Premier Punt Returns for the New Season

Premier Punt was a regular on our pages last season and, after a summer hiatus, we are delighted to announce it is back and ready to fire over the new campaign.

What is it?

To refresh your memory Premier Punt offers Fantasy managers a range of formats, including daily and weekly games to play.

As with last season, its weekly and daily games ask Fantasy managers to find the best 11 players from a £100m budget. This includes finding a captain and vice captain.

There’s a range of new features as well this season, including a single match format, with six players to pick.

Also new for 2016/17 is the Premier Punt app, which is available on Apple and Android.

What’s more, Premier Punt has also become an official partner of Southampton FC this season.

Why Should I Play?

Premier Punt’s scoring model mimics the Fantasy Premier League’s and translates it directly to its game platform. This makes it easy to use for those familiar with FPL. A key difference is that no bonus points are factored in, but aside from that the team you pick should be on the same principles as FPL, albeit with a wildcard in place each week.

Player prices are also different and set by Premier Punt’s own algorithm, so there is some extra thinking to do rather than simply translating your FPL line up into your Punt XI each time.

How Do I Get Started?

You can register with an account with Premier Punt here, without having to add credit card details or deposit funds.

Once registered, you need to select one of the games on offer – picking the Weekly Game type will give you access to the various tournaments on offer for Gameweek 1.

Simply select the weekly games, then choose your XI and then join up with the contest or “challenge” of your choice.

Among the main weekly game prizes is a £5 entry game with a £1,000 pot. When playing any paid game Fantasy managers can also gain access to a free entry game, which has a £500 pot.

For more information Premier Punt has made this explainer video available. Premier Punt will also provide updates on its latest games and offers via its Facebook and Twitter accounts.

    Why?

Aguero has been in my draft since day one and will probably remain there until the start of the season.

Ibrahimovic however is someone that I don't actually want, yet feel the need to have. I'd much rather have Kane as I feel he will do better over the course of the season, 200+ in my opinion. I have Ibra down as getting 160-190.

The reason I have Ibra though is because if he scores in GW1, then scores again in GW2, which he is more than capable of doing, his price will rise. This would essentially make him unobtainable for those that don't have him. Whereas I would then downgrade him to Kane and free up some cash. Spurs have a good run from GW3 onwards.

As well as scoring twice, Austin has just shown Puel what he wants to see.

Austin pulls wide, runs the channel and crosses - assist for Austin. Vid:

Is Stones really that good value? Doesn't seem to pose much attacking threat and I don't expect many clean sheets for Man City for a while until they start clicking together in the new system.

As you rightly say, it'll depend on how advanced he plays or freedom in the role he is given. Delighted as a United fan, but will absolutely wait and see before I consider him for FPL.

Fuchs was great to own last season and he's a good option again, but I only want one 5.5 (went for Walker). Reckon a Leicester defender is a good idea so I've gone with Morgan, as he's cheaper and still offers some attacking threat.

Can somebody explain to me how does the selling tranfer fees work ?
I remember from last season that when I wanted to sell a player worth, for example, £8.4 in Gameweek 10, I got only £8.1 or £8.2 for him (probably what he was worth two or three gameweeks ago).

A clear explanation of how the system runs would be very helpful.

      Buy for 8.0
      Rise to 8.4
      Sell for (8.4-8.0)/2 = 8.2

Everytime a player goes up .2 you get .1 back. So if you bought a player at 6m and he goes up to 6.2m he will be 6.1 in your team, likewise if a players falls in price

      Thank you guys.

So if you buy Feghouli for £5.5 in GW1 and by the end of the year he's worth £7.5, you'll get £6.5 by selling him, right ?

And if someone gets him late for £7.0 and decides to sell him when he's £7.5, he's gonna get 7.2£ ?

Doesn't seem fair for the one who gambled on Feghouli from GW1...

Then I probably won't shift Vardy. But could splash the 1m on the GW1 Michu/Mahrez bandwagon. It's a planned transfer but the plan is flexible.

Pretty good! But surely there's better 7.5m mids than Walcott?

i'd rather have the focal point of a non "top" team for 7.5m than a 7.5m 50/50 starter from one - esp in wk1 - but to each their own...

you're also exposing yourself to a high-risk price drop as if he blanks the offload will be as fast as a 19-yo theo walcott.

              THIS (just for starters)

Heck - I'd rather have Redmond than Walcott & i do.

Yep... wanted tadic and ended with Redmond to make way for Kun, Ibra, Vardy and Hazard

    Foster/Heaton/Kone

    or

    Mannone/Pickford/Williams

    Thoughts?

Assuming Ashley Williams goes to Everton:

    (A) Tadic and Amat (punty 5th defender who might play)

    (B) Lamela and 4.5m 5th defender

If Benteke joins Palace on say Friday, can he play the day after? Or is there a certain period he should be at the club before getting to play?

i think that's better but i just don't see Alli as a #1 MID (solid enough #2 behind Ozil/ KDB/Sanchez/Haz maybe Mahrez) but you've made your KunIbra bed so...

Why do people think Austin won't play? hit 18 goals for qpr and now there is no pelle for competition think he could be a steal

    Front 7:
    A) Firmino - Fab - Tadic - Siggy - Kun - Ibra - 6.5
    Or
    B) Hazard - De Bruyne - Siggy - Townsend - Kun - Lukaku - 6.5

I know Sunderland are dire, but I thought city looked a mess against arsenal, I expect them to be flying by October-november, and aguero can score whenever, but I don't expect a rout. Plus Moyes will simply play to avoid that, for a point. Just me?
