As always, we delve into the Gameweek 5 data in our first members article of the week. Arsenal’s midfield and Leicester’s form pair arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over Everton and West Ham’s playmakers after both guided their respective sides to victory.
Just think it's a big 2 weeks for liverpool coming up. there will be some goals surely. Tekkers will get at least one. Maybe just the one but he'll get that.
My choices: Payet who I got rid 3 weeks ago and Coutinho. Coutinho 2 good fixtures.
I can drop Chadli or Pedro.love Payet. brought him right before monday nighter.
feels Couts is the next Payet. This
I just did Sanchez Coutinho 😀
yep. for Sanchez.
But people will say that's crazy.
I like it personally.
Fixtures and form not there for Sanchez despite almost moments and stats. Is Coutinho+Benteke too much you think?
Not for 2 weeks at least.
For a team which has scored 3 in 5 yup definitely.
not if it's free no
Kolarov assist yesterday: http://www.gfycat.com/PopularSafeBalloonfish
He's on fireWhat a great feeling it is to own Kolarov and him not get rotated like in years past. This run of games has been low maintenance for one I always want to own him but so volatile.
Probably jinxed it didn'IThe gif is of Kola assisting an OG. 😉 Not that what you have said is wrong.
lol watch the link before you comment mate.
Antonio or Moses? Who do you guys think will get the most starts ?
What a headachemoses by a long way
Probably Moses. Why not wait a week and get Payet?
Moses really impressed he was a beast out there.
Payet should buy him dinner.he'll do this week in week out-excellent on loan just cant deliver @chelski
Must have missed that, maybe because i only had eyes for Payet.
Rest of season
A) Ayew
or
B) PayetB. He's the real deal.
Both but Payet over Ayew.
I was leaning Payet thanks. Gonna get him in next GW.
neither, Payet for now
No faith in either?
I have faith in Payet now, but season keeper is a step to far for me.
*too far
Ah gotcha
I have Ayew.
I want Payet back!
Trouble is I get him and bench him for the price rise?
On holiday so I missed the games, how did the PL teams look? How was Depay?
marvellous goal-and i'm a citeh fan!
Well he scored, but nothing to write home about
Depay in the Champions League: 😀
Depay in the Premier League: 🙁
Depay and Chips: :/
morning!
Butland Schmeichel
Kos Kolarov Williams Francis Prodl
Sanchez Yaya Chadli Mahrez Wanyama
Aguero Gomis Wilson
1FT 3.0 itb
A Wanyama to Hoolahan/Sako
B save FTOwning Chadlii and Wanyama seems like a massive waste of two midfield slots.
So I would go A, 100%, perhaps to Hoolahan.
Cheers, I'm giving Chadli this week then going Payet or Ayew
A-either
chadli out for the other one? After this GW yes... Payet or Ayew
If you're not gonna play him this week might as well save imo.
That's what I'm thinking, whether it's worth it or not. Cheers
get back in that house pards
top handbagsNever mess with the Emperor ... surprised he didn't zap him with blue lightening from the fingertips!!
Surprised Pellegrini did that, he keeps his cool for the most part
After nearly -50k net transfer last week, Silva surely gonna be a huge differential this week.
Would of thought hed still have high ownership
Half Yaya's ownership.
Which changes to my team?
A) Courtois to CArchive
B) Ward to ?
Other changes?
0.3 in the bank
Courtois, McCarty
Darmian, Sagna, Gomez, Martin, Ward
Sanchez, Silva, Pedro, Mahrez, Westwood

Worth considering any Stoke midfielder for the next 4 games?
I have Shaqiri, he's nailed on, and is the best Stoke mid to go with imo
Cheers
How have he been doing on the pitch? Haven't seen any matches
get a CP Mid
Cheers
Naah, I think I will stay put. Fell there's to many to share the points no?
Kompany injury or will he be back for the weekend?
Friday
Shaw's injury save me one transfer, was contemplating of doing Darmian > Shaw for 3 weeks now.
Now need to decide whether to go with Kompany or Sagna.i was thinking this for the last few weeks also.
going to stick with Darmian for now though...Probably a wise decision.
Kompany might be out for a while if he has a calf injury
Don't think it was any serious of an injury.
I need to get rid of Chadli and have 9.5 to splash...
Who do you think is the best choice?
Coutinho / Mata / Depay / Payet / Barkley / PedroBarkley.
Long term Payet or Barkley.
Agreed, but I dont like his fixtures in the next 5 games so I am thinking about Coutinho and then switching to Barkley.
Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool in the next 5 is a bit harsh or what do you think?
Who would you bench in this front 8 for this gw?
yaya ozil mahrez montero payet
kun costa ighaloPayet
Actually I agree ... which might feel like madness after a brace!
Depends on whether Kompany is out or not.
Montero
Best Shaw replacement? for 5.8m
My other 4 defenders are: Kolarov, Gomez, Francis, ProdlDawson
Dawson
Dawson or Darmian
Worth bringing Evans in, or is he to high of a risk for injury?
The extra 0.2 you spend on Dawson buys you an injury-free option who is tried and tested.
this
just bring Dawson
I went with Evans. Its not like Dawson is injury-proof
Dawson
Cheers!
What changes should I make, I have 2 FT's and 1.1 ITB:
Schmeichel / Butland
Azpilicueta / Kompany / Cedric / Dier / Francis
Sterling / Ramsey / Chadli / Mahrez / Ki Sung-yung
Aguero / Benteke / WilsonDier to Dawson imo. Spurs fixtures not that good compared to West Broms
Wait for news on Kompany and i'd sell Ramsey.
Anyone else stubbornly keeping the armband on Aguero until he does something?
Tekkers this week for me.
probably. him or benteke for me
I don't think it's stubbornness. He's a top option this week.
moved to Kolarov this week
2 to play this week? i'm lost here...
Darm, Gomez, Micah, TargettGomez, Darmian.
Villa suck and Targett may get replaced more so than Gomez.thanks berb.
with 2 freebies, is it worth shipping micah for dawson and playing him over gomez/darm?Whats the rest of ur team look like? Maybe its worth saving.
Play 3 of the following:
Ayew
Gomis
Sanchez
HazardGo all out attack?
USed it
Ayew Gomis and Sanchez
Drop hazard at home?
I think he just looks like a shadow of his former self at the moment. Maybe see if he does anything in CL first but personally I'd trust the others over him.
if i had to, i'd drop gomis
I think i will do this.
haz sanchez and take a pick out of one of the swans i say
Was thinking the same. Now am shyting me self about which one will score. Was hoping aguero was out for the weekend.
why would you hope that!
Didnt have the pain of benching a potential scorer.
Can you not play Ayew - Gomis and Sanchez?
No. I have a five man midfield due to my team value and now ive got benching headache.
Mahrez Hazard, Ayew, Sanchez, Yaya
Aguero, Gomis, WilsonI'd bench Hazard out of that lot.
Attention clever people...I'm completing a form which asks to explain the difference between two statements to a low level learner of English (keep it simple). So for example, there's a difference between saying 'I work in London' and 'I am working in London' (the first is permanent, the second is temporary).
Anyone have any ideas on this one?
She quit her job.
She resigned from her job.quit means walk out...
resign means worked notice?Yeah, that's kind of how I see it. But it's a tough one as the words are very interchangable.
Yes - a better definition than mine. QED.
No I think your right. Resigning doesn't imply working notice.
Interesting, as I would have said that resigning does mean working notice (letter of resignation). But I suppose it does not necessarily.
You could resign with immediate effect though. Although the statement doesn't actually say that.
I'm not clever but I would say that quit is more colloquial, resigned is a little more formal. Same meaning in essence.
She quit her job - she voluntarily quit. The decision was hers.
She resigned from her job - she circumstantially quit. The decision was not hers.Quit implies a reaction whereas resigned is a thought out decision maybe?
Now if the statement was 'she was put on gardening leave' then it could not be more clear. That means...erm...
They mean the same but the latter is.a more informal way of saying it.
If the job is Fantasy Manager both are true and rife.
Otherwise, "resigned" is an amicable exit. "Quit" infers a degree of unhappiness and suddenness.I think Test Eagles has put this very well. Thank you!
I also agree that Test Eagles has articulated most accurately the difference between 'quit' and 'resign'. However, the amount of different answers you've had probably shows that this isn't a particularly suitable example for people learning English at a low level.
However, the other example ('I work in London' vs 'I am working in London') is much more clear cut so you should probably stick to ones like this which aren't ambiguous. Thanks Klostermann, I think you're right. It's not suitable for a low level learner and perhaps that is part of the point of them asking it.
Quit is just more informal. Both statements carry the same meaning. Is quit more an American word that has crept into UK usage?
I hear them say 'quit it', which means stop doing that and we in the UK dont use that phraseI would note that 'quit' is also a functional description, describing both the act of ending the working relationship and the leaving-behind of the workplace. Agree with others that it is also the more informal of the two, and also that quitting implies self-determination. As Sab mentions, yes you hear 'quit' in America to cover any job leaving/cessation of anything.
Resigning from one's job would imply a more formal process, e.g. the handing in a document explaining the reasons for one's departure, and also as Gerrard (and others may have) noted such resignation may not always be desired by the job-leaver. People are encouraged, urged, forced to resign just as they may do of their own volition.
Good luck 🙂I find it quite interesting that a few people have stated that 'resignation' might not be desirable by the job-leaver. To me it is a completely neutral word which does not have any implicit bias. Although some emotion can be attached to it depending on the context i.e. 'I've been offered a new job with a better salary so will need to resign from my current job' vs 'My boss has said that I've been under performing and has even started putting pressure on me to resign'
Is Evans nailed in?
Wanna bring in a WBA defender for Shaw, would want Dawson, but I need 0,2 extra this week.Nailed until his next injury
Go Evans if you need the money. Pretty sure he'll be nailed.
evans is nailed.. just the injury risk for this week.. (i dont know much about the injury)
but apart from that yes id ssay his fairly nailedI think he just had cramp but he's very injury prone! The amount of times he's trolled me over the years
Yaya owned by 34% & Silva 15% :O
im happy with that as a silva owner
And as a Yaya owner it makes me want Silva even more
Sterling 13.2 🙂
He's crap though
158 points lease season
132 season before
for the money he will be worth it
13.2? Blimey, his price has shot up.
Is Martin the best 4.5 defender?
Watford def maybe
id say nyom or prodl atm
Not seen it mentioned here but saw on Facebook that Pedro has an injury. Anyone know if this is genuine? Can't see anything on scout tweets
Minor thigh injury apparently, nothing serious.
Cheers DB
interesting.. if thats true then watch how many ppl get rid since ppl are doing it anyway!
Quite confident it's a minor one. Rest for him ahead of big fight on weekend.
Cheers guys
my defence line is:
Fabianski - McCarthy
Kolarov - Shaw* - Francis - Huth - Richards
who should I bring in for Shaw? Maximum 6.1 to spend on the replacement...Dawson
A. Cresswell
B. Bellerin
C. Dawson/Evans (bank cash & spend it in attacking positions)Dawson or Darmian
Surely Pellegrini sees the fact that Aguero does not like 442 at all. We saw this last season as well.
8 years, 8 months ago
Anyone else think bringing in Coutinho on a free is an excellent differential?
Think he's due for some goals.
