Don't shoot the messenger but apparently Klopp and his former assistant will take over from Rodgers 3yr yr deal/+1yr if he wins a trophy in first 3yrs.

tony barrett said they dont want klopp, and so have many other reliable journalists.

there is however strong suggestions that rodgers will leave liverpool this week regardless of the result tomorrow.

they do want Klopp 100% 2 times already they've been after him.

Barrett use to be good but now isn't as reliable

Rodgers is leaving they decided before the europa game

personally i think he would be a good fit for liverpool but the rumours you're referring to are coming from Bosnia.

I don't know how true that is to be fair, and I'm not searching blindly for some optimism. He hasn't been approached as of now apparently, they decided early on in the Summer to stick, so at that point replacements hadn't been sounded out. But it still seems unlikely, for whatever reason.

FSG approached Klopp after sacking Dalglish, he declined. They then approached De Boer who also declined. Rodgers was the only other available, based on Ian Ayre's recommendations.

This summer they approached Klopp who again declined, as he opted to take a break. Last week Ian Ayre met with Ancelotti.

Yeah they did speak to him a few years ago but I'm not sure if he was asked in the summer, its clear he'd take a job he liked if it came up, why take us now if he rejected us a few months ago? Especially when there could well be some lucrative jobs available in the summer.

Klopp recently said he is ready to work again. It's a good match. Liverpool played an aggressive pressing game, therefore, Klopp's method will be quickly implemented, if he takes the job, that will be on his mind.

Secondly, Klopp doesn't want control of transfers, at Dortmund he worked under a DOF, who dealt with transfers, therefore the Transfer Committee set up won't be a problem for him.

You appoint winners, whether they are players or managers. Kenny is a winner through and through. He was out of management for over 15 yrs, yet he landed a trophy on his return.

its crazy how rumours can start and get swallowed up so easily.

ancelotti meeting with ayre in NY (just as ancellotti was pictured with NY players lampard and pirlo). What they didnt realise is the team was in bloody vancouver for an away game and ancellotti was there on holiday. LOL

You're right to keep your thinking reserved Copps, and if that is the case with Ancelotti it is a very big lol 😛

This must be the 16th "Klopp definitely happening after [random date]" instance I've come across this season. Not to mention his staff, who won't be with him, or Michael Zorc, the DOF at Dortmund responsible for signing every single one of Klopp's star players.

Rodgers should go, I don't doubt that. But I do sense there is a bit of reaching going on sometimes.

And I don't blame said optimism. If I was a Pool fan looking at how the club was being run at this point in time, I'd really want a sign from FSG that they do intend to bring the club forward with a big name manager coming in.

              8 years, 8 months ago

yeah cant blame fans for being optimistic.

personally i do think there's a chance klopp will be hired, but its just the way people talk like it's a done deal without credible journalists confirming. too many gossip columns get followed like its fact. its why sites like goal.com and bleacher report are so popular, completely nonsense rumours but t plays into the idealistic view of fans.

                Nope, nothing wrong with it.

There's always a chance, much much stranger things have happened in football, and I agree with you that the lack of credibility is a real annoyance. The other thing I would say is with all the hype that gets generated, it possibly creates an anti climax. The way the media go on now, you'd swear Klopp would be the messiah. He's a very good manager, don't get me wrong, but as I mention above a lot of the key components of his tenure at Dortmund won't be there. What if he has a season like his final season at Dortmund? Will people turn on him?

The expectation seems to be on a manager who can immediately revitalise the team (hence Klopp as the prime candidate, because he plays attacking football, like Pool did when they challenged for the title a couple of seasons ago) and perhaps that is a little unfair. Another issue I have is FSG, I am not sure of their intentions yet.

yeah theres definitely no guarantee that he'd be successful. especially in england where there are 4 teams at a distinct advantage financially and squad-wise over liverpool.

honestly i think the liverpool job would be a massive risk for him because its almost just a lose-lose situation. regularly playing heavily against the odds just to break top 4. its a bit like the england national job. too high expectations when there are always much better teams.

his passion though would fit very well with scousers, and they would definitely get behind someone like him. like you say his attacking football too.

Aye, it is a bit of a hairy situation. His passion would definitely see him loved y any group of fans, and that's important at a team like Pool.

Regarding FSG, take a read of this article at some stage

                    http://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/premier-league/2015-2016/liverpool-s-epic-swindle-five-years-on-and-reds-still-no-nearer-to-greatness_sto4933547/story.shtml

It somewhat outlines why I have uneasy feelings about them.

                      cheers, thats a good article.

i dont mind FSG personally but i dont think they're fully trusted by big parts of the fanbase and its fair enough. they saved the club from H&G before them. transfers are still very bad and the big problem. they seem to pump more money than a lot in the past but its al on garbage haha.

i hope you are right as i think klopp would be a great appointment. his energy and passion are badly needed.

klopp has also said recently that he does not need to manage a club thats at the top and would welcome a challenge. liverpool fits that quite well. there are strong similarities between dortmund and liverpool.

    one last time....

Hi guys nice scores on here, moved up from 1.5 mil to just under 300K, planned to play my WC this week but not so sure atm, I'm looking at maybe taking a hit tonight to bring in De Bruyne and decide on WC after tomorrows games (slow transfers atm):

    Butland Ruddy
    Cedric Francis Kolarov Jenkinson Huth
    Payet Hazard Mahrez Ayew Westwood
    Aguero Vardy Martial

A Hazard > De Bruyne (not hit)
B Hazard and Ayew > De Bruyne and Mata (possible 2 rising)
C Ayew and Ruddy (close to dropping) > De Bruyne Hennessey
D WC and get rid of any falls and include any risers
    E Other

    Thanks all

got a similar problem below, would keep ayew with those fixtures coming up. very tempting to wc like me, but just having the wc for 11 would be nice, with everton and manu fixtures. i think your team looks ok- but whats changing my opinion is i maybe priced out...

    Repost...
Heyup all, im trying to figure out how to fit KDB into my team while get rid of Gomez and Coutinho with a tight budget, are there any possible 4.4 or lower options in defence? i was looking at Martin Kelly for cpl but he is probably a short term risk, right? Team is:

    Bego, Mcartthy
    Kola, Francis, Williams, Dawson, Gomez
    Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez, Coutinho, Wanyama
    Kun, Gomis, Vardy

    1FT 1.8 itb

Also would like to get rid of Gomis but am attending to various mini-fires...

    Hi lads,
    need some advice

would you WC this. Wanted to wait until 11 so i could load up on everton and man u players, but team is looking shaky.

    ruddy
    Kolarov, Francis, Cedric
    Ayew, ozil, Mahrez, pedro
    Kun, sakho, berahino

    rudd, coates, huth, shaqiri
    2fts

    A) shaqiri- kdb

    B) pedro and shaqiri- mane/wijnaldum/walcott and kdb

    c) coates/shaqiri/ pedro for mane, kdb, janmatt -4

    D) WC- will change nearly all my players- but think ayew/berahino and sakho could do ok until my wc target of 11

    thanks fellas

I think he's a bit expensive for a Newcastle player. They haven't been playing that well either to justify getting an 6.8m mid

            Other options imo

I need to get rid of Yaya cause he's losing value.
Until tommorow I'm safe. What to do?

    my front 8 is:
    Sanchez - Payet - Ayew - Mahrez - Yaya
    Aguero - Pelle - Vardy

    A. Yaya - Walcott
    B. Yaya - Mane
C Yaya, Ayew - KDB, anybody under 5.6 but -4 hit

In fact Ayew also loses value but may save himself tomorrow.
