FFS Cup

FFS Cups – Results and Quarter-Final Draws

We take some time this evening to find out who has made it through to the quarter-finals of our two Premier League cup competitions.

Topping the bill among the last eight ties is a Live Hall of Fame top ten derby between Mark, whose rank of 297 makes him the highest-placed remaining manager, and the 423-ranked My Pretty Pony (aka Peter Kouewenberg). While Mark has the rank advantage, Peter’s second placing in the Live Hall of Fame, compared to Mark’s sixth spot, could see him prevail.

Choppers13, who conquered Patio Kev in round five, takes on Team Fosu-Mensah, who is at 3,474 – 2,506 places behind his top 1,000-ranked opponent.

The third quarter-final looks likely to be another close affair, with Sleepysi ranked just 960 behind 1,192-placed Fouad Khan.

Given the current rank of the other six managers through, both 364,588-placed K3lviN and 229,821-ranked The Shaman will be breating a sigh of relief as they face each other in a clash of the competition’s lowest-ranked remaining managers by some distance.

The full quarter-finals draw can be found here.

Choppers13 is the Members cup’s highest ranked-manager – and the only one still in both competitions. He has, on the face of it, a far easier tie in the Members cup, when he takes on 132,642-ranked Barwood.

The giant-killing exploits of 46,996-placed rogerbarton have taken him into the quarter-finals. Fresh from seeing off an 88th-ranked Pukka in round four, Roger defeated 20,109-placed Dr Ennet in the final 16 to set up an encounter with aspern, another higher- ranked manager, who sits in 12,763,

Cheltnamshire lalala, who currently sits at 3,056 and defeated community writer Kryten in the last 16, will square up to 59,241-ranked Malaikat Jahad.

Elsewhere, 13,579-placed Dynamic is the favourite in his quarter-final tie with Thecrystalball, who is the contest’s lowest-ranked manager at 171,998.

The full quarter final round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes, click this link.

You have to hope your budget constraints bring you luck.

.1 short of Monreal so I have Vertonghen and no Arsenal defense.

.... and then you see a team that has all the pretty toys with a huge TV that's 6m more than yours...

      Nope. Just the defensive risks.

Rose and Morgan are in training and Mustafi is almost back too.

You could have Huth Holgate Yoshida and be way more nailed.

Obviously weak defence as you're sacrificing for up top. Defenders usually do well in DGWs. Davies and Gabriel a rotation risk.

    2. ducksfly2gether
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 24 days ago

I like this a lot. But Walcott sucks. And since you have Costa, I don't think you need pedro. I would look to downgrade Walcott to Capoue/Albrighton and use that money to update Pedro to Eriksen. Then you play Sane this with. And you wont have to touch the Alli to Sanchez money either.

          Holgate over Kone for me.
Redmond has 4 (tough) games and can't hit a barn door. King is on fire with great fixtures.
I also don't see gabbi being a great option myself. The same hard games, out of form since injury and hasn't made the hour mark in 2 of 3 games. Also rotation risk.

~40 points ahead of ML rival. Both have TC and BB left. He has Gab/Sanchez/Tadic/Stephens and 1FT this week, not sure what he is going to move.

I'm thinking Walker + Zaha + Lukaku > Monreal, Sanchez and Gabbiadini.

    Thinking to TC Sanchez too

    Courtois (Jaku)
    Daniels Alonso Monreal McAuley (Pieters)
Hazard Sanchez (TC) Son King (Fletcher)
    Kane Gabbidini (Negredo)

Anyone have a sense of the price rise thresholds this week? Jesus is over 100k transfers in but hasn't gone up again -- is it just wild cards?

True, just would have thought he might have already hit it.

Feel pretty lucky with how slow the rises have been this week as we wait for information.

As someone who wildcarded last week and hit most of teh in demand players I want lots of price rises. That would put all the Friday night/ Saturday morning wildcarders at quite a disadvantage. I didn't get Jesus though if he could just hold on until Saturday night that would be great

Good point about the advantage, will be interesting to see if the pace picks up.

As someone who wildcarded four months ago I want slow price movement so I can make each move for a hit carefully.

What are your thoughts on these moves next week?

        A & B above + Alli/Eriksen to Sanchez for -8. Play BB.

I think just A & B may be enough for BB

Evaluate a -8 next week when we have more info

Changes in standings and injuries will sway things

Fair. I just feel like I need Sanchez for 37 with those fixtures. Transfer will be tricky next week.

Actually would be able to afford it after price rise/fall, but plan would still be to get Sanchez

      Probably C.

Who will you bench if B?

      Also, Yoshida over Bailly?

    Hopes for tomorrow.

    - Something that suggests Davies & Gabriel are likely to be nailed on

    That's all, goodnight folks 🙂

If Rose is only running outside I think Davies might be safe for at least this GW.

Would be v surprised if Davies was dropped immediately. It's not like he's been terrible is it, and for Rose to just walk back in as soon as he's fit again...

Gabriel on the other hand....see below!

Anyone else buy Gabriel this week and now wringing their hands?! Wish I'd listened to Guardian Football Weekly before I did my transfers. Journalist on there said that when Gabriel gave away the pen Wenger turned around in the dugout and said 'He does that every time. EVERY TIME'.

Haha, brought him in for Gibson, price was an issue so had to punt on him. I think he'll play both games but after that he's doubtful.

Hey guys, I need to get an Arsenal defender...but who?

    A) Koscielny
    or
    B) Monreal

If funds not an issue I'd prob go Kos, has a goal in him. Monreal good pick too and saves some cash...here am I stuck with Gabriel!

If he doesn't need the 0.3 then Koscielny is the better pick.

Not sure if I agree with Kos' recent injury and the games coming thick and fast. Also Monreal could be playing wingback

You could be right. Monreal will be in my team fwiw but if I could stretch to Koscielny I think I would. Fancy him to get a goal between now and the end of the season. Monreal at wing back seems unlikely to me unless Mustafi is fit and even then Wenger could drop Gabriel before Gibbs.

              Yep, true.
Don't hold out too much hope for the Arsenal defence in general tbh but with the 2xDGW it seems like you need one. Let's hope Monreal does this business 🙂

Did Benteke + Negredo -> Jesus + Anichebe with my 2 FTs to leave me with this:

    De Gea
    Alonso - Vertonghen - Yoshida - Holgate
    Sanchez - Hazard - Alli - King
    Kane - Jesus

    Pickford, Anichebe, Zaha, Bailly

    1.7 ITB

    A) Leave it
    B) Bailly -> Monreal -4 (bench Holgate)

Think there's a good chance Arsenal get a CS in one of the games so should be worth it right? Worst case scenario it will pay off next week.

Do you have Bench Boost to play?

Bailly is back in training. Wait for report from tonight's Europa match.

For -4, I'd sooner Zaha to Pedro/Sane/Walcott to bench Holgate this week.

Otherwise, I wouldn't take the hit this week and wait for more info (matches played) to get the team right for 37.

        Yeah, still have BB.

No chance Bailly plays both games in United's double and even if he does I can't see him outscoring Monreal with those fixtures.

Zaha -> Sane/Pedro is my planned move for 37. Rather get in another DGW36 player than one of them this week.

Anyone with the big Spurs attack (KEA) considering ditching Kane in 37 for Jesus and holding onto the other two. Or is that just crazy talk?

Definitely wouldn't be ditching Kane. I quite like the big Spurs attack. Any other way to get Jesus? Or just settle for Sane?

No, need to get rid of a Spurs unfortunately, have some other deadwood to shift also! I'll prob get rid of Eriksen instead of Kane, thinking of a huge hit next week to set my team for 37 & 38:
Hennessey + Valencia + Eriksen + Gestede to Caballero + Vertonghen + TCarroll + Jesus

I don't see Sane as an option over Jesus, I think Jesus is looking essential to me right now.

      A. not getting Sane myself, much better options in midfield imo even though his fixtures couldnt be better!
