Premier Punt Returns for the New Season

Premier Punt was a regular on our pages last season and, after a summer hiatus, we are delighted to announce it is back and ready to fire over the new campaign.

What is it?

To refresh your memory Premier Punt offers Fantasy managers a range of formats, including daily and weekly games to play.

As with last season, its weekly and daily games ask Fantasy managers to find the best 11 players from a £100m budget. This includes finding a captain and vice captain.

There’s a range of new features as well this season, including a single match format, with six players to pick.

Also new for 2016/17 is the Premier Punt app, which is available on Apple and Android.

What’s more, Premier Punt has also become an official partner of Southampton FC this season.

Why Should I Play?

Premier Punt’s scoring model mimics the Fantasy Premier League’s and translates it directly to its game platform. This makes it easy to use for those familiar with FPL. A key difference is that no bonus points are factored in, but aside from that the team you pick should be on the same principles as FPL, albeit with a wildcard in place each week.

Player prices are also different and set by Premier Punt’s own algorithm, so there is some extra thinking to do rather than simply translating your FPL line up into your Punt XI each time.

How Do I Get Started?

You can register with an account with Premier Punt here, without having to add credit card details or deposit funds.

Once registered, you need to select one of the games on offer – picking the Weekly Game type will give you access to the various tournaments on offer for Gameweek 1.

Simply select the weekly games, then choose your XI and then join up with the contest or “challenge” of your choice.

Among the main weekly game prizes is a £5 entry game with a £1,000 pot. When playing any paid game Fantasy managers can also gain access to a free entry game, which has a £500 pot.

        Don't let your GW1 teams be overruled by current ownership. A major factor in most of this ownership is either player name (for newcomers) or last season points sorting, irrespective of any other pressing details.

        The guy ranked #1 in the world GW1 can end up with a 6 digit rank, just as much as the opposite.

              ah. nah it could pay off. oscar is punt but his form is great. and u still have strong captain options without them. sanchez starts gw 1 with a bang and everyone else will find it very difficult to fit him in i suspect

          I think it is likely, but there is a lot of competition.

          AoC, Campbell, Ramsey, Cazorla, Iwobi.

          Assuming Sanchez plays as striker, with Cazorla behind, I would play Campbell and Walcott on the wings. But who knows (Arsene Knows)

              Well I mean Baines isn't exclusively on either, but I think he's got a high chance of taking some free kicks, as well as the pens if Lukaku leaves or misses one. Could be the difference since him and Coleman are pretty similar otherwise.

          I'm sure Stones will be eased in, Ayew probably the same, both teams have plenty of options for their positions. Williams was a doubt to start for Swansea so I reckon he won't start either. I'm staying clear for a few weeks.

        Pogba's only been on there for about 10 hours and he's at over 5% ownership. Not groundbreaking numbers but in terms of an ownership rise that's pretty crazy.

        Fancy him to be at least 20% by the start of FPL

          Pogba is box to box. He wont be holding. He'll play in the double pivot but with a license to get forward (like Fat Frank had at Chelsea).

          His numbers at Juve have been approx 8 goals and 12 assists per season for the last couple of years.

          Do the maths, and you have a good fantasy prospect for 8.5m... IF he can hit similiar numbers in the prem.

          32 starts (85% of games) = 64pts
          8 goals = 40 pts
          12 assists = 36 pts
          12 cleansheets = 12 pts
          Bonus = approx 20pts
          —
          Total: 172 pts (approx 5.375 ptrs / game)

          I'm sticking with Gray for the first gameweek - but I have a gut feeling Carroll could be the star 6.5 forward because he'll have Ayew, Payet and Fegoulhi all feeding him... They have a tough opening match, so just watchng from the sidelines for now.
