Dugout Discussion – Arsenal vs Hull City

The Gameweek begins at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal host Hull City with thousands of Fantasy Premier League armbands placed on Alexis Sanchez.

Owned by 35.3% of FPL managers and topping our Gameweek Captain Poll, the Chilean is handed the central striker role once again for the Gunners, having produced either a goal or an assist in ten of his last twelve Gameweeks.

However, Sanchez has provided just one double-digit return since his staggering 23-point haul at West Ham and he last scored big at the Emirates back in Gameweek 13 against Bournemouth.

His legion of backers will look for that trend to change in today’s outing, against a Hull City rearguard that arrives in North London on the back of successive clean sheets against Manchester United and Liverpool.

The scene is set for a classic attack vs defence encounter, with all eyes on Sanchez throughout.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

After a quick scan through my mini leagues, it's Ibra (c) I should be far more worried about than Sanchez.

One more Sanchez goal and I'd looking for miracles from Siggy

Yep - Comfortably the best player in the game at home to a team in the relegation zone who have been conceding chances.

I dont have Siggy - Ibra is my vice. United dont score enough at home so I opted for Sanchez above him (and there are the extra goal and clean sheet points)

9/10 hand balls aren't deliberate. But if your arms are away from the sides of your body (unnatural position) then it's a handball.

His arm was above his head. I can understand the goal standing as it happened very quick and they didn't see it.

But it is definitely a hand ball nonetheless.

If the refs saw it they would have awarded the foul

Not at all, just needs the hand to be in an unnatural possition.

Yes. It's not in the 17 rules or whatever it's called but it's added on a later page. However fifa don't state what 'delibarate' means so refs interpretation on it is just 'when the hand is in a unnatural position'. They usually says the player is responsible for his arms at all times.

we have to see who, if anyone, sits when Dawson is healthy. there are 3 centerbacks for 2 spots, unless they move to a back 3.

i'd say right now only Robertson is 100% nailed for the future.

Personally I sold because I was trying to populate a squad for GW 26 and I was Arse heavy. Purely transitory based on fixtures. He'll be back in the squad shortly. Wasn't selling him short, just had tactical and better options available season-wise.

Wenger has the backing of the current board because he consistently keeps them in the top 4 and therefore in Europe and in the black. The fans however want more as they're spending their hard earned money on a team that in their eyes is 'less than second-best'

        - Arsenal fans deserve better than to be the subject of a money making exercise. Sanchez deserves to be playing in a team where 'everyone' wants to win a title.

I think it has to do with the defence. But he has done something incredible already. Got wilshere to play 17 games in a row.

No doubt a future great manager, but needs a couple of seasons under his belt in the top flight. Same reason and doubt he was put in for England manager but didn't make the grade. Needs to earn his stars first.

It took a committee to hire Sam Allardyce who they all knew was a used card salesman. Was that the best hey could scrape? Christ when I think of it ...

Obviously the passion took over the spelling and grammar on that post ..and that's fine - not like I'd fck up my dream job or day job for that matter. He's a knob and CPY deserve to be knobs for taking him on board. How do you fit one a-hole into another?

Of all the managers out there - you would pick Howe to pick up the mantle at Arsenal?

Have to hand it to him

    It was a glovely goal

Hands up who had Sanchez first goalscorer

Punching above his weight on current form

Who had a hand in the goal

Hull's defense was caught red handed

    Handy finish that by Sanchez

All hands on deck for Arsenal

I'd glove it if he scored another

Who had Sanchez (c)? Hands up

Arsenal winning by an arms length

    Many hands make Alexi work

    ------

Right, now we've got those out of the way...

If you sell him before a home game to Hull, why would you bring him in in the first place???

Not advisable, no. But you gotta admit they've been hard done by with a goal of that nature. Without it, they would look brilliant right now.

All I've been doing this half is wondering who's easier to do without for a few weeks, Ibra or Sanchez..

Too much value tied up on Alexis for me - I'm only selling if he looks like dropping 0.6m over two weeks.

Sanchez to Haz and hold Ibra to captain in 27 is my plan atm... It is only half 1 though!

      Same situation.
The price falls will push things.
As it is now, I have +0.4 profit from Sanchez and +0.2 from Ibra.
Do you think Sanchez can fall -0.3 till next gw?

Possibly considering he's being sold already (before Hull of all things) so imagine with a blank.

There are more premium replacements for Ibra than for Sanchez with 2 fixtures, but only Lukaku and Siggy are strong options with a guaranteed 3 fixtures.

True. Was just glancing at who I'd bring in for him. Only Siggy stands out.

At this point, given it's HT, Sanchez with a goal, low baps, think every one is content. This next half decides everything.
