The Big Numbers – Gameweek 35

Our post-Gameweek members article assessing some of the top performers arrives once again this evening.

With many Fantasy managers now looking to wield Wildcards, we cast an eye over in-form and in-demand attackers and also assess some of the stand-out assets in defence ahead of Friday evening’s deadline.

Benteke to Gabbi worth a -4 this week?

I'd say no. You saw what Negredo did to city.

That first goal from Regreto was such a fluke, second goal just nerves catching up on Citeh defenders.

Play Mawson or Baines? Or take a hit for a double gameweek defender? Price no barrier.

Depends on your other defenders, but I'd probably just play Baines

I would probably get Monreal or play Baines, tough choice. Depends if you have any other Arsenal coverage or not, but would be good.

Tbh don't fancy Arsenal at all for this gameweek despite the doubles. I've got Sanchez in for Arnautovic because he would be highly owned and a lot of people would captain/TC him.

I want to double up on Chelsea defence for the remainder of the season. However, I think it's fairly safe to assume that John Terry will start in GWK38.

Who do we think is the most at risk of losing their place? Does Terry come in as a direct replacement for Cahill/Azpi, does Luiz drop out with Chelsea shifting to a flat back 4, or is it Moses dropping out with Azpi shifting to right wingback?

      I'd say Luiz drops

Alonso. Look at the lesser cup games. He wasn't even on bench. He must he first up considering how many games he played

If the title is secured by that time, absolutely anyone could be dropped and there is no completely logical approach to it. My guess that not obly Terry, but also Ake could get his start in gw38 and that would mess everything up.

Been looking at this also. I think the wing backs are most due a rest because of their work up and down the line. Looking at the appearances of the regular Alonso and Moses have been rested more than anyone else.

      Azpilicueta 39 (2)
      Cahill 38
      David Luiz 33
      Moses 30 (5)
      Alonso 30 (1)

I think it's likely Zouma, Terry and Ake will all see game time from now to end of season.

Cahill and no doubt (assuming the title is won). As captain this season i'd hope he'd volunteer it and even push for it...

Terry to play 70mins and Cahill to be on the pitch at the final whistle.

Thanks all. Judging by the replies it looks like doubling up on Chelsea is an expensive risk that's possibly best avoided. Maybe I just stick with Alonso and cross my fingers!

I'm leaning this way also. They have strong options for rotation so unless they have a nightmare in the next game or two they'll rotate.

    Thoughts on this lot?

    Jaku (Grant)

    Yoshida, Brunt, Baines (Robertson, Friend)

    Sanchez(C), Alli, King, Zaha (Davies)

    Kane, Kun, Benteke

2 FT with £4.2m ITB. No WC, but BB GW 37.

    A) Davies & Kun > Hazard & Jesus

    B) Davies & Kun > Hazard & Costa

    C) Benteke, Kun & Zaha > Jesus, Costa & Hazard (- 4)

    D) Something else

Also need to replace Grant next week with either Pickford or Caballero. With Option C, its most likely going to be Pickford, because I can't do afford any price changes on Caballero. A or B would mean any goalkeeper (Cech, Courtois etc) with no hits, but no Costa.

    Help appreciated.

Probably only Cech is your best bet for an Arse defender, but at 5.3, that price is a bit awkward, especially for a keeper. But you'd think he'd play all of the 5 remaining matches.

Apart from our FPL plans, is Alonso the reason for the Chelsea resurgence this season? They never looked back ever since he got those starts. Don't see any other player apart from him in the Chelsea ranks that would've given Conte the confidence to go 3 at the back. Him & Moses are the real heroes this season but way too underrated.

you are forgetting that this backline is over-protected by N'golo "the shield" Kanté

Wasn't he shielding the backline even during the horrible start of the season? Not taking away any credit from Kante though, love that little beast 🙂

I know many Chelsea fans (I am one myself) share the view that Alonso is our weak link. However, he suits the system well and most of his weaker performances haven't become talking points as we have still managed to win most of those games. I know Conte is looking for a new LWB, and I hope we get one. He is a decent PL player, but his weaknesses will get exposed a lot more in the CL.

My ML rival has Gabriel and Davies enabling him to get Costa. I have Vertonghen and Monreal. Should I downgrade them or stick?

What are people's thoughts on Stones?
If he's back fit this weekend, will he be a starter from now on? He was nailed on during the first half of the season.
