The Community Round Up

Eden Hazard’s holiday snaps and growing confidence in Arsenal’s attacking midfield assets conspired to set the community’s hearts racing as they considered some intriguing transfer moves with the Gunners’ double Gameweek 37  in mind. We also look ahead to the lottery that is Gameweek 38 and further ahead to next season and the key rule changes the community would like to see in the Fantasy Premier League. We also catch up on the latest tables from the statisticians in our Members area and the ups and downs in the community’s leagues.

The Community Articles

Our latest Rough with the Smooth round up of the community’s best and worst transfer decisions last Gameweek showed that West Brom’s defence is not to be underestimated and selecting the correct Arsenal attacker is getting harder each Gameweek.

Another who has found predicting player potential difficult in recent weeks is The Puntmaster. He’ll be hoping for a return to form with this trio of differentials for Gameweek 36.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Even before pictures circulated on the internet of Eden Hazard relaxing by the beach this week, SAB was among those wondering whether the Chelsea midfielder could be ditched in favour of one of Arsenal’s Gameweek 37 double Gameweek assets. With rotation looming large for the Premier League champions’ players does he have a point? Hazard was also among those mentioned in our discussion on the run in’s prime rotation candidates.

While confidence in Hazard’s points potential ebbs away, optimism that Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez is set to do well is growing, particularly after his brace against Hull in Gameweek 35. It was unsurprising to see him mentioned frequently in our hot topic on the best Arsenal trio to have for the Gunners’ double Gameweek.

Arsenal’s evolving midfield also came under RuthNZ’s microscope as he examined how reacting to changes in the form and tactics, such as Ramsey and Sanchez’s growing influence in the Gunners attacking play, is vital to success.

While Arsenal players are gaining plaudits, are we ignoring some of the game’s more unfashionable players who still have the potential to score well? D1sable certainly thinks so as he prepares to welcome Stoke’s barrel chested midfielder Charlie Adam into his FPL side.

Looking beyond double Gameweek 37, we asked for your tips for success in Gameweek 38, which is notoriously the toughest week for Fantasy managers, as fringe players get a chance to play and clean sheets are harder to pick.

Gameweek 38 strategy was also considered by Ruth NZ in his discussion on whether Christain Benteke is worth drafting in as the threat of rotation looms large in the final Gameweek ahead of the FA Cup final,  should Aston Villa have already secured Premier League status.

Looking further ahead, to next season, Dat Guy asked the community for their ideas on a new FPL rule that could be realistically added to the game. His idea was for managers to nominate a team before the season gets underway that they can pick four players from. Allan The Llama, meanwhile, proposed a one off ‘joker’ rule that allows double points for an entire XI.

The Members Tables

To help assess Arsenal’s options ahead of Gameweek 37 Ludo has come up with this handy table comparing the Gunners attacking options.

Goal involvement is among the key factors considered by Spatburgunder in his look at the best forwards for the run in.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Leagues

Greenwindmill’s continues to top the FFScout moderators and contributors league with a 43-point lead over second-placed Mark.

In TorresMagic’s last Man Standing competition, the safety score in Gameweek 35 was 57, leaving just 11 players in with a chance of glory.

Meanwhile in Red Lightning’s FFS January Wildcard League Brian Thomson is the new leader, having scored 1003 points in the last 15 Gameweeks, including three triple digit scores. Red Lightning says: “For comparison, FPL leader Simon March (aka Dufflinks) scored 1002 in the same period with no century game-weeks.” Aaron Thorburn continues to lead the Top 10k Any Season mini-league.

Finally, The FFS UEFA Cricket World Cup competition has reached the quarter final stage. A round up of the previous round’s events, plus a look ahead to the weekend’s games can be found here.

    Trailing rival by 20 points.

Albrighotn has been on form lately but surely Kane has higher potential of getting a bigger haul to close the gap right ?

    Who'd you play ?

    A) Kane

    B) Albrighton

I own him and don't think he'll play particularly since Wilshere looked so sharp when he replaced him last week.

My predicament is who to play between Hendo, Skrtel and Cambiasso, will need 2 of them if Ramsey gets no pitch time 😐

I think some have. I wouldn't bring in Sunderland GK or DEF because they playing Leicester at home and Arsenal away. In both games they will concede goals. So over two games assuming your Sunderland defender doesn't score or assist you've made 4pts in total!!

I think the benefit is in getting a sunderland MID or FWD for the DGW. Much more value in that.

But not for a hit. Remember you are stuck with these guys after the dgw. And I'm still working on getting rid of my dead meat Pool players.

I have 3 pool from the DGW, one's going this GW, the other two i'm itching to get rid of but reluctant to take pts hit. Poo play palace next week and I'm hoping Hendo strikes lucky in that game as palace invariably concede!

I'm going with Defoe, proven goal Scorer who knows where the net is better than Wickham. In DGW you have to play the odds by bringing in forwards.

No hits ... but should have 3 SUN players anyway. WCarded in GW34 to have 10dgwers + pants, pva giroud and kun (only non dgwer for 34 & 37).

Brought in rambo last week and ozil this week. Next week will do n'doye to either wickham/defoe so as to have 3 ARS and 3 SUN for the dgw.

I'm 20 points behind in my ML, main rival doesn't have Sanchez and will captain Kun.

Sanchez captain? - got a feeling Kun could bag a couple this week and I will no doubt be gutted but it's also annoying when you make up no ground on rivals with same captain choice.

        This.

I brought him in last week n enjoyed his points.

For this week if he doesnt play will have cambiasso coming in which should be ok.

By all accounts he should be fit for dgw37 *fingers crossed*

Am I good to go or Sterling out deserves a hit. Too bad Ramsey isn't fit, would haven't hesitate it for a second.

    The team
    Myhill (Mignolet)
    Ivan Baines Morgan
    Haz Alexis (VC) Silva Sterling
    Vardy Kane Kun (c)
    bench = sh*t = PVA Sinclair Baird
    ITB 0,6m

    Thanks
I could bring in Ozil for a hit maybe? Or anything else?

I don't know if I'd take a hit, but I really would be sick of looking at Sterling!

Maybe he will surprise us all!

I did Sterling > Ozil and Fab > Silva for a hit. I don't want to keep Sterling.

Yeah either Sterling to Ozil or hold and get Ramsey/Ozil next week, IMO.

    Best option? GO
    A. Moreno and Sterling > Bellerin and Ozil
    B. Skrtel and Sterling > Kos and Ozil
    C. Skrtel Terry Vardy > PVA Bellerin Giroud (over two weeks)
    D. Skrtel Moreno Sterling > PVA Kos and Caz
    E. Skrtel Moreno Sterling Vardy > PVA Mcshane Caz Giroud (-4)

Too many unnecessary defense trannies, IMO. I'd focus on your attack here tbh, Rest of team? I'd rather double up on three Arsenal attackers.

I have quite a bit invested in back line so need to transfer to raise funds?

Former for me, too good a fixture for Aguero and Co IMO.That QPR "backline" is really stretching it thin (unlike Lampard).
