Fantasy Eliteserien – Gameweek 22 Preview

This week it’s time for the first of two double gameweeks. It’s not the most exciting one, but it’s still a double Gameweek nevertheless. In this article I’ll take a quick stock check and then look at the double gameweek prospects.

STOCK CHECK

Rising

Aleksander Melgalvis (Lillestrøm, defender, 4.5)

He’s back after an injury that everyone (including himself) thought would keep him out for the season. After an amazing free kick goal in the cup, he continued his scoring against Haugesund and racked up 10 points without a clean sheet. Still playing as a right midfielder.

Fredrik Haugen (Brann, midfielder, 10.4)

Finally the Brann midfielder has started scoring points again – 26 points over the last four. He has two away games coming up, but they are not the toughest and they are also followed by a great home tie against Kristiansund.

Krepin Diatta (Sarpsborg, midfielder, 5.9)

The young Sarpsborg player is on fire at the moment. Playing up front with Mortensen, he scored 11 points this Game week -and34 points over the last four. He could easily have had more.

Deyver Vega (Brann, midfielder, 6.5)

Another Brann midfielder finding form. After a tough start to the season he’s established himself as a good winger lately. He’s now scored in two consecutive games.

Ohi Omoijuanfo (Stabæk, forward, 7.9)

He can’t stop scoring, finding the next in all but one of his last seven games (he missed a penalty in the game he blanked). He has strong bonus potential and great underlying stats, but it is worth noting he will miss next Gameweek after picking up his third yellow card.

Nicklas Bendtner (Rosenborg, forward, 12.3)

Bendtner is finally looking like the player we expected him to be. He’s scoring goals as he did at the start of the season, but now he actually looks like a good player too. Six goals and one assist in the last seven, as well as nine bonus points.

Falling

Amin Nouri (Brann, defender, 5.8)

He’s definitely out in the cold. Not likely to get starts for Brann unless there are injuries. Sell.

Christoffer Remmer (Molde, defender, 5.5)

After a good period, he has now scored six points from the last four games. He has decent fixtures coming up, so might be worth keeping.

Milan Jevtovic (Rosenborg, midfielder, 7.8)

He failed to play 60 minutes for the third game in a row. After starting against Strømsgodset, he was subbed at half time after a poor first half from Rosenborg. He is not in the starting XI for Rosenborg’s Europa League game against Real Sociedad, so could get another start this weekend. Long term it’s probably best to sell him.

Anders Trondsen (Rosenborg, midfielder, 7.1)

After to consecutive starts, he was benched this Gameweek against Strømsgodset. Fantasy wise he didn’t benefit from his move to Rosenborg.

Tonny Brochmann (Stabæk, midfielder, 6.9)

He’s still one of the top scoring midfielders in the game, but he’s not been doing anything lately. Eight blanks in the last nine indicates it’s time to move on.

Bjørn Bergmann Sigurdarsson (Molde, forward, 10.3)

A few weeks ago he was very reliable and scoring almost every week, now he’s almost the opposite. He’s only scored one goal in the last five and have been deployed out wide a couple of times. Molde aren’t looking good at the moment. Fixtures are getting better though.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK

As mentioned this will be the first double Gameweek this season. Tromsø have two home games against Sarpsborg and Odd, while Odd play Aalesund at home and Tromsø away.

Tromsø have been looking better lately, but were demolished by relegation rivals Kristiansund last weekend. Sarpsborg were on fire against Vålerenga, while Odd have been the worst attacking team so far this season.

Hans Norbye and Lasse Nilsen looks like decent picks at 4.0. Both are playing as wing backs in the new system under the new manager. Gudmund Kongshavn (4.3) offers decent value in goal, but new signing Nauzet Perez will be looking to displace him as soon as he makes a mistake.

In midfield both Gjermund Åsen (5.7) and Morten Gamst Pedersen (5.1) could offer some value. Åsen have scored three goals and assist four, while Pedersen have picked up five assist. Pedersen have scored five points in each of the last three games. Aron Sigurdarson (6.3) would have been a great pick, but he’s been on the bench lately. After last weeks horror show he could get a start, but it’s a risk.

Thomas Lehne Olsen (6.2) offers good value as a forward, but he’s playing out wide. He’s got the highest points per match of all Tromsø players though and have good underlying stats. Mushaga Bakenga (9.9) is massively overpriced and offers no value compared to the other ones. Mikael Ingebrigtsen (5.7) have had a few good cameos of the bench lately, so might get some minutes.

The problem is that there are only room for three out of Åsen, Sigurdarson, Lehne Olsen, Ingebrigtsen and Bakenga in the new system, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some rotation over the double Gameweek. It’s hard to say who’s nailed on though.

Odd are probably the worst attacking team in Eliteserien this year. They created so few chances and they have a horrible low percentage of shots on target. If they didn’t keep as many clean sheets as they have done this season they would probably be fighting for relegation. Most people will probably be looking at their defence, with two fixtures where they could easily get a CS.

Sondre Rossbach (5.4) should be pretty nailed in goal. Espen Ruud (6.3) have little competition, while Thomas Grøgaard (6.0) could be rotated over the DGW. Steffen Hagen (5.8) and Fredrik Semb Berge (5.7) are the first choice centre backs, but Vegard Bergan (4.9) have played loads of games this season because of injuries and done well. He could easily start one of the games this double gameweek.

Ruud and Rossbach are probably the best picks, although Ruud looks like a shadow of himself this year. Still have some attacking potential from set pieces.

As mentioned their attack has been dreadful this year. New signing Elba Rashani (7.7) might be the best attacking pick, but it’s hard to justify his price tag. Etzaz Hussain (5.5) might be a cheap alternative, although he’s not got as much attacking potential. Playing as a centre midfielder, he has some set pieces duty and scored a goal in his debut. He had a good chance against Molde last week too.

Jone Samuelsen (7.7) scored a penalty last week, but Fredrik Nordkvelle (8.5) got a sub apperance after an injury spell last week and will probably be on penalties when he’s on the pitch. Riku Riski (6.9) is suspended for the first match. Oliver Occean (9.6) looks like a shadow of himself and have not been close to justifying his price tag this year.

Double gameweek players that are one yellow away from suspension: Våge Nilsen, Rashani, Samuelsen, Occean (Odd), Gundersen, Gamst Pedersen, Lehne Olsen (Tromsø)

SUSPENSIONS

Tortol Lumanza Lembi, Ohi Omoijuanfo (Stabæk), Håvard Storbæk (Sandefjord), Julian Ryerson, Sime Gregov (Viking) and Riku Riski (Odd)

DIFFERENTIALS

Thomas Lehne Olsen (Tromsø, forward, 6.2)

Two home fixtures, highest points per match for Tromsø this year and good underlying stats. Only 4% ownership.

Hans Norbye (Tromsø, defender, 4.0)

As a wingback he offers great value for the double gameweek and at that price he’s easily benchable for the rest of the season. 3.1% ownership.

Elba Rashani (Odd, midfielder, 7.7)

Not been lighting up Odd after his move from Rosenborg, but probably the best pick from a dreadful Odd attack. Only 0.9% ownership.

Who are peoples captains for the weekend?

Having done Moe to Norbye as my only transfer, I only have Ruud, Åsen and Norby as my DGW players. Hard to justify a -4 for any additional players.

Looking at Ruud captain, or possibly a SGW player like Sigurdarson against Viking.

Adegbenro who is at home to Valerenga is one choice for me.. Hopefully he will play and not rotated after this weeks loss to Real Sociedad. Not keen on DGW players for captain and I like BBS away at Viking.
Asen is sort of tempting so I may toss a coin. 🙂
I am hoping the DGW's and a bit of luck get me into the top 10k. I am not looking for a high rank this season as it has been a real learning curve finding out about the teams and players. I was hoping to get to see a game but it looks like we will run out of time this trip. Hopefully we will next be back in Europe in 5 years time.

I'm coming off a great high with my Grossmüller captaincy haul and top50 GW rank, so I'm doing the stupid thing and chasing outliers...... I'm puting up the K on Rashani, Odd are so self aware of their shit forward stats now that it's at a make or break point, and their coach is the type to whip the team in line. I think they'll come out in a surprise run now....

More info on Ruud here. Apparently it's not a new injury. He wasn't in full training ahead of Molde - Odd either. The problem is it's not been getting any better this week. He'll wait and find out if he can play during the weekend. Odd play on Monday. I guess I'll just play him, but I won't captain him now.

Struggling to find 6 future options for DGW25 that will trump a SGWer.

Worth picking Kwarasey (over Bratveit) + defender + midfield punt & doubling-up on Haugesund defenders + Abdi?

Potential upside is an extra dgwer and 2x home games.

Potential downside is a worse CS record and playing vs BRA GW23, rather than Bratveit's VIK game. Plus major fact neither team has ideal CS fixtures to begin with.

6dgw-ers seem a bit over the top. Wouldn't have double Haugesund defs, but Abdi seems worth a shot. A bit uncertain on Kwarasey, Vålerenga seem so lost at sea. But, he's a good keeper, and up for save (and potentially bonus) points if their defence continue to struggle

                  6 years, 9 months ago

Cheers. I'll have double Haugesund defence either way (def + gk/def). Planning ahead as think their fixtures are among the best for final few games, rotating out for GW26 and maybe 27.

But Valerenga definitely a problem. Defence form + lack of offensive options is a shame as fixtures not bad in principle. Will probably play it by ear as GW26 approaches. Need to look at save points/bps actually.

Nice. Haugesund have been tight at the back, so if they can keep it together it should be all good. Considering kwarasey for their dgw myself.

Knudtzon might be injured for this GW and face Rosenborg the week after. Andersen has quite good fixtures, and Stabæk concede a lot from set pieces. I think I prefer the latter.

The big paradox of the whole thing, DGW's come to be ONLY because of games in Europe, and teams playing there are presumably top teams (since they qualified through last season posision), yet both DGW's fixtures are like sooooo boring..... I'd have loved some Brann and Rosenborg DGW's, that could light some fire into the Fantasy-leagues....

So, it seems Lehne Olsen broke his pinky toe, but he might tape and drug the $hit out of it to play anyhow. Feels stupid to bring him in on a WC, Bakenga worth a punt?

Rossbach - McDermott (-> kwarasey dgw)
                  Melgalvis - Stølas - Norbye - Hedenstad - O.Solberg
                  Diatta - Kassi - Andersen - Haugen - Adegbenro
                  Bakenga (-> ohi gw23) - Mortensen - Bendtner

                  0itb

Unless there's news I'll pass on Ruud/L.Olsen. Currently thinking Bakenga punt but maybe Pedersen + (still risky) Asen.

My squad's fairly similar, but with VIF/TIL/ODD/BBS where you have Solberg/Kassi/Haugen/Mortensen.
Haven't decided between Melgalvis & Hedenstad, but one will go for Odd defender.

Team doesn't have the worst fixtures this gw. But if you fancy RBK and/or DGW options then probably would.

How much will that broken toe limit his abilities if taped and drugged? I am on a WC and did consider Lehne in and captain him. But this messes the plans up a bit. Any other captaincy options on Tromsø? I kind of looks like Aron Sigurdarsson is on his way back, but I guess it would be a wild punt to bring him in an captain him? Åsen and Bakenga could of course be considered, but...hmmm

Article I read (can't find it atm) said he was keen to play if possible. Scan highlighted 2 fractures so he'd already been unknowingly playing with one.

Problem is even so, how likely is he to play both games.

Hmm....yes. I read that he is going to be tested in training today. It would be gold if there actually is anyone in here that follows the Tromsø training :-). If there is a chance he is going to see limited playing time over those 2 GW's I guess it's not worth the risk bringing him in, or at least not captaining him...

From the article it says it's up to himself and his ability to play through the pain or not.... One thing is playing another is if he is going to be able to play good enough to deserve the captaincy or if he is going to be seriously limited

Any news on Ruud? My only non suspended bench player is Moe but he is out of favour..
if it looks like Ruud won't be playing, I might take a hit and go moe to norbye.
I have not taken a hit since gw 2. I don't feel confident taking a hit in this game, even for a dgw player!

Hedenstad - with europe is he still nailed for league games?

Hussain - worth the risk over Rashani who's on two yellows?

What's going on with Udoji and Kassi? Thinking of doing them out and Åsen + Pedersen in.

I started a league: "End of Days", scoring starts at GW24. Entry code is 70199-16298 and the autojoin thingy is:

Lehne Olsen in the squad for tomorrow at least. Could be rotated and rested in one of the game though if he's in pain?

Who's your best captain pick this GW, Niemi? All things considered, uncertainties with Lehne Olsen and all. I was tempted to captain Lehne, but not sure anymore.

I have no idea. Ruud and Lehne Olsen were the best ones from the DGW I think. I was planning on captaining Ruud, but I'm not taking the chance now. Don't own Lehne Olsen, but tempted to captain Åsen now. Could also captain Rashani, Rossbach or even Norbye. Or just play it safe with Bendtner or Melgalvis.

Åsen has had biggest number of shots for a Tromsö player in last three GW:s when he has been stationed as a forward. I think I'll buy and captain him.

Yeah :). It's a pretty rotten DGW :). I'm on the WC this round. So I can get in everyone I want and then some. Have good team value. But it's a tough one. Not really any of the Tromsø players that are tempting to keep a hold on after this DGW. Norbye is cheap and can always occupy that 5th defender spot. I was tepmtet to bring in Lehne for this GW and then get rid of him again. Unsure now. Do you have any information on Aron Sigurdarsson these days? He's probably the best players among all of them. But there has been stuff about him wanting away and also a small injury I think. But he played the last 45 mins the last game.

Aron Sigurdarson is just benched these days. Tromsø had a decent spell when he was out with an injury. Haven't been able to get a place in the starting XI afterwards.

                                Expected Tromsø team

                                Gudmund Taksdal Kongshavn
Magnar Ødegaard, Simen Wangberg, Ulrik Yttergård Jenssen
Hans Norbye, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Christian Landu-Landu, Lasse Nilsen
Thomas Lehne Olsen, Mushaga Bakenga, Gjermund Åsen

They will make a decision on Lehne Olsen tomorrow. It's down to how much pain he feels. Seems more likely to start than not at this point, but might not play both. Ingebrigtsen or Sigurdarson will come in if he's out.

Davies should be safe. Poch is just toying with son because he can't find place upfront for him

I'm sure he's safe, just that the same thing happened last season with Davies:
GW4, Monaco, benched GW5 (no Rose), EFL - Gillingham, GW6, CKSA Moscow

Tripper, Davies & Eriksen played in EFL so there was rotation risk in this game with manager's tactics history.

I also got screwed by doing the same moves with the same Southampton trio. The Pogba injury took my second FT, that I was planning to use this GW to fund an upgrade over Gabbi. At least Silva was worth the FT.

Stabæk dominating though. Njie missed an open net from three meters.
