The ScoutCast – Episode 228 – Countdown

The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sanchez is out. Also Ozil is a doubt. Iwobi is better than Welbz and Theo. Hopefully he plays and proves they don't need Lemar.

          I've got

          De Gea
          Kompany Bailly Bertrand Cedric (Francis)

Would love Bailly>Kolasinac, but he's got rough fixtures and Arsenal don't have a team...Cedric is bothering me too

              You ARE Pascal!

Rough relative to MUN maybe, but not rough rough. Kolasinac won't be relying on CSs.

MUN almost never conceded more than one goal in a match, and kept a good deal of CS. And now they have Matic too. I'm more set on that than I am with SOU double up, they've shipped three's and two's a lot

Front 8 is identical to mine. But my def:

      Foster Elliot

      Danilo Daniels Bertrand Suttner Long

Don't be put off by PvA though- think he is a good attacking pick as playing further forward

Team is almost all set, I only have one dilemma left:
I have 12m to spend for the 3rd forward and the 4th mid.
    The options under consideration are:
    A) Willian + Mitrovic
    B) Gabbiadini + 5.0 mid

Currently I'm on A, but looking at SOU's fixtures and Gabbi feeling he's their nailed forward, I think he can do well.
Reasons against this are Gabbi's potential rotation with Austin (or if he just doesn't play well enough), while it leaves me with even less money in the midfield, missing out on Willian's nice opening fixture, while his price allows me to downgrade to let's say Ritchie from GW2 for NEW's nice fixtures.
At the same time, I don't see any 5.0 mid worth getting.

    What do you think?

      B I guess

      Or Abraham + Imobi/Walters/Fraser + 1.0
      Or Abraham + Tadic/Redmond

Why is no one going Defoe? Lone striker in a much more attacking team than last season.

Zaha and Willian ---> Salah and Atsu

Just my opinion, you may have Fab Iwobi Crouch all not playing at once without notice. What then?

Add TAA to that too. Change it I'm afraid.

Dunno about Zaha. Don't think I have had any confidence in a palace player ever. Except puncheon for five games..who I didn't own. But you're all generally right aren't you? Even when Townsend went there even though I like him...not enough. Or benteke...not enough. Or cabaye...not enough.

Maybe for a few weeks, but his place doesn't seem secure with Murphy and Aarons hanging around.

Why Willian over Fabregas when Cesc's points per minute are far better?

because of rotation and Willian excellent pre season, I like Fab though and think he'll be playing plenty however in the end went Willian.
