After Spurs breezed past Newcastle at St James’ Park, Manchester United entertain West Ham United in the final match of Gameweek 1.

The Red Devils’ summer signing Romelu Lukaku is heavily backed for this one, having scored in nine of his last 10 appearances against the Hammers in all competitions for Everton.

The most captained player (28%) in the Gameweek, he was also number one contender in our Captain Poll, earning 38% of the votes.

While Harry Kane proved a bitter disappointment with a one-point return against the Magpies, Lukaku’s response will be eagerly anticipated after a host of premium strikers hit the net over the last two days.

With the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Morata, Roberto Firmino and Jamie Vardy all impressing, there’s no shortage of in-form big-hitters for out three-man frontlines right now.

Three goals and as many assists over pre-season suggests that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could stake a claim for midfield consideration, though the Armenian has been mainly overlooked – he’s owned by 7% to team-mate Paul Pogba’s 21%.

For the Hammers, a big display from former United man Javier Hernandez could have an impact on the overall standings –sitting in 21% of squads, he’s the fourth most popular forward in the game.

      World class player, on the back of a strong preseason, essentially the current Yaya (in his prime) of FPL and now with one of the best defensive midfielders playing next to him in Matic.... sure, Pogba is a lazy casual's pick.

    Gah, Mkhitaryan and Pogba are at a really annoying price point at 8.0. Hard to access GW1 without taking a hit or losing a top quality midfielder.

    Guess I'll have to wait for that second FT and hope prices don't change.
