The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Fifth Round Draw

With a break in our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition during the midweek fixtures, we spend some time this evening to see who has made it through to fifth round, which takes place during Gameweek 17 this coming weekend.

A reminder that, for this latest contest, there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition the highest scoring manager each round wins a £30 FanDuel credit, with community regular Moin earning this prize after his 65 point Gameweek 15 haul. He next faces msq22 in round five.

The next four highest scoring managers in round four win a £10 FanDuel credit. These will be handed out to Pinky Unites, who scored 63, DJDave1979, who scored 61 along with twobitgooner, and BC1, Bashvilla, Hagop, who all hit the 60 point mark.

The highest placed manager left in the competition is 216 ranked Bacuna Matata, who along with Pink Unites, won a £30 FanDuel voucher for the top highest score back in the third round.

The unfortunate manager to face this early frontrunner to win the competition is lowlifegimpe, who is ranked 337,555.

In a closely fought contest, our only remaining Fantasy Football Scout staff representative, TorresMagic, has made it through to round five, after squeezing past Zambhino10 by just a single point.

The moderator has another tough encounter in store when he takes on Smooth Rossi, who at 6,687 in the overall rankings is more than 7,000 places above him.

Other eye catching ties taking place in round five include Funkyav’s clash with Big Phil Soccer Team and Cobberlsnz taking on Bash Villa, who incidentally sent me packing back in the first round.

The fourth round results can be found via this link, while the full fifth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Anyone considering a 4-4-2 for December? With Costa and Kane up front, the popular premium picks in midfield, and Alonso and a Spurs defender in defence.

No one really looks worth the money for a cheap 5th mid or 3rd striker right?

Repost for new post and more feedback:

    Question...

What would interest be in something like in a live Scoutcast during games such as this Wednesday evening when there's lots of matches on at the same time.

I'm not saying anyone (Mark and co) are thinking of it or even that I have to be involves but interested to know people's thoughts as I always thought it could be interesting.

Perhaps take live viewer questions to fill the space in between goals and assists etc

      Absolutely top notch idea.

I'd suggest just for the likes of FNF or MNF when everybody is watching the same game. It'd be diluted otherwise.

Not sure it would work for single.marches though, wouldn't be enough going on to talk about. You'd essentially just be doing a Scoutcast with a little more interruption.

I think if there were multiple games on there's more to report on and talk about plus more joy and despair from the co-hosts

        1. Dr Dream
          • 11 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

Maybe just suck it and see and refine it as an idea as it goes along. It has legs for sure.

Maybe just as good could be a scoutcast either just before kick off (and after line ups)
Or straight after the matches when emotions are hightened.

          • 8 Years

Agree. You need multiple games to get enough action to comment on. A Saturday with 6 or 7 games would be ideal

Too quick a turnaround for that - I've not even suggested it as an idea yet 🙂

I think format would have to be a bit different anyway. Scoutcast wouldn't necessarily work with live games- too.many interruptions to questions.

My idea is more the interruptions are the questions as hopefully you'll be talking about what's going on live

    Thoughts here guys?

    Foster - Grant
    Kosc - Lovren - Baines - Amat - Holebas
    Firm - Sanch - Wally - Haz - Capoue
    Kane - Austin - Origi

    1ft and 1.3itb

    Austin -> Carrol?
    Lovren -> Azpi?

    Might hold firmino for now..

    Fellas.

Firmino + Austin to Eriksen + Origi (-4)? Or just 1 of them?

Help me out with some advice on this lot?

    Foster, Jaku
    Alonso, Cedric, Barragan, Ake, Amat
    Sanchez, Hazard, Firmino, Siggy, Capoue,
    Costa, Origi, Anichebe

    1FT, 6.4m ITB

Think I need to get Kane in- do you recommend:

    A) Firmino and Anichebe to Kane and Eriksen (-4)
    B) Anichebe and Capoue to Kane and De Roon (-4)
    C) Anything else?

Can’t just do Anichebe to Kane, need to downgrade.

    Cheers

I would probably go with A. Either Kane or Eriksen, or likely both will reward you.

Yeah suppose could put Ibra in there instead of Kane but the next 2 fixtures are too good. Don't see a good alternative to Eriksen. Can just swap out one or both in a few weeks.

A for me given you have Origi as cover at the moment and can't see him being dropped having scored in last 3

Captaincy options for me: Ibra, Costa, Sanchez.

Ibra: only one in ML with him, MU to start pushing for games? Mata back too.
Costa: Will get returns, not a differential although most people captaining Kane.
Sanchez: Depends what Everton show up, think it's a bit risky.

Really don't know what to do with this lot:

    Heaton - Pickford
    Holebas - Cedric - Alonso - Gibson - 4.3
    Siggy - Hazard - Firmino - Philips - Sanchez
    Kane - Defoe - Austin

    0.2 itb

I know Austin needs to go but I have no way of getting Costa or do I just go Iheannacho?

Do you not think. 3 weeks in a row of red arrows, poor captain choices mainly.

Would you hold firmino or swap to erikson?

Would you get rid of either Austin or Firmino at this point. If so for who?

Does anyone know how long Austin is out for?

    Boruc
    Alonso - LOVREN - McAuley
    Hazard - Sanchez - Sigurdsson - Firmino
    Costa - Kane - Anichebe

    Pickford, Capoue, Amat, Francis
    1FT, 0.2m ITB

    A) Save
    B) Firmino-->Eriksen/someone else?
    C) Upgrade defence, e.g. Lovren -->?

    Evening chaps,

    Would you start:
    A) Pickford (CHE)
    B) Valdez (LIV)

I wouldn't pick either to keep a cleanie so it's really who's gonna get the most saves... currently on Pickford

    Cheers!
