The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Third Round Draw

This evening we reveal the managers who have made it through to the third round of the 13th instalment of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this latest contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

Last year’s winner I Casillas Winning’s score of 55 saw him overcome Tufs to set up a round three clash with Allezlechef. Just 10,000 places separates this pair in the overall rankings.

Gribude is another former cup holder to make it through. He beat Allgonepozzo in round two and faces Cok3y5murf next.

Ex-champ MCH also progresses, after seeing off Shem Bayley. He takes on community regular Rhinos in round three.

Sadly, the second round marked the end of the road for another former winner, Ninja Fit Saints, who was beaten 70-49 by Jurgen.

The highest scoring manager of the round and recipient of a £30 FanDuel credit was DaJoeyNdo Show, whose sensational score of 95 left Stoorey’s tally of 40 for dust and saw him leap from 346,603rd in the overall rankings to 57,443rd.

Teguh D Puncak, who he faces next, is unlikely to be worried though as he sits more than 50,000 places higher within the top 5,000.

The four next high scoring managers, who all receive a £10 FanDuel credit, were Captainjpd, Delt_eple, DJDave1979 and Dogba.

Andy85wsm, the competition’s only Scoutcast representative to make it past the first round, marches on. He beat Lardy to set up a third round tie with Anuliz.

Two other members of our moderator and contributor team also make it through. Greenwindmill will face Archie, while Stilicho squares up to lowlifegimpe in round three.

Other notable match ups in the next round include Lateriser12’s encounter with The TinMan, Parm’s tie with TommyJ and What the Fans Say community article writer Bolivian Seaman’s clash with Al Fresco.

The manager to draw the short straw in round three is 433,854 ranked Malvern Angells. He faces Dempele, who at 177th is the highest placed manager remaining in the tournament.

The second round results can be found via this link, while the full third round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

DZ, I need your assistance please.

Who to bench out of these 3?

    A) Allen (BUR) - could be back in number 10 role against a Burnley defence that hasn't been doing well away from home

    B) Snodgrass (mid) - going in to the match with confidence, as he scored in OT against Newcastle and scored in the penalty shootout, which lead to a win

    C) Sigurdsson (tot) - away against his former side, which could be a tough defence at WHL. He has been doing well against big teams this season, scoring against eve, ars and CHE + assisting against the two City sides.

    Appreciate any help 🙂

I'd place Snodgrass on the bench because he just played 120 mins and can't see Hull scoring multiple goals
Those type of games are emotionally draining and will take its toll this weekend
normally very tough to follow it up with a good performance

2 fts and currently got Ddg and Jaku in goal but I need funds to do Coutinho > Firminho. So was thinking of downgrading Ddg to a 5m max Gk. Who's best to bring in that I can play for the next 3 to 4 Gwks as Jaku don't play. I'll ship Jaku next available transfer. Thanks

    Foster
    Cedric/McAuley/Pieters

Depends on who you buy. Siggy is the stock option currently so it's more about when you buy.

Plan to get in Siggy next gw. Anyone worth a punt for one gw? Arnie or shaqiri maybe?

Pretty much need the new player to outscore Siggy and Bolasie by at least 4 to even bother. I'd just get Siggy or wait a week.

Wouldn't waste a transfer on a one week punt. Siggy is a better option this week than Bolasie in my opinion. The only question is how likely it is he will score more 4 points more than Bolasie.
Probably also save 0.1-0.2 doing it this week depending on if you lose on a potential Bolasie price fall.

    A few questions-
1)Fletcher vs De Roon(worth getting in Fletcher if you are on a WC and have the extra 0.1 cause i feel he is more nailed or dont bother)?
2)Stoke vs Wat vs Boro vs Bur - which teams 4.5 or under def should i go for( mostly CS potential as barely anyone in that price range has attacking threat)

      2) Boro out of those. Otherwise look at WBA if you can rotate 15,17-19, 21 until GW 27.
Could look at Bournemouth or Sunderland

            Not true really.

It is doubtful that Austin can play 3 games in a week. Over Xmas/New Year Southampton have 3 games in 5 days. GW16 & 19 could be at risk for him.

Wenger has spoken about giving Sanchez a winter break, that could conceivably affect GW20/21 for example.

            1. Delhidynamo
              • 9 Years
              7 years, 6 months ago

Wenger also put those rumors to bed the next day

"I never forced in my whole life a player to play. Suggestions we forced him to play are wrong," Wenger said.

"If I have the possibility I would like to give a winter break to everyone. I just had a chance to do it with (Mesut) Ozil."

How is that putting the matter to bed? Looks like he is confirming it to me.

                  7 years, 6 months ago

Ozil's break was done by him not being selected for Germany during intl break.

His preferred scenario would be that nobody gets selected for intl break so they get a rest.

                  Watch the presser yourself

I did. Clearly Sanchez not being selected for an international break isn't happening. So Wenger plans to engineer a mid-season break for him if he can. I don't know what's unclear about that.

KAnte, I have Haz and Costa in my team but skeptical with them taking points with City at home.
        P.S: I am a Chelsea fan 😛

If Llorente becomes a regular starter, what does it mean for Siggy's position?

Farmed out to the wing? Moved back into midfield trio?

      I guess behind Llorente
and it will.also help siggy as.llorente is very good in.holding up the play that will allow siggy more space

Bought in Kane to captain him against swansea. But Im seriously tempted by Alexis (C)

He could run riot against a toothless westham side.(cresswell and antonio injured?)

Well Wenger rested pretty much everyone last night so I'd imagine it'l be the same as against Bournemouth but with Jenkinson in for Debuchy.

    Morning all!

    What do you reckon?

    A) start Deeney (wba)
    B) start Holebas (wba) and bench Deeney
    C) ditch Deeney to Austin (cry) for a -4

Othewise team is now in a rather good shape after a hit for Cout & Lukaku to Pedro and Kane.

    Cech (whu)
Lovren (bou) Chambers (HUL) Pieters (BUR)
Sanchez (whu) Firmino (bou) Sigurdsson (tot) Pedro (mci)
Kun (CHE) Kane (BUR) c Deeney (wba)

Pickford (LEI) Holebas (wba) Amat (tot) Carrick (eve)

    0 FT and 0 ITB

    Play:
Siggy (Tot away) - or - Allen (Bur home)?

Feel like Siggy might get something at his former club but there's no doubt that's a pretty terrible match. Surely Stoke have a better chance to be in the goals this weekend, but Allen doesn't come with set pieces.

If Firmino is out the decision makes itself.

I'm assuming you held on to Allen to play him this weekend, and he is the right play in my view

He'll be nice and rested 🙂

Cheers. I'm sure this is one of the matches I was hoping to have him for, but he will probably be a season keeper honestly if he keeps it decently up.
