The Weekend Team News

Dimitri Payet looks poised for his first start of the season, according to Slaven Bilic. Tottenham’s Danny Rose is sidelined with a hamstring problem, Alex Iwobi is available for Arsenal, whilst Swansea’s record signing has a chance of making Sunday’s match with Chelsea.

Slaven Bilic confirmed he is looking to hand Dimitri Payet his first start of the season after the playmaker stepped up his fitness with a couple of sub appearances for France over the international break. Manuel Lanzini is now fully fit, whilst Sofiane Feghouli is back in full training and available for the Hammers.

George Friend, Victor Valdes and Martin de Roon have all recovered from injury in time to host Palace tomorrow. Fabio, James Husband and Grant Leadbitter remain sidelined, whilst Gaston Ramirez and Christhian Stuani will be assessed after arriving back late from internationals.

Hugo Lloris is available for Spurs’ trip to Stoke after recovering from a hamstring problem. Danny Rose is ruled out with a similar complaint and Mousa Dembele serves the last of a six-match suspension.

Kasper Schmeichel has recovered from minor hernia surgery ahead of Leicester’s trip to Liverpool. New boy Islam Slimani could be in line for a debut, though Nampalys Mendy and Jeffrey Schlupp are still sidelined through injury.

Alex Iwobi is back in the Arsenal squad after recovering from injury, whilst Alexis Sanchez and David Ospina will be assessed after arriving back late from internationals.

Seamus Coleman is back in contention for Everton’s trio to Sunderland after turning out for Republic of Ireland over the international break. James McCarthy is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing groin surgery and is joined on the sidelines by Darron Gibson. Tom Cleverley is expected to resume training on Saturday ahead of Monday’s match.

Fraser Forster has recovered from an arm injury as Southampton head to the Emirates. Ryan Bertrand could be in line for a first start, though new boy Sofiane Boufal is expected to take up to one month before reaching full fitness after undergoing knee surgery back in April.

Francesco Guidolin is hopeful he can include Swansea’s record signing Borja Baston on the bench as he steps up his match fitness. Neil Taylor will be pushing for a first start after improving his sharpness with a run out for Wales over the break.

Sadio Mane is available for Liverpool’s clash with Leicester after his midweek withdrawal whilst on duty for Senegal. Emre Can, Sheyi Ojo and Ragnar Klavan are sidelined though injury, though keeper Loris Karius has recovered quickly from a hand problem.

Eddie Howe was reluctant to confirm whether Jack Wilshere will make his first start for Bournemouth this weekend after arriving on loan from Arsenal. Josh King is a doubt for the Cherries’ clash with West Brom, though – he picked up a hamstring problem on international duties with Norway and has failed to train since.

Xherdan Shaqiri has failed to recover from a calf complaint and will miss Stoke’s home match with Spurs. Glenn Johnson is back in training and expected to be available, though Jack Butland is out for up to 10 weeks after undergoing ankle surgery Ramadan Sobhi and Geoff Cameron made a late return from international duties and will be assessed. Mame Biram Diouf is almost certain to miss out with a hamstring issue sustained for Senegal over the break.

Palace frontman Loic Remy has been ruled out for “seven to eight weeks” with a thigh injury.Midfield pair Yohan Cabaye and James McArthur are “touch and go”, according to Alan Pardew.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

    Spare a thought on this,

If you have Kinglsey from the start, and you are now on WC, would you ditch?

        Tks all

I guess the question is that there isn't any 4.0 playing defender, and i would like to keep may 5th def on the level.
        Kingsley its now 4.1…Amat also.

Antonio, but that's bcos I got him in before gw3.
Choosing now it would be the Payet then Antonio then Lanzini if ££ no object but would choose whoever I could manage after other premium mids as I don't expect as much difference in their points as the prices suggest.

I think everyone will have Cazorla once Kun is back. Im leaving money ITB for a direct swap when the time comes and hes the best midfielder that i can afford while owning Hazard.

On wildcard. Does it make sense to go with De Roon at 4.4m as 5th mid or stick with Capoue?

Capoue is a more attacking player and could continue to rise in price. De Roon is a CDM and 2nd sub fodder.

Is the 0.2m worth more than the better bench cover and potential price rises of Capoue?

    1. PurpleCobras
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 9 months ago

If you already have Capoue, definitely keep. Those attacking points could be invaluable on the rare occasions when you need to use your bench, and his rising value is just a bonus

There is absolutely nothing between Ozil and Payet

    last season points per 90mins

    Ozil = 5.92
    Payet = 5.99

    Fixtures are in Payet's favour.

    Repost, thoughts on this?

Thinking about doing Ramirez ---> Lanzini (-4)

What worries me about Ramirez is that I've looked at a few predicted line ups and he isn't in a few of them. He played in both internationals for Uru and he still hasn't played 90 minutes in a game for MID. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start this weekend.

Lanzini in the other hand has great fixtures and is nailed, playing at 10 (apparently)

I also own Gray and he is 100% leaving my team next week, due to his impending ban and poor fixtures. Meaning if I do keep Ramirez this week, I will probably also keep him next week.

With all that in mind is it worth doing?

    1. Margarido
      • 11 Years

      Do it.
Ramirez its also injury prone, muscle wise, so Karanka might save him for this GW

Going with Baines to start with, hopefully see if he's still on penos and then switch to PVA, free up 0.5m, when Suds fixtures turn good.

      That's the plan anyhow....

Baines is surely off penalties now with Lukaku back.

SORT OF bottomed on last page: "Not liking Wengers comment about Mustafi in the tweets...surely he will start?" 🙂

I'm not so sure. Haven't seen what Wenger said in his conference, but Holding and Kos did alright last time out, Mustafa will have barely trained with them, and they have PSG on Tuesday.
Wouldn't surprise me AT ALL to see Holding and Kos start again.

        “We will see.

“They have shown their quality in training.

“I haven’t decided yet [whether they will start], I have to decide.”

I've switched him with Love from Sunderland who is 4.0, feel he may get more minutes with Neil Taylor being back for Swansea.

yeah, would swap strikers in 2 GWs. One down to Benteke or Bony, and one up to Aguero.

    A) Puncheon in now on WC
    B) Mirallas in now, then out for a hit when I need Kun back.

A if you are selling Mirallas for a hit in 2 weeks anyways IMO.

Considering both and on A for now just because of the number of wing options at Everton

Bolasie is more nailed, but I really like Mirallas as a player. He seems to be the first to get subbed off though.

Needs the hit, I need a 5.5 mid long term to afford Kun, Ibra, Hazard, Ozil/Sanchez.

    REPOST - Any feedback please?

    Foster/Robinson
    Valencia - Williams - Evans - Friend - Amat
    Hazard - KDB - Mane - Barkley - Capoure
    Costa - Giroud - Benteke

I know KDB is not a popular pick but i just think he is so vital to city's midfield and isn't a rotation risk.

Are Giroud and Benteke terrible punts? Who would you prefer?
Thanks so much guys and hopefully you all are having better luck with your WC's :/

If Giroud is nailed, then he is a great punt. I have him in revision 830 of my WC team.

Would you prefer this team instead?

        Foster/Robinson
        Valencia - Williams - Evans - Friend - Amat
        Hazard - Nolito - Mane - Ozil - Capoure
        Costa - Lukaku - Benteke
