      Hello! 😀

No, I'm ditching. I was benching him for Saints anyway, but I'll sell instead.

Wasi & Coutinho -> Wolly & Siggy, assuming no injuries.

y, the problem is for me, if hes nailied on or not? want to look at the situation a little more. Gylffi back too soon, and downing when hes fixtures gets better, so think holding is ok. Think I'll end up with both Downing and Mane, to fund sturridge/costa in my front three

I know this is not a popular view, but you only need to look at Jordan Ibe to see how overrated Raheem Sterling is.

I disagree, I don't think Sterling is nearly as good as everyone makes out

        to paraphrase George Best:

can't shoot, can't finish, no left foot, can't hold the ball up, can't head....but apart from that he's ok

You've seen Jordan Ibe play two matches and you agree he's better than Sterling?

Also he's not a striker. He's a winger who was forced to play OOP. Describe him as a winger then you understand why Madrid are linked to him

I dont get this random hatred some people have for Sterling. Sure, hes not the most prolific and he does lack end product. I for one have been a critic of that aspect of his game. But hes recently turned 20, has been integral of a top side for the past 2,5 years. Hes blistering fast, hes got skills, and while he does have ways to go with his finishing, hes still getting into scoring positions and putting away some of them. Hes by no means the finished product and while Ibe does look to have a good chance of developing to Sterlings level (or possibly even above that), i think youd be well adviced to remember that Ibe has played four BPL games. Sterling has 83 games and 16 goals. At the age of 20. You think on that.

Harry Kane has 16 goals in about 20 Premier League games, and is pretty much the same age. Sterling having already played 83 games says more about Liverpool than it does about him.

        1. TeamSteam
          • 11 Years
          9 years, 3 months ago

Harry Kane has 16 goals in 35 BPL appearances. First off, if youre going to slander, i would recommend getting the facts right. Secondly, one is a striker and the other is a winger. Comparable? I think not. And the discussion was between Ibe/Sterling. Kane has nothing to do with it.

            • 12 Years
            9 years, 3 months ago

16 in 35 is still a bit better than 16 in 83 isn't it? Considering Sterling has played up front all season.

It has something to do with it when you defend how good Sterling is by saying he's young. So many players were already good by 20, how long do you give someone 'potential' for?

            1. TeamSteam
              • 11 Years
              9 years, 3 months ago

Hes played up front for 8 games, if thats "all season" for you, then by all means. Ofcourse age has to be taken into consideration when talking about how good a player is. Youre just here to slander Sterling and youre coming off as a deuche to me, so im just gonna take a pass.

                9 years, 3 months ago

Exactly, age does need to be taken into consideration. That's why I used Kane as an example. I could've used plenty of examples of players having scored more than 16 goals by the time they're 20. Liverpool have a lot of them.

Once he does anything more than run fast, i'll give him some credit. You calm down in the meantime, you'll hurt yourself.

You say that, but you got Kane`s stats wrong by quite some margin, so forgive me for not immediately trusting you. And i wouldnt say "a lot of them". Few top clubs have had bigger talents come out of their own ranks in the last 10 years or so, and im going to repeat myself, hes only just turned 20 years old. You wanna rant about Sterling and convince yourself that hes horrible, you go right ahead - such is your right. But im not wasting any more energy on you.

Why are you reminding me that I got the difference between 20 and 35 wrong? Neither number are anywhere near 83, which was the point.

I don't want to rant about Sterling, I was showing you why 16 goals in 83 wasn't impressive.

I have always believed Sterling to be overrated. His only real 'talent' is that he can run fast, but this isn't the Olympic 100 metres. People will say he's young, but younger players than him have been better than him by now. He can't shoot, he has no ability to bring people into the game, he doesn't know when to pass etc.

Suarez made him look good, but then Suarez could make most of us look good.

Last season: Captained Hazard on away game and he scored a hattrick

Last 2 seasons: Captained Fellaini and he scored a brace

Long time ago: Had 3 Reading players and they trashed opponent 8-0 or something... Doyle and Hunt were one of them.

Centre back in Toby's absence, and now covering left back with Bert suspended and Targett injured.

He isn't part of the first 11 when everyone is fit and available. (which is soon)

Gardos is behind Yoshida in the pecking order it seems.

Clyne Fonte Toby Bert- is the first choice back 4.

Last game they had to play- Clyne Fonte Gardos Yoshida- after Targett went off injured.

If you're looking for cheap Saints, Toby is the way to go when he is fit.

In hindsight, Silva to Sanchez (C) for a hit was a mistake (particularly as I would have captained Walcott), but it made sense at the time, and sets my team up nicely (barring injury). Can't be too disheartened with 25 (-4) with 6 to play.

    Foster

    Sanchez/Walcott/ADM/Hazard
    Aguero/Defoe/Kane

It will be hard to steady my knee for 10 days, but having a spare transfer for the blank/DGW will be key.

I'd get Rose or Vertonghen I think. What would you do with a FT this GW? I can only really see Di Maria out, or maybe Wisdom (may as well hold Bertrand now). I'm very wary of being roped into having 3 Arsenal mids, Sterling is a bit up in the air at the moment, so I think I should probably just keep ADM til the DGW.

I'd be wary of Davies playing one of the games tbh, and Vertongen is at a price where accommodating him can be difficult.

I'm ditching my deadwood (Coutinho for me, maybe ADM for you), and sorting my bench for the blanks.

My 4th and 5th defender are currently Hutton and Wisdom. Can't sleep tight with them in my team 😀 And because I will go with Ivanović over Terry I can't keep both, I have to downgrade anyway .. Haidara - Yun good combination? Or should I go with one of them and just downgrade the other to 3.8/3.9 defender? 🙂

You'll probably need your bench to cover for the GW27 blanks.

Haidara is a good option, IF he retains his place with Dummet back fit. Yun isn't a good choice because he has a blank in GW27 when you would need him.

Özil is not sustainable as an FPL option, he`ll decline soon enough. Much like last season. I am however curious to see how they`ll line up with everyone g2g. Ramsey getting injured last night might have "helped", from an fpl perspective, i`m inclined to think that Santi will pair up with Coquelin with Özil/Sanchez/Theo in a trio behind Giroud most games, but who can really tell.

Ramsey injured makes Cazorla more nailed on, but a worse option IMO, (although still a good option I must add.), because it leaves him a lot deeper.

I think Ozil will continue to get returns with lots of runners in the team.

I honestly havent seen the appeal in Santi thus far, and the Ramsey injury makes me agree with you that he`ll sit deeper now. However i dont think it ruins his FPL-appeal that much, he takes the odd long range effort, the odd setpiece and penalties, which was where most of his points came from anyway.

You may be right, i just dont rate Özil at that level. I actually find him quite overrated. That said, he certainly is the flavour of the month.

You should have seen him in the first half.. some of the passes he made were ridiculous.

He hasn't had the chance to play in an Arsenal team with lots of runners, and so far the signs have looked very positive. Keep an eye on it, he'll be template soon enough! 😉

I did see the game and i am well aware of his passing abilities, which i agree can be quite spectacular. I just dont think he has the skillset to dominate against decent teams in the BPL. I mean he quite fell off in the second half when Leicester pressed higher. For the record i do think Özil is good, very good in fact, but i still think hes overrated.

I just dont think a player that requires so many special type of players around him to function to his best ability should be labelled "great" or "world class". That said, hes still a good player and he could very well be very good for Arsenal given the surroundings, and thats really what matters in the end. Hes a clever player with great vision and passing abilities, so youre right, if Walcott/Alexis primarily stay injury free/in the team, he could be great.

        this.

Ozil will never play the hole. he never did before his injury. he was pushed to the wing.

Cazorla is having to play the Ramsey role now, which means he does seem a lot deeper.

He did still create 3 chances from open play, have 2 shots, and was the Arsenal player who completed the most passes in the attacking 3rd.

Yes, differential, but let's be honest you probably wouldn't captain him anyway with Hazard (BUR), Aguero (NEW), Kane (WHM) and even Sanchez (cry). So yes it is mental imo.

If you can play 11 during the blank, do it. Most of us cant

Bit early to be talking about next GW transfers but Sanchez + Giroud > Ozil + Sturridge is looking very tempting if a bit knee-jerk.

Cheers, sure were a lot of numbers! Can't say I understand but I think it means he is good at passing.

Hi everyone - is £5.2/5.3m too much to spend on a 5th midfielder?

Specifically thinking ahead of the gameweek where Hazard and Kane are benched and worrying that I will be lacking firepower.

    Thanks!

All depends whether it would compromise the rest of your team.

Hmm. I'm not sure I know the answer to that!

Other than Ozil and Hazard, none of the midfielders above 8m are tempting 🙄

Fabregas when fit, what about Yaya?

Without penalties, not sure. 10.8m is too expensive

It seems like 'Sanchez or Ozil" is the question to which nobody has a definite answer.

Sanchez all day long but if you dont have 11.3 to spare then Ozil a good pick

Can confirm. Without having checked im pretty sure im like 1 for the last 7-8 weeks, toss in the Giroud sending off against QPR and it makes pretty horrid reading.

Sanchez has a GW off then comes back as striker against LEI and blanks.

Since gw9, your captain choice has amassed a dizzy total of 7 goals.

fa cup 5th round replays can affect gameweek 27. am i right?

Don't think so as GW27 is on a weekend so I wouldn't expect any Cup replays to be scheduled here - although I'm not sure what will happen if anyone with a Euro game on 24/25 or 26 Feb needs to go to a replay.

I think the replays are one cell too far to the right - They'll normally be 10 or so days after the initial tie which would put them in the same week as the Euro matches.
