The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – Sixth Round Draw

This evening we reveal who has made it through to Gameweek 18’s sixth round fixtures of our open to all Fantasy Premier League cup competition.

For this contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition, the highest scoring manager each round will win a £30 FanDuel credit, with Big Phil Soccer Team winning that accolade after defeating Funkyav 74 to 51.

He squares up to the FFScout moderator and contributor crew’s last remaining representative, TorresMagic, in what looks like being one of the last 32’s toughest clashes. Just under 10,000 places in the overall rankings separates this pair.

The next highest scoring managers in round five, Tutankhamun, Real Sociopath, Moin, DillyDingDillyDongFC and A Manager Has No Name all win a £10 FanDuel credit.

Among this group DillyDingDillyDongFC will be a favourite to progress, as his rank of 7,316 makes him the highest placed manager left in the competition.

He faces one of the competition’s lowest ranked managers, Space Cadete, who is positioned at 1,033,108 in the overall standings.

Other eye catching community regular ties in round six include Bashvilla’s match with Pinky Unites and The Shoe Makers fixture against Back on the Horse.

The fifth round results can be found via this link, while the full sixth round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Safe to assume 15% FPL teams are dead?
As of now Aguero ownership is 17.7% and Coutinho 15.3%

Heard someone say 40% of teams have not made a transfer in the past 5 weeks. 60% still "active" is really good.

And I still managed to get a GW rank of 3.8m, class act! #CupCurseContinues -_-

I was so happy with my Triple Chelsea Alonso Hazard Costa till after City match
but this constant niggling injury of Hazard is hurting his performances I think

but he has done great so far

the Choice to sell and or to keep is getting very harder
with Kun and Cout returning along with Walcott consistency and Lallana plus Mane's surge from last weeks
is fading Hazard a little bit

    what are your views?
Will he be the most Likely to be Sold when you need Cash to accommodate either KDB/Kun or like another premium defender?

these 2 home games are his chance but everything is against him atm which is worrying

        -niggle
        - form
        - Chelsea as a whole scoring less goals
        - other options creeping up

just hope he comes out of this with a bang against odds

I sold him to allow me to double up on their defence (+costa). Got KDB in just for a punt vs hull. When he's fit again Coutinho is coming back into that slot which'll give me the money to upgrade ibra to aguero if i choose

I'd love to, my bench/11th player is pathetic. It could come down to not upgrading Ibra to aguero and instead spending that money on upgrading allen. We'll see.

Does a midfield of Sanchez - Mane - Phillips - Zaha - De Roon look justifiable if it's to afford a front three of Ibra - Costa - Aguero?

I could replace Mane with Coutinho. It's more about whether having two mids around Zaha and Phillips price points are justifiable

DeRoon is arguably the best fifth mid. Zaha and Phillips are excellent value. What's the difference between having Hazard and Origi compared to Costa and an extra one of Zaha/Phillips? None...

The problem is the lack of other options at the price bracket.

        1. Holmes

          • 10 Years

Yeah, the difference is in potential form and proven FPL history. An form Firmino-Benteke duo destroys an in-form Costa-Zaha duo. With the former you can give it more time too since they are proven FPL assets. With the latter you are questioning the picks every week if Costa blanks and Zaha returns to his normal 2-3 pointer returns. Also allows you a little more freedom to work on other weaknesses in your team. Basically, having players in your team you want to transfer out weekly can get annoying. Happening with Defoe for me right now.

P.S. I know of teams with a Gundo, Allen, Capoue mid when they were firing. A Kun blank/suspension to tend to, followed by blanks with no notice from the other three resulted in a couple of shocking 30 point weeks.

            • 12 Years

They were likely playing all 3 which is completely different to playing 2 with De Roon as a fodder. Also, Capoue was always likely to regress heavily and as for Gundo, well if “firing“ is what you call returns in just GW5 and GW10, you have a completely different idea of what that means than I do.

Looks ok to me. My issue with it is I don't really trust many of the midfield options at that price bracket. What happens to Zaha when he goes to AFCON?

Make a team for long term. Would be better if you can save 2nd WC for long.

Midfield is fine. Defense and forward need some work.

I wanted to go into the festive season with a pretty solid team and an all playing bench.
The "plan" is to use one trade in the next 3 game weeks to go into game week 21 with 2 trades and maybe a mini wildcard with a few hits.

    Thoughts?

    Heaton
    Alonso / Cedric / Friend
    Sanchez / Hazard / Eriksen / Sigurdsson / Lallana
    Ibrahimovic / Defoe

    Pickford / Diamonde / Pieters / McAuley

Phil Jones is going to rise today, I would do Cedric to Jones, rest of the team looks decent apart from Diamonde pick...Anichebe would be a better pick than him

Well this could be a good hit where the next effect might come to 0
Cedric plays Spurs, might get 2 or 1 point.
Jones plays Sunderland might end up with 6 points

So if Jones does end with 6 with a -4 eventually 2
and Cedric with 2...it would kind of a transfer done for free..

But it could go the other way around as well..so there is a risk

All depends on their reason, but if forced, they can easily announce their retirement.
Coming back from retirement is also frequent now, so they can easily get back to the team anytime.

Matip has had issues with the coaching staff some times back and haven't played any Intl game since.
Anyway, he is far from being Cameroonian, he was born in Germany (even if from Cameroonian parents).

So, even after a series of goals and topping the golden boot list, Costa just dropped twice in a week.
I just can't believe it. A one match ban and so many sellers.
Imagine how many will rush getting him back after the boxing day, with the nice fixtures upcoming.

In general 3 up front is usually the way to go but it’s not always going to be the case. Sub 9m fwds the only player who is really showing something is Benteke and he hasn’t been amazing either. For the time being, 442 or 352 are quite clearly viable.
