The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Third Round Draw

This evening we reveal the managers who have made it through to the third round of the 13th instalment of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this latest contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

Last year’s winner I Casillas Winning’s score of 55 saw him overcome Tufs to set up a round three clash with Allezlechef. Just 10,000 places separates this pair in the overall rankings.

Gribude is another former cup holder to make it through. He beat Allgonepozzo in round two and faces Cok3y5murf next.

Ex-champ MCH also progresses, after seeing off Shem Bayley. He takes on community regular Rhinos in round three.

Sadly, the second round marked the end of the road for another former winner, Ninja Fit Saints, who was beaten 70-49 by Jurgen.

The highest scoring manager of the round and recipient of a £30 FanDuel credit was DaJoeyNdo Show, whose sensational score of 95 left Stoorey’s tally of 40 for dust and saw him leap from 346,603rd in the overall rankings to 57,443rd.

Teguh D Puncak, who he faces next, is unlikely to be worried though as he sits more than 50,000 places higher within the top 5,000.

The four next high scoring managers, who all receive a £10 FanDuel credit, were Captainjpd, Delt_eple, DJDave1979 and Dogba.

Andy85wsm, the competition’s only Scoutcast representative to make it past the first round, marches on. He beat Lardy to set up a third round tie with Anuliz.

Two other members of our moderator and contributor team also make it through. Greenwindmill will face Archie, while Stilicho squares up to lowlifegimpe in round three.

Other notable match ups in the next round include Lateriser12’s encounter with The TinMan, Parm’s tie with TommyJ and What the Fans Say community article writer Bolivian Seaman’s clash with Al Fresco.

The manager to draw the short straw in round three is 433,854 ranked Malvern Angells. He faces Dempele, who at 177th is the highest placed manager remaining in the tournament.

The second round results can be found via this link, while the full third round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

If you're that worried, he'll more than likely drop before Saturday so if price is an issue just make whatever move you're contemplating

    2. McAuley & Walcott (0.6 ITB)

    Heaton

For this week, 2. But I've gone Pedro over Walcott as I have Sanchez and not hazard

On WC so thinking more long-term, but agree I'd much rather have Walcott than Pedro, particularly as I have Haz and no Arsenal cover...
But Walker fixtures are so plum......

On WC would not bring in Heaton/Robinson combo. Can't afford Pickford? Heaton / Burnley will regress and return to relegation fight in my opinion - don't see a lot of clean sheets in that team in the near future despite the surprisingly solid start.

Of those two options would go for 2 as you own Haz and I don't love a midfield double up by the same team with so many options.

If I were you, I would drop Walcott and Firmino and get in Sanchez and a decent cheapish 4th mid instead.

        Really interesting thoughts.

I went Heaton as a season-keeper, as his save points are so good. I hate rotating keepers as I always miss the CS, so reckoned Robinson at least guarantees a 4.0 GK who plays when Heaton doesn't.

I agree - heart says Walcott over Pedro. But with Walker having 3 very strong CS chances in next 4 games, I see Walcott needing 4-5 points more than Pedro each week... With Chelsea having easier fixtures than Arsenal! So I keep changing my mind...

        Firm + Walcott/Pedro -> Sanchez + 4.8
Bit nervous of no Liverpool cover (even with Cout injury) and no-one decent in 4.8 bracket.

Personally I agree with the poster above.

I think Burnley/Heaton have been extremely lucky getting the CS/save points they have and now the house of cards are slowly starting to collapse.

I know if it pretty scary to go without any Pool mids. But with Cout out, Lallana a doubt and probably a new system with Origi/Sturridge up top, I can't see Firm/Mane keep being the excellent value they have been up until now. Furthermore I don't think Pool's long term fixtures are as good as everyone makes them...

On a WC I would go for a core of these players
          Sanchez, Hazard, Siggy
          Kun, Kane, Austin

you can play each of those 6 each GW for the foreseeable future. with the option to switch Kane to Costa/Ibra if necessary.

If you have 4.8 you can even try your luck on Can. He should be nailed with now, right?

Unless much changes over the weekend my two transfers next week are going to be:

    Allen & Aguero out

    Siggy & Ibra in

Happy enough to lose Sergio considering the inevitable rotation he will face from Pep over the Xmas period which looks likely to be on one or two of the more favourable games.

    1. ItOnlyTook9Years

Inevitable rotation is a strong assumption based on it happening in one week and really not working out.

The assumption is based on Peps idiology as a coach that rotation is an important part of a successful team.

Yeah I suppose. A lot would have to happen to change my mind as no other options seem to take my fancy. I just need Siggy to not rise by more than one more 0.1m or I won't be able to afford it.

When has Pep regularly rotated leading strikers at Barca and Bayern?

Something other than at the end of the season when the Bundesliga was won by the end of March.

Here's hoping. Nothing like a new shiny klopp bought attacking mid to up the excitement 😀
Dunno though. He won't buy for the sake of it. He'll buy if the right long term targets are available for the right price. Wijnaldum, Can, Origi biting at the bit to make their marks on this season.
Now you actually have me very worried about being without them. Both have been so key so far. Hopefully Cout is back by ACON time.

I went for Kane in a -4 combination with Pedro for Cout. Reckoned I'd wait on Costa this week as if a yellow happens it'll likely happen in a more challenging match.
Then may do Kane -> Costa if Kane fails

        1. Licious Lizard
          • 11 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

I know I am in the minority, but I can't see him and Mane keeping up the value.

Klopp will probably play a forward, who will share the points. Losing Cout will have an impact. Slightly new system will as well. Fixtures long term are not that great.

Clop might even pause his heavy metal tactic and focus just a bit more on defence for the next few weeks until they'll get the hang of everything.

          1. Z
            • 7 Years

From the stats at the start of the season, Firmino was playing better when he was shifted to the left wing and without Coutinho on the field. Whether pr not it still has the same effect, we'll have to wait and see.

            1. Licious Lizard
              • 11 Years
              7 years, 6 months ago

Yep and I am not suggesting that he will suffer if he will be moved to the left. I just think the changes in the squad and system will have an effect on his attacking output.

People are still thinking they have "amazing" fixtures, but they don't long term. I think this is a good opportunity to jump ship while it's time and shift to players, who I think offers better value that the Pool mids.

But yes you are correct, we will have to wait and see 🙂

Can anybody help me here, need to pick between Siggy or Lallana? Seems terrifying to not have a Liverpool mid but im veering towards Siggy with those fixtures. Think he may be rotated less than Lallana over the next 6 weeks too.

    Rest of team is:

    Heaton/ Pickford
    Alonso/ Cedric/ Evans/Amat/ Kingsley
    Sanchez/ Hazard/ XXX / Moses/ Capoue
    Aguero/ Kane/ Austin

Thanks for any responses and suggestions.

        It's possible, as I have the same (104.5 TV & 0.1 ITB).
        Early season price-rise jumps, mostly:

        G: Heaton / Foster
        D: Alonso / Clyne / McAuley / Holebas - Amat
        M: Hazard / Sanchez / Sigurdsson / Allen / Fletcher

        Firmino
        Eriksen
Short term anyway. It will be interesting to see how a Sanchez/Allen combo scores over the next few week compared to Alli/Erik

watching WH this morning Sanchez, Theo and Ozil may rip them apart
Cresswell and Antonio big chances of being out.

Yeah, if United can put 4 past them, Sanchez could be on for another brace.

Not sure if West Ham's defence is any better than Swansea considering those absentees and Sanchez is in better form than Kane

Got two free transfers. If I do cout/fuchs to alexis/cedric leaves me with this team and the need to shave 0.7 from somewhere... any ideas?

        Karius Pickford
        Alonso cedric mcauley holebas amat
        alexis walcott firmino hazard fletcher
        aguero benteke austin

Can't see anything obvious. Even Karius to Mannone leaves me 0.1 short.
First time looking at my team this week, screwed myself. I've missed out on probably half a mil between alexis and coutinho in the past week. Would have been easy if I'd sorted it on monday. 😡
