The ScoutCast – Episode 231 – Eavesdrop

This is a very strange experience.

Denied the opportunity to host this week’s ScoutCast by BT’s shortcomings and with the Wildcard active, I am forced to join you and eavesdrop while my decision-making is torn apart by Andy, Jonty, Az and Luke. I have to admit, it’s pretty tortuous.

It’s like my hands are firmly fastened to the couch while the quartet lapdance* their critique around me. How I want to get “involved”.

Aside from appraising my “ill-timed” Wildcard, the boys tackle your other community questions.

They consider the Liverpool double-up, question whether midfield coverage can replace either Kane and Lukaku, debate whether Alonso is essential and then look at how fixtures can shape cheap defensive acquisitions.

I’m pretty sure they answer them all exactly as I would. In fact, listening back, they appear to justify my Wildcard for me. I can hardly wait for next week.

    Play Butland (MUN) or Courtois (lei)? For a Draft league.

    Feels like if both are going to leak then at least Butland may get a few save points

      Can't see either keeping a cleansheet. Chelsea the more likely, that being said Butland will probably save 2 penalties and FPL will make an error giving him 4 bonus points.

          Not really, Man U at home vs Leicester away are equal fixtures. Plus MUN have CL games whereas LEI dont. Can see MUN struggling to win this one.

    RP as it was bottomed I need a bit of surgery on my team but I'm resisting using my WC this early into the season this is how it looks:

      I would personally look at getting out Aguero and/or KDB first. That would free up a lot of funds to improve your side.

        Yeak I know i was always planning on getting rid of both KDB & Aguero after this GW for Hazard and Morata in GW 5, have a feeling one or the other might score this more likely Sergio the KDB cheers for the advice.

          I had Aguero in my team last week, but seeing him sat on the bench, I switched to Firmino.
          A 12.5m player who's not a sure starter is VERY BAD for the team

              Sterling is suspended can't seem him going two up top against us on Saturday, Right ok will ship out Aguero for Lukaku this GW just have the enough ITB to do it will bring Hazard & Morata in next GW.

        Ramsey could be the man.

        I have thought that I could swap kdB to Silva and Bavies to Alonso. Bavies has good fixtures coming in short term and he could outscore Alonso in next 3-4 fixtures, which I doubt, but maybe no need to use 1 FT for that.

        ARS has good fixtures so maybe Ramsey. Only problem is that Wenger is so unpredictable atm it might be that Ramsey is on the bench? Difficult. I just need to decide and do something.

        Don't want to bring Brady in as I have Mee. Also others who are not 100% nailed in long term (TAA, Yoshida, Bavies, even Jones.)

        BUR has liv and eve away on GW 5 & 7. Then in GW 5 & 7 I would like to bench both and still I have at least some of those uncertain starters

        Bringing Hazard in would be option too. KdB -> Hazard Willian -> Richarlison

      Probably not, he's been awful.
      No one's talking about Ramsey - don't know why. If you are desperate for cheap Arsenal coverage I'd say he's your best option.
