We delve into the Gameweek data now in our first members article of the week. Amongst this evening’s topics for analysis are Liverpool, Stoke and Southampton’s midfielders, Swansea and West Brom’s frontmen, Man United’s full-backs and Palace’s summer signing with a penchant for a pot shot.
Martial/Kun (c) btw
Save. No need-to-have players lacking, and the sub par performers from GW1 could easily turn it around in GW2.
Save duh.
Cap Aguero maybe. Martial a good punt as well. Thanks both
Who's captain sensible this time around? I see a lot of people here going for Zlatan, but I feel way more confident in Kun.
Besides: Who to bench out of this lot?
Friend - Evans - Francis - Amat - Pieters

Any urgent changes needed? What is putting people off Heaton and transferring to Foster for?
Foster got a CS against palace, yes. Myhill+Foster combined got 83+56 last season which is 139(With 11 CS). Heaton alone got 150 with 10 CS in his only season. And now with more save points than that season, he is surely gonna better his stat on paper. Lets see though. Shouldn't rush on a GK transfer.
Myhill+Foster's 139 is from 38 games which is 3.65 per game. Foster already got 10 the first match day. This point may increase. But it should be around the 3.7-3.8 mark. Heaton got 4 anyway. This should be a wait and see. Evans and probably Brunt could be a far better option with his options on the Set piece in the coming weeks, no?Yeah I changed foster to Heston based on the 150 points Heston season. Also because I could get a west brom defender.
I did for this and another reason was to have a 4.0 GK who would actually play when Heaton gets injured. Robinson at 4.0 would give me that option when Heaton gets injured. I could take Jakupovic but I won't play him now and he will lose his spot soon. Heaton won't and having Robinson makes me sure that his injury or red card won't force an FT.
I picked Pickford thinking he'd be first choice over mannone at Sunderland, but he isn't. I had foster jaku for weeks. Never thought of having two keepers at the same club before.
No idea. Heatster is the way forward and week 1 merely confirmed this. Best gk rot out there imnvho.
Heatster will have Benching worries but for TV, its amazing.
What's stopping Foster being this season's Heaton + more clean sheets?
That's a wait and see. I will join the Foster Bandwagon if I see that happening. But what's the rush?
I think Brunt will be very hard to ignore. He's a better prospect than Valencia even.
I have Foster + Jaku, but only because of WBA fixtures until gw7. After that Heaton is in on my WC, either on his own or alongside Foster. Expect Heaton to do better season long
Need help in defense.
Currently playing - Foster, Amat, Shaw and Kone
Bench - Rodwell Stones Friend
Have Redmond and Duelofeu.
Thoughts?
Thanks.I would play Stones ahead of Amat maybe.
Shaw vs Redmond
Foster vs Del
Is that ok?No I get that. To maximize your point potential, you got to bench Shaw and Foster. But Shaw's chances at a Cs edges redmonds chances to score. But Redmond is playing as Striker classified as midfielder. So I can't just bench him.
Who is your other Gk anyway?Jaku
Foster above of Jaku obviously.
Cheers.
Probably Stones ahead of Amat. I think Hull looked like they have goals in them at least.
Shaw vs Redmond
Foster vs Del
Is that ok?
Deulofeu to lallana? Or save? No Liverpool cover
Give Del another week imo.
Save.
Save
Find another way for Liverpool cover.
This is my current line-up:
Foster Jakupovic
Stones Shaw van Aanholt Friend Amat
Hazard Firmino Redmond Fletcher Eriksen
Aguero Vardy Gray
OUT --> IN
A) Gray --> Carroll
B) Gray --> Rondon
C) Saving a free transfer
D) Something else
Please give me an advise -- 10x!Save. And switch to Ibra from Vardy if Vardy flops again.
C. Players need at least two weeks before we can form an opinion. Ideally longer.
Stick with it. C
Morning. Hands up who's pretending to be doing work.
o/not even pretending
+1
🙂
FPL is important work too.
My working day's done and dusted. 😛
I'm off today. Feels wonderful.

I have yet to see an injury free team around here who actually needs to make a transfer. All of the popular preseason picks in the comment section still seems like viable options too me - and no player did so extraordinary well inn GW1 that it warrants a transfer in. Knee jerking is not unusual, but can easily see a few getting burned in GW2, transfering out a player who scores well for someone who blanks.
I'm glad I don't have Vardy, Kane or Tadic in my team right now, but if I did, I wouldn't feel too bad about letting them play in GW2.Happy to keep Vardy, he and others blanked and I still had a decent week.. I (And others) will be in much stronger positions with 2FTs next week I think
Honestly... If there's no enforced change (injury or suspension) then just save it people.
It's been one week. Chill 😆Mane 1st on my bench, back in time for his hattrick v Leicester 😉
Ayew on the other hand..
It's firmino's turn then I think you'll find
He can have it this week, so long as Coutinho does nothing and gets booked 😉
That Brings back horrific memories of last season owning the bugger
All about price rises for me.
In a draft league, would you dump any of these midfielders to pick up Redmond?
Mirallas/Siggy/Tadic/CazorlaMaybe Mirallas.
How Mané weeks is Sadio out for?
Not too Mané.
Should just miss Burnley this weekend and be back for Spurs.
Any chance Bolassie starts this weekend?
Wait the presser.
Pickford not first choice for Sunderland?
Can't decide who to cpt
a) Kun
b) Hazard
c) Firminio
d) Vardy
Who do u suggest?Probably hazard tbh.
not seen that variant of c before, well done 🙂
A unless injuredKun
Kun
looking like redmond should avoid a rise this week? potentially gives me another 2 weeks to assess tadic > redmond since playing Utd this week?
This. Having tadic who I think will break out this year makes Redmond a problem.
Yeah i would like to keep tadic - just a bit envious of the people getting good points for 1.5mil less. would love austin to start next game but not realistic as I thought redmond looked good
Redmond is Puel's darling and it won't change anytime soon. Probably the biggest talking point on this site with Bolasie and Coutinho
guess i could double up ramirez to redmond if the boro attack don't fire this week. would be gutted to pay 6.1 for him though so hopefully no rises
That much is not too serious. They way to look at it is he worth 6.5.
Who would you captain?
A)Hazard
B)Firmino
C)KunI'm punting on B.
Same here not sure but debating on haz vs kun
Current team. Good to go? Sub order right?
Foster
Terry Amat Shaw
Hazard Lamela Martial Redmond Ramirez
Ibra(c) Aguero(vc)
Subs Jaku Diomande Stones FriendOne of the first I have seen to go the 5th mid option.
One overriding niggle with me is the Ibra factor.
I was far from impressed with him in FPL termsHe wasn't involved much at all in the Bournemouth game or the charity shield but scored in both and he has tended to do this throughout his career. I totally get how he doesn't impress but he will score a bag full throughout the season imo
Nice team, would swap Stones with Diomande in subs
Thanks for the input. I actually think City look abysmal defensively at the minute and can't bring myself to put a defender in front of an attacker
Irish Madridista,do u happen to know why Greasemonkey doesn't work with the new FPL site?
No idea, sorry man. Must have been wholesale changes to the site's logic / code 🙁
Is Ibra starting to get essential. If he scores tomorrow night he might well be essential!
"Essential" needs to be taken with a pinch of salt
But he will be hard to ignore, especially if Kane and vardy blankStill don't think he'll score more than 15. Bournemouth's defending was so bad, and got to factor in Europa league, rashford, lingard wanting to play.
He's not essential unless you want to do well 😀
2 goals in 2 games, definitely essential.
He's not essential unless he scores 50 goals again this season.
Problem is you won't know if he does until the end of the season. 😉
Also @IM - If Mane confirmed out for one GW only, will you play a 4th defender this week or chance your arm with Capoue vs. Chelsea? Leaning towards the latter myself.
I'd play another defender.
My options then would be VVD or Friend - I can't see a CS for either, but either could potentially get some kind of attacking returns.
Dunno, Sunderland might not score.
I'm playing Capoue..
My 4th defender is Francis and I expect West Ham to score!Good man - that's reassuring 🙂
I need to choose between VVD, Friend and Capoue. They'll all probably score a maximum of two points, but I'd rather take the chance on Capoue getting something extra.
VVD also may start anyway, trying to decide between him and Love (Sunderland).VvD could be a good shout. Decent attacking threat and United could struggle slightly as Bournemouth are nowhere near as defensively solid as Southampton. Plus United were sliiightly lucky to get 3 the last day.
The fact that it's Mourinho's first game in the league at OT is daunting though. Nothing wrong with playing Capoue 🙂 he could sneak another goal from a Deeney knock down 😉Ah we were lucky to get the first, but we could have had more than three after that - the goal opened it up a bit.
I do like VVD - he seems to get shots away a lot, not just from set pieces either. I'm 50/50 on playing him as I do have Ibra and Valencia also.
If Koeman confirms that Bolasie will start what are you Deulofeu owners doing?
I'm not sureNothing
Starting him?
Yes. I made my bed and I will lie in it. There are no Everton certainties in attack.
Nothing. I'd be more worried if I owned Mirallas.
Advice on Mane please:
A) Bench - Play 4-3-3 with Amat joining Stones, Val, JT at the back.Weak looking midfield.
B) Play - Pray he somehow he starts, risk a cameo, Amat autosub.
C) Transfer out?A imo
B for me, I think.
1st sub is between VVD and Capoue for me. Amat looks a good option for you.Bench
same for me to, can play capoue,or amat, will leave mane in,not selling, prob choose amat first sub{hull H} rather than capoue away to chelsea, or friend {midd A} good luck
If confirmed out I'd probably do C >> Firmino
If he's only confirmed out for one GW, though?
Then he's got Spurs away so would probably get rid
Spurs away isn't a bad fixture for liverpool attackers
Cheers guys - will probably be B.
Foster(Heaton)
Evans friend mee (Francis McNair)
Mahrez Townsend tadic Ramirez martial
Aguero long (gray)

Heavy on the saints against Man U. Keeping tadic think he might be this years star. Want a new striker but happy to wait another week see how ibra does.
May sell marred and get hazard, sterling, routledge
If I go routledge may make a change and have 2 swans with him and Lorente any suggestionsI think Redmond will be the breakout player, though tadic was good too in the first game too.
Nobody worried that at some point Redmond ends up on the bench ?
My watchlist at the beginning was Mussa, Redmond Bolasie Rooney Gray. tadic was the 1st player on my teamsheet. Not impressed at all with Ibra
Do we think Carrol will loose his place to the new forward - Calleri?
Doubt it may be a rotation risk with Europe
The IPhone app has been updated today but I still don't think it shows the price paid and selling price?
Good to go?
A) save FT
B) Townsend > Lamela
Jakupovic
Shaw, Terry, Stones
Firmino, Mahrez, Ramirez, Townsend
Ibra, Ageuro(C), Gray
Cech, Capoue, Souare, Fry
Merci!Looks good.. not liking Cech on your bench tho.
Do not trust Arsenal to keep a clean sheet and Swans vs Hull has more of a possibility of being a cleanie imo
Agree but doesn't look right
Wenger on Özil, Giroud and Koscielny: “Maybe I will take a gamble on bringing them back early but I have 48 hours to decide."
Is captaining redmond mad? I don't know where 8 pm Friday kick offs fall under the possibility of a good game or not. I've learnt to avoid early saturday kick offs. Dunno how Mourinho at old trafford will be too, in the last few years loads of players from mid teams have done well.
No way is it worth the risk. Away at OT doesn't become much harder than that.
Not mad as he's in good form, but captaining any player away to United is always risky.
Big balls my friend.. slightly mad I'd say, surely better options about with home fixtures
I'd call that mad tbh.
Would be a bit too much of a gamble for captaincy imo. If you don't do it and he does score, then please don't come on here and go on about how you should've captained him. Those posts are the worst!
