Dugout Discussion – Swansea vs Newcastle

After Burnley’s Chris Wood condemned Crystal Palace to a fourth successive loss, we turn to the Liberty Stadium in Sunday’s second, and final, fixture at 4pm.

Having grabbed their first win of the season in the previous round of fixtures, Swansea now have the chance to play their way into our plans ahead of an outstanding upcoming home schedule.

From Gameweek 6 onwards, Paul Clement’s side entertain Watford, Huddersfield, Leicester, Brighton, Bournemouth and West Brom in their subsequent six matches at the Liberty.

With that in mind, Tammy Abraham- at just 5.5 – has the chance to emerge as a valid option for our three-man frontlines.

After opening his account for the season at Selhurst Park, the on-loan striker grabbed a goal and assist for England U21s over the recent international break. He’s partnered by Jordan Ayew, with Wilfried Bony on the hosts’ bench.

The Swans’ new arrival Renato Sanches is fast-tracked into the starting XI after joining on loan from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day. Over 116,000 Fantasy Premier League managers acquired the Portuguese international ahead of Gameweek 4.

Similar to their hosts, Newcastle are also braced for a strong run of matches in front of their own fans – five of their next six home matches sees Stoke, Palace, Bournemouth, Watford and Leicester visit St James’ Park.

New boy Joselu leads the line again after scoring on his first start in the 3-0 win over West Ham last time around.

At 5.5, he could rival Abraham in the budget bracket up front, though Christian Atsu’s prospects in midfield are dealt a blow as he drops to the visitors’ bench.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Do Bertrand to Bavies tonight? Already have Stephens and not convinced by Saints defence. Questions are should I wait for CL games to be played, and should I transfer out Stephens instead? Have 0,4 mill ITB

I did it. Not convinced by Saints defense and Spurs have a beautiful run coming out. No-brainer imo.

I agree. Spurs look so good and their wingbacks supplied all the assists against Everton, who are a good side. I think they have tons of points potential, with CS thrown in the mix.

Saints are on the other side, very unconvincing.

For those that still have their wildcard intact when do you think might be the best time to use it?

Over the October international break maybe a team revamp coming into December or just wait until injury's and suspensions force your hand?

Is there any fixture swing game week you have your eye on?

Gwk 6 and 8 have good fixt swings - plus second int break is historically the most lucrative.

Lei, che and Everton all good options around then.

Only Swans managed fewer shota on target so far. I know that Everton's starting fixtures are beyond terrible, but its still too few for a team battling top6. We needed a striker at the end of starnsfer window and now attack doesnt look good.

Keane on the other hand looked solid until yesterday. Spurs game was tragic defencively, but I will definately consider Keane when fixtures turn in our favour.

Hi all. Sorry for repost, got bottomed a few pages ago. Wondering what to do for next week.

    Foster (Elliot)
    Bailly, Dunk, Daniels, Yoshida* (4.0)
Eriksen, Mhki, Mane*, Ritchie, (T Carroll)
    Morata, Lukaku (Calvert-Lewin)

    3m itb.

Had planned on getting Kane in for GW5. Would still like to do that but need to sort out Mane. Yoshi also problematic. What looks best?

    A) Mane to Alli
    B) Mane to Salah
    C) Mane to 4.5mid and Calvert Lewin to Kane (-4)
    D) Mane to Alli/Salah and Yoshida to Cedric/5.0
    E) Other

    (Hoping to WC around GW6/7)

    3. banskt
      • 10 Years

My guess for Newcastle defense in the long term:
Dummett --- Clark --- Lejeune --- Manquillo (away) / Yedlin (home)

Yes, Lascelles will probably get dropped (I know he is the captain, still). Since Dummett is out for 2 months, Manquillo might play on the right whereas Yedlin would rotate with Mbemba for the left back. I don't think Yedlin will play in away games. If you are looking at rotations, you can get Yedlin because he is good in going forward and will probably play the home games. But, Yedlin is not considered defensively consistent and will probably be benched going in difficult games. Mbemba will be in the mix of rotations till Dummett is back. Gamez only played because both Dummett and Mbemba were unavailable. Lascelles will come in from time to time when either Clark / Lejeune needs a day off.

How did Brady look today? Was disappointed to find out he couldn't get something after Palace had so much trouble against set pieces in the previous few games

That's unfortunate. Didn't watch the game, but maybe it was a bad thing that Burnley scored so early. I would imagine they immediately played more defensively after that

They did, no way palace have that many chances otherwise.

Thoughts on David Silva? Is he worth at this price? Is he at risk of rotation now that CL comes into play?
Is de Bruyne eating up his points if Pep plays doesn't play him deep?

I do think he is a rotation risk, Gundogan to come back in also. I'd avoid.

so if mbemba does not nstart or bench might as well do a -4 for bdavies or dunk or mee no?

        was thinking -4 mane + rangel -> dsilva + bdavies or 4,5

Wondering why so many people suggesting others to get Ben Davies. I thought his position was under threat from Rose, and Davies will soon return to the bench. Am I missing something here?

You aren't. It's a bandwagon. Hard to drop him on curren form but easy to rest him with rose in the wings.
