Reckon any of these players are worth a hit this week? Can currently only field 8.

    De Gea
    Ruddy
    Begovic
    Bassong

        Better of the two?

Would be Szczesny -> Ruddy, or Demel -> Bassong. WCing in GW31.

        Szczesny, Davis
Terry, Ivan, Demel, B Davies, Whittaker

Only to get rid of non-players and rotation risks. Not worth a DGW player.

Probably from Allardyce's quotes when he talked about not changing a winning team. I recall him mentioning Collins.

On closer investigation, Allardyce seems happy with his CB pairing. Found some quotes from 13th Feb talking about Reid needing to fight for his place but not wanting to change a winning side.

Ok. This is in line with my own expectations. I.e. whoever eff's up from Tomkins and Collins will lose his spot to last seasons's Hammer of the Year Reid.

    Bottom page repost

I know its too early but looking for a few opinion. This is the team i can field for next week without any transfers -

    Boruc
    Dann, Ivan, Azpi, Kos*
    Ince, Mata, Lallana, Hazard, Puncheon
    Adebayor

    Subs: Mannone, Vlaar, SaS
    2FTs and 5.4 ITB

Since I have 2FTs I have to use one.
I think i'll keep SaS. Only Vlaar and Kos are the only options to sell. But there is no defender that tempts me.

TM i'd want Coleman/City def in for Kos long term but that's no use for the coming week. Is a norwich defender worth getting in for a week or two?

Comment on these options to replace Kosc and (hope to) have 11 to play on Gw29 please.

A: Evra -> Should be nailed to start. His attacking threat and DGW on Gw31 are interesting. Anyway, it’s not an easy fixture to play wba, LIV, whm + MCI on Gw29-31.

B: Smalling -> He’ll have DGW too. Cheaper, but rotation risk?

C: Terry / Cahill -> Jose’s defensive & BP magnet. But not good fixtures to play TOT and ARS on Gw29 & 31.

D: Shaw or Chambers -> Cheap. No DGW, but good fixtures to play cpl and NOR on Gw 29-30, but play tot on Gw31.

E: Shawcross -> No DGW, but good fixtures to play nor, WHM, avl, HUL from Gw 29-32.

F: Olsson / Bassong -> No DGW, but good fixtures to play STO, sot, SUN, saw, WBA, ful from Gw 29-34

      Afternoon all

I've never watched GOT, is it any good? For some reason I have the impression it's like dungeons and dragons with gratuitous sex scenes - would that be accurate?

I spent most of last evening watching True Detective ( instead of the football! ) and that was utterly brilliant. Best TV I've seen for ages - many thanks to whoever it was on here that recommended it.

Ah, so my non-spoiler attempt failed. Sorry about that, I should have been vaguer. It's a bit like trying to talk about member stats on here without actually naming the player concerned. Children Of Men was an incredibly good movie - I was very surprised that it wasn't more popular at the time.

Watching True Detective myself. So good. I tip my hat the same direction as you Billy, it was someone on here who tipped me off as well.

That being said, even if you despise fantasy, you will love GOT. Particularly if you despise Fantasy I say.

D&D with gratuitous sex scenes (minus the dragons) sounds more like the BBC series Rome, if you ask me. Rome was good, but didn't quite reach top tier imo.

GoT is more a look into the nature of man and power.

It was probably discussed last night nut am I missing something on the whole Pardew headbutt incident. Is the uproar because
    1) It was a headbutt. This happens all the time and such a big deal isn't made e.g. Fellaini on Shawcross
    2) He is a manager and not a player. I don't understand why a manager doing it is worse than a player. Both are mature adults, unless footballers mature much later, and in fact kids look up to players more than managers. Both are supposed to be in control at all times. This heat of the moment on the pitch doesn't justify anything. If anyone is under pressure then it should be the manager as he is usually the one who loses his job if the players play rubbish.
    3) The media just need a story to sell and by next week this will be all forgotten.

In point 2 I'm not defending Pardew or managers, rather trying to show that players and managers are both mature adults who should be held accountable for their actions equally

Good point about the President/congressman. I suppose David Cameron punching someone is worse than a backbencher. But football managers are hardly in positions of authority/ governance. These are the people expected to use every swear word under the sun in their team talks to fire up the players.

Guess there will be about 70 left with 8 rounds to go. The last few rounds need less than 10 to go out so perhaps 15,15,10,10,8,6,3,2(final). It's hard working out the last bit as equal bottom scores also get knocked out.

Starting to get interesting & harder to survive.
Most of the bottom teams this week need Adebayor to save them or else they will be the ones going out. Next week those struggling for numbers are the likely victims.

The thing is I won't be able to afford a United striker. I have only 1 million in the bank and have pretty much decided that Caz to Mata will be one of my transfers.
That leaves me with 8.3 million to get a striker if I lose Bony (can't think of anyone)
        OR
6.5 million to get a defender(if I lose Kosc), Evra being the obvious choice.

Agree. Most got Ade this week for today & 2 points next week was a bonus.

      I. Feel. Like. Giving. Up. FPL.

Since GW18, my rank has been stagnant, unchanged in between 30k to 60k - ups and downs all over the place. I'm amongst the highest points in my H2H mini league but the managers with about 100 points below me gets the luck and rank above me. And then there's the Suarez-Sturridge captaincy problem. I gave Suarez, Sturridge prospered. I handed it to others, Suarez thrived.

My only hope now is you - Adebayor. The great role models in FPL I look up to have been doing immensely well in the past ten weeks when they were initially ranked 100k and then managed to climb to top 1k. Me? My rank has been stuck in limbo ever since. I need a miracle from Adebayor, Ince and Snodgrass because I will lose my H2H AGAIN otherwise - and then suffer another drop in rank.

      Adebayor, my love...

I hope at least a brace from Adebayor and just a goal from Snodgrass.

I fear for Spurs that another similar tumble like the one they lost at Norwich could happen, again.
