FFS Paddy Power Cup XI and Members Cup V – The Ninth Round Draws

This evening we roll out the semi-final draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI, as sponsored by Paddy Power, as well as see who has made it through to the final of the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

For the first time, Mark has reached the semi-finals of the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI, after ousting johni00 in the quarter-finals. He remains the competition’s highest placed manager, with an overall rank of 192, and faces Hutton Dressed as Lahm in the semi-finals.

Mark and Hutton Dressed as Lahm have failed to stock up on double Gameweek players and neither have an extra free transfer to use. Both have Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez in place, while Mark has a slight advantage with Hector Bellerin also in his side.

Meanwhile, 3,709th-placed faux_C faces HammersXI, who has an overall ranking of 636, in the other semi-final.

HammersXI already boasts Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Patrick van Aanholt in his side among key double Gameweek targets, while Faux C is also well stocked up with Costel Pantilimon, Sanchez and Van Aanholt already on board.

Faux C is proving an expert in cup competitions. His Gameweek 36’s score of 92 was enough to win the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI round 8’s top score prize of £25 worth of free bets with Paddy Power. He is also in the finals of the Fantasy Football Members Cup V and faces waltzingmatildas, who is ranked 4797 and is another who is well prepared for the double Gameweek. She has Sanchez, Bellerin and Pantillimon already in her team.

The semi-final draw for the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI can be found here, while the final draw for the Members Scout Cup V can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

I know he plays CAM mostly, and I would doubt he'll take Oscar's spot. So most likely going to be bought and loaned out for now.

Also going after another one, a Fluminese striker by name of Kenedy. Had a great breakthrough season.

    Giroud/Aguero/Kane

if Arsenal beats Man Utd then he doesn't need to unless he too wants to maintain the integrity of the league with Sunderland fighting for survival

difference between 2nd and 3rd is negligible..a little more money and some pride.

difference between 3rd and 4th however has auto-qualification for CL on the line..if United beat Arsenal and Hull then Arsenal can't lose one of their games vs Sunderland and WBA or they fall to 4th..in fact it's safer if they win both as GD could come into play (though not as likely)

The news that Koeman will start Gazzaniga against Villa leaves me with no playing goalkeepers this week. Koeman has confirmed Davis will start GW38 (and make his 300th appearance) however.

Is considering Davis -> Panti for -4 a good idea?

    Pros
    - Panti should score enough to break even at the least and with a clean sheet (or some decent save points) it would be worthwhile.
    - 2 games, twice the potential of clawing back the minus 4

    Cons
    - It would mean playing Panti at Chelsea in GW 38 although Davis has City so unlikely to be much of a difference there.

Only got £4.7m so not many alternatives beyond Schmeichel.

Given? You should definitely take a -4 though, Panti could rack up the save points against Arsenal and Chelsea

Is Given sure of a start? Too much of a risk imo unless Sherwood has said for sure.

I am feeling the save points could make it worthwhile. Cheers

Training is overrated. Backing up for Sunderland will be the hard part for him it seems.

Feels like the world is subliminally mocking me today, had a terrible exam and the weather is absolutely awful. Anyway, time to focus on what's really important:

    For the DGW:
    A) Kane > Wickham
    B) Hutton > PvA
    C) Save transfer (have 3 Arsenal, allows me to take a couple of punts in GW38)

      C.

3 Arsenal is plenty and 2 transfers in 38 will gain more points I think.

Looking for a forward differential over the last 2 weeks, how crazy would it be to buy Romelu Lukaku

I just remember him bagging a hat trick for WBA on the final day of the season 2 years ago but he was motivated for a move then

How is he playing these past gameweeks?

I rate him but others here obviously don't. Haven't seen enough of him lately though

He has been great in Europe though - 8 goals in 9 games

Maybe he it worth the punt?

    My big decision this week...

Which 4.4m defender to transfer in?

    A. Jason Shackell, Bur
    B. Ryan Taylor, New

Anything from Leicester at that price? I would fancy better CS potential.

But would go A of those two. Newcastle are a sinking ship

    So...

Given that Wenger said "Ramsey is not in training yet but he should be better tomorrow."

Its better to go for either Cazorla or Ozil as my 3rd Arsenal man?

    Moreno - CRY
    Schlupp - @SUN

But then which mid do you bench for him?

        Hendo or Haz for me

Or could just do Hendo to Sun Mid, but having a good first sub may be useful
        If Haz is benched

So, winning mini league by 24 points, second place has bellerin sanchez, I have ozil Sanchez.

    Do I:

    A) bring in bellerin
    B) get Ramsey

They have 2 ft I have 1 but already have 3 Sunderland. Block or not to block really?

    Cheers

I'd go B) Ramsey (or Cazorla)

If he has 2FT and an Arsenal space, he's likely to do something similar, no?

Does Wenger's latest quote make Ramsey a lot less of an option??

If he hasn't been training all this week will he really be risked with a cup final coming up/Wilshere back

Just read the article about Sunderland and Arsenal DGW stats and, having not been on much the week, I am wondering if people think Defoe is still a bit of a differential or if he is the mainstream choice for the Sunderland forward spot?

He is well ahead in terms of FPL transfers over Wickham so as a chaser I want to make sure I am differentiated enough to keep my possibilities for OR improvement high.

Am leaning that way -- had always had Defoe in mind for the spot but maybe without any spot kicks he is not that interesting.

What is the latest on Chelsea resting Hazard or Fabregas? Was planning on shipping Fabregas anyway, but should I get rid of Hazard as well?

    So either:
    A) Fabregas, Hazard -> Özil, Silva -4P
    B) Fabregas -> Özil
