FFS Paddy Power Cup XI Final Preview & Members Cup V Winner

This evening we preview the final of the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup XI, plus reveal the winner of the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

Waltzingmatildas was crowned the latest winner of our Members trophy, claiming a 75-61 victory over faux_C from Gameweek 37’s matches.

With both sides sharing so many assets, it was David Silva’s 9-point contribution and the 10-point return from Hector Bellerin that eventually saw Waltzingmatildas emerge victorious. She (Tanya Sharma) picks up a £200 Amazon voucher as her prize, while faux_C (Chris Doyle) claims a £100 voucher as his runners-up reward.

Chris has another opportunity to find glory, however, as his Gameweek 37 tally proved enough to see him progress to the final of the Paddy Power Cup XI. faux_C edged out HammersXI in our semi-final to move into Sunday’s final.

The big news is that Mark’s sensational run of form, propelling him to an overall rank of 64, has also earned him a place in Sunday’s showpiece to oppose Faux C. Mark’s impressive Gameweek 37 tally of 87 was enough to see off Hutton Dressed as Lahm in the semi-finals.

With a rank of 3825 faux_C goes into the tie as underdog but with markedly different squads, the tie is still hard to call. Our finalists have just three players in common – Jeffrey Schlupp, Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez. Mark’s key differential looks set to be David Silva, while faux_C will be hoping for a haul from Christian Benteke and Olivier Giroud to give him the edge in the tie.

HammersXI and Hutton DressedAs Lahm will now go head-to-head in Sunday’s third place play-off.

If you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a full rundown.

Congratulations to our winners and best of luck to Sunday’s finalists. Even Mark.

6 points clear in the ML. Rather has the following Silva, Benteke and Ivan.

Would you take a -4 to bring 1 or 2 of the above in to cover?

I've got the same Benteke problem, I'm thinking of taking a hit to cover. I wouldn't do more than -4

Yeah more than seems a little drastic. Probably best to cover!

Tough call, all of those 3 could deliver.
But maybe your 3 will too?

Coutinho, Kane and Bertrand. Probably not!

Even Haz is out. One will be easy to cover.

Mm his does seem 'more current' but by covering too much you may eliminate any diffs you have and your gifting him 4 points giving you a 2 pt lead,
Be careful this is like chess now, you need to sit down and think it through Gra.

It is starting to feel a little chess-like!

If I see he's made two moves. I'll know that I'll now have a 10pt. If that's the case I won't be so worried.

Haz to Silva feels like a good move. Or if Haz is playing. Coutinho to Milner and Bert to Azpi for a -4 is what I'm thinking at the moment.

I think I'll leave Kane where he is. If he scores 1 goal and I took a -4 hit for Benteke. Tekers is going to need to get at least a 10 to make the difference!

            Cheers for your thoughts HVT.

No prob, I can see your thinking it through.
Watch for his moves I take it you know how to more/less work them out.
He may be more anxious than you remember you have the lead he may need to be positive in his thinking you just need to reciprocate this, not easy I know.
Best of luck I'll see how you did on the other side!

I think you would cover Silva, but that would be all. Benteke may deliver, but hardly assured!

By the way, out of interest, how can you see how may transfers your rival has made? I did not know that was possible?

              Good luck this week!

Seems silly to take hits to cover. 6 points is such a slim lead, there's no way you can cover enough. Just do what you think is best for your team IMO without thinking about his team.

Not sure if his ban meant he couldn't train with the team but certainly lacking match fitness. Wouldn't be surprised if he's thrown in at the deep end this weekend though.

Not really - Krul will do, and no rush to change Sanchez, Silva, Coutinho or Albrighton.

Only other candidate is Kane, but as I am ahead in my ML and my rival will keep him, I am loathe to change that.

I think I might go with a Toby change - I can afford Cahill, and Zouma is out, so do you think that'd be sensible?

I suppose so, that looks as close a cs as I can see this week and you never know with Cahill, you'd expect Sunderland to be a little relaxed and Chelsea (tho short a few) eager to finish the season on a high.

Operation on Wednesday, 3 days to heal with some meds "if" he really needs them... he is in the same boat as Terry and Ivan to play all 38 games in the season, champions this year - personally, I don't see him missing out at all.

1 pt clear to climb into top 1k - will be close race between me and Shifty! Current team for GW38 is:

    Schmeichel (Panti)
Terry - Skrtel - Vlaar (PvA - Duff)
Sanchez - Ramsey - Silva - Cambiasso (Henderson)
    Giroud - Aguero - Benteke

    1 FT, £1.3 itb

Now that I don't have to worry about no Hazard, I'll hold off temptations for any hit. Trying to play reasonably safe, not transferring for wild punts.

    A) Ramsey/Henderson -> Puncheon/Bolasie/Mata/Young
    B) Skrtel -> Ivan
    C) Giroud -> Lukaku/Ulloa/Vardy
    D) other ??

So what do you guys think, is B) actually the safest choice here, or should I go with a more punty choice?

One stat I'd really like to come good today would be for Silva to top the mids for points per game.

    Currently
    Hazard 6.1
    Silva 6.1
    Sanchez 6.0

It would make him the second best pick in the game behind Aguero...and deservedly.

My thinking is Young has been involved in 6 of Man U's last 7 goals but may not play as carrying a slight injury to be fixed in the summer and Hull will be fighting for their lives.

Bolasie unpredictable against Fab going for golden glove.

        Seems a tough call.

I was going to do if he played last week....sadly he's just too risky.

He's already burnt me badly this season. His goals to minute ratio is one of the best in the league but he never seems to start...

Who is tempted to play PVA this week? Looking very dangerous of late...without Haz / Fabre, i think +99 morale to the Black Cats

Not in the slightest. I think Chelsea will be treating is as an exhibition match and they're likely to start Costa + Remy up front.

    Repost!

    Team is:

    Ospina, Schmeichel
    Ivanovic(SUN), Skrtel(stk), PvA(ars), Alderweirald(mci), McShane(MUN)
    Sanchez, Hazard, Cazorla, Henderson, Grealish
    Aguero, Benteke, Kane

    1 FT, 1.3 ITB

    A) Alderweirald ----> Azpi (To cancel rival's double Chelsea defence)
    B) Benteke ---> Lukaku
    C) Something else?

I have Grealish (BUR) coming on if Hazard doesn't play.

    Myhill (Foster)

Kos / Terry / PVA (Wollscheid / Naughton)

Haz / Sanchez / Coutinho / Puncheon (Cambiasso)

    Aguero / Giroud / Kane

    2ft... 1.8m itb

ML all wrapped up, best global ranking confirmed.

So question of the day is what would you do...

Wait for Hazard news. Haz > Silva. If not, can you do Courtinho > Silva? Team looks good even without Haz.

Possibly, depends on your teams to start with - if they are very similar then yes but you'll need to gamble on captain choice

Teams are similar, I have a feeling he'll being in Benteke (to cover).

Arsenal resting players could be the decider.

    Best option?

    A) Giroud Benteke Young Terry

    B) Kane Lukaku Puncheon Ivan (punch as rival has bolasie)

So Wenger will rest one or two players..

I have Kane first on bench and Hazard, Cazorla, Sanchez, Ramsey in my team.. will I be fine with just transfering out Hazard?

      Most are in same boat,
He wants to win he still had to field 11.
