so getting Bellerin out isnt too pressing for me. He may be my switch to PVA if I want to get an Arsenal mid
I have Giroud and plan on getting Sanchez this week as well. Just 0.1 off getting that sorted by selling Bellerin. Will have to downgrade Toby instead
Had to do the same myself. The benefit of which was it gave me some extra cash to get Skrtel over Moreno. Small victories eh?
I wish I had just gone for a bit of Arsenal and forgotten the DGW last week. At least I would look handy this week
Hard call that Cheese. Esp with Arsenal playing Chelsea
For the same reason I had to get Moreno 😆 I couldn't have afforded Sanchez this week otherwise.
All I know is my team was crap this week and looks pretty crap for next week. It has gone a bit downhill
Ouch Ryan. Tough pill to swallow that. I saw nothing between them really. Cheese i believe in you kid. Get your differentials out 😉
My differentials are private and only for me and Mrs Cheeseoid
Ooh err govner! 😆
It really depends on our top 3 situation. Ozil is most nailed though and then it's close between Rambo and Sanchez. Sanchez has played too much football the last 10 months and Rambo has injured himself before playing too frequently.
Rambo is much more likely to get rotated though, particularly as he's playing on the flank. Sanchez is nailed on and he doesn't like being rested.
I think the WBA match in GW38 is more likely for rotation but if top 3 is secured (which would mean us winning at Old Trafford probably) then no attackers are safe for Sunderland.
In Rambo's favour are his positional flexibility, his good engine, and presumably less fatigue due to missing a chunk of the season through injury.
Its possible that Cazorla misses a game and Rambo moves back to CM.
Yes, please. I want to transfer Rambo in and then sit back and watch those freakishly timed runs into the box from CM.
REPOST..
Depending on the midweek Chelsea game, is this an acceptable couple of transfers?
Vardy and Courtois to Giroud and Panti for a -4. Not enough cash to do Vardy to Giroud but enough to do Vardy to Benteke.
I'm assuming Jose will give Cech a run if the league is won.
Worth it?Yeah it probably is for the reason's you described. I don't necessarily believe Cech will play considering he will be sold anyway. The risk remains though and I'm not sure I'd want all that cash tied up back there. Pants is a solid DGW option as well.
No, save FT and do it a week later.
Re. Cech, most Chelsea fans would expect him to play GW38 vs Sunderland. And Jose is quite capable of sentiment when nothing is at stake. I think you'll be safe with T-Bo until then.
Anyone here considering Mertsacker'Monreal? They semm like the only nailed on defenders apart from Ospina?
Koscielny is more nailed than Mertesacker
So there are rumors circulating that De Gea is off to Real on a 6 year deal and the fee is a pitiful 18m.
If this is true, fk him for not signing a new contract and going for that amount. After all United did for him, it would be a massive kick in the teeth. Also what a joke United will look like if we let him go for an amount that pathetic.
Better just be a stupid rumor. It better be just a rumour, that is pitiful. Will be so annoyed if he goes for just that.
Surely other clubs will put in a bid for him if thats all he's worth though. RM will miss out.Where else would he go though? He wants to be with his girlfriend and Barca don't need him.
Even Athletic could probably outbid RM if thats his price
Playing for Real Madrid is just about the pinnacle of club football anywhere in the world...why would he not?....United has been very good to him but if he is ambitous enough to play for United then he will be ambitous enough to play for Madrid.
I have no problem with him leaving for Madrid, that's not the issue. I cannot begrudge a professional their ambition, plus he wants to be with his girlfriend.
For me it's that he's refusing to sign a new deal at United to get the club a fee they deserve after sticking by him through thick and thin while he was very much rough around the edges and being slated week in and out by the fans and the media. So your only problem with it would be the money side of it ? whats that matter to a club that sh!ts money like a donkey
It's more about the statement and principle than the money itself.
Theres the risk then that Real wouldnt go for him. Everybody already seems to think its a done deal. He signs a new contracta dn United jack up the price, whos to say Real just wont say 'thanks, but no thanks' I know its not their nature, but if you genuinely wanted to play for Madrid would you risk that?
Would he go to Real though? He played all his young years at Atletico..
I've read that many of the Atletico fans have made it clear they would not hold it against him for moving to Real.
I see.. Makes the move easier for him even if he has a strong relationship with Atletico (Started playing for them at age 13). If Real wants him, surely he'll be interested.
He is, he's gone. Time to move on I guess, but United is coming out of this looking bad, guaranteed.
Hi Deadzoners! Still buzzing from Bournemouth's win tonight. Looking forward to the fixtures coming out in June's. One tip for next season, Matt Ritchie, assist magnet.
Surely not worthwhile at 5m though right? could even be 5.5?
Worth it at 5m, would be better value than Boyd.
Noted Ta. 5th mid or defender Ships?
Mid, takes a good corner too.
Defender would be Simon Francis, likes to get forward.
At 13G 17A, 5.5 would be the lowest imo.
Yep definitely
We should stop talking about him now. 🙂
😆
Night all, I have to go I can't believe I'm sitting here planning next year's team.
Night ILF.
Siem De JOng came back at the weekend and I instantly thought about next year 😀
He'll be crocked again by then. He was in my GW1 plans for a while as well as Arnie (ended up with Siggy on the bench 🙁
I ended up getting SIggy for SDJ last minute 😆 As a Newcastle fan I hope he's not crocked again. Great potential for us. Looks like we're doing a summer clear out as well. 10 players set to leave.
Will Cisse start come gwk36? Has to surely...
Now there's a tasty differential.
Hard to say mate. He's come off the bench so often now it seems he's somehow turned into an impact sub
No mention of Wally for gwk37? Might get decent minutes...
Deserves to be on the shop window at least. I reckon he gets a game against Sunderland on the wing.
Love him as an fpl prospect when he plays. After this seasons debacle though I don't think I'm prepared to go there again.
RvP or Falcao to start for United if Rooney is injured?
As a United fan I'd rather see Wilson play.
Morning all
Kane or Cambiasso this week?
Kane getting next to no service, hardly any attempts on goal, Spurs looking wiped out. City defence a shambles, though.
Cambiasso boss midfielder for free-scoring in-form team, lots of big lads to aim his balls at 😯 Newcastle playing like drunks in a snowstorm, absolutely hopeless.
It's a tricky one, could go either way.Time to sell Kane if you don't play him imo.
Kane. Spurs were bad at Burnley, better though against Villa and Soton.
Lol @ drunks in a snowstorm. Personally feel you have to play Kane though.
Got called away, thanks for the replies.
So I'm in a work mini league. Was very amused tonight when one of the lesser players (can't fault enthusiasm though) informed me he had (c) drogba this week. He was confused why I laughed so much. If bringing him in wasn't enough!
Lol, some people still think he's the Drogba of 5 years ago
There will be changes to the United lineup this week. LVG was right when he pointed out the lack of motivation in the players. Time to bring in players that are motivated.
In particular I'd like to see ADM, Januzaj and Wilson get a run out on the wings and up front.
9 years, 1 month ago
How much rotation do we see from Wenger in the coming weeks.............?
Monreal nailed?
Welbeck to get minutes?
Wilshire to feature?
Contemplating a punt for my 3rd Arsenal punt, but unsure of what to expect fro Arsene!?
