Merry Christmas from Fantasy Football Scout

Christmas is all about family. About sharing. About goodwill to all men.

I do a bit of that, though my day also involves points hits, rotation concerns and whether Harry is going to blank at Wembley.

I don’t wish this on you but, deep down, I know it’s too late. You’re just as lost in this as I am.

So that only leaves me to thank you for reading this and, of course, on this special day, for all your support for what we do here at Fantasy Football Scout.

Having this link to thousands of like-minded folk, similarly happy to burn hours contemplating budget strikers, is a comfort and a massive gift in itself. So thank you.

While I urge you to rejoin your friends and family, or at least find a channel showing Die Hard or Escape to Victory, I should also remind you that our Scout Picks and Captain Sensible articles will be with you later today.

Eat well, drink relatively sensibly and enjoy the day.

    Moussa Dembele feels like a trap. Been plying his trade in poor leagues - won't find it as easy in the PL.

      Austin to Crouch sucks and for -8. At least Depoitre has form and fixtures. You're going to have to shop around for cheaper defenders rather than buying 2 at a premium. That's an ugly -8

    Any fellow Fabianski and Elliott owners?

    This gw is an exact replica of gw24 meaning they'll play Liverpool and Man City those weeks

    Adrian will have Bournemouth twice, plus the dgw soon.

    Lets assume in all games, each just gets a basic 2 points. Taking a -4 to get Adrian would in real terms be a -2

    It has to be worth a -2 right? Given it'll give an extra fixture to make saves, potentially get a CS etc, plus it'll mean Adrian vs Bournemouth twice instead of Fab/Elliott vs City/Pool twice

      I have both and keeping for now as I used my FT. Fabs or Elliot could sneak into 4-5 points with saves (e.g. Chelsea game for Fabs), while Adrian concede a goal for 2 points. Won't do it for a hit imo.

        Surely no where near this price. He’s going to be average at best. He’s essentially like a player being bought from the championship.

        He should be no more than 7m and that includes and inflation due to his popularity.

        More than Firmino and Vardy would be crazy. And not much less than Morata and Jesus would be laughable.

              15 goals in 19 matches. Do we expect him to be priced above 7.0? No. And if he does, you pay for his name, and not his worth in FPL.

        There's a "top-team tax".

        You don't get the main players of top six teams for less than 8m.

        In the same way, there's a ceiling on non top-six team assets...they rarely reach much beyond 8m.

        Lukaku last season and Vardy/Mahrez after winning the title are the only players from non-top-six sides I can remember breaking these rules in recent seasons

          You think? Klopp loves Moreno though, think he prides himself in making him a better defender despite all the critics. Zanka just provides steady nailed cover relatively cheaply for a near 60 pointer.

            Just a hunch. With both have home fixtures for the next two, leaning toward Robertson now as he plays for a better team rather than Zanka. Might shift him to someone else after that. Probably Zanka if form permits. Could be Kenny/Martina though.

    Half way through the season. Some have impressed (DDG, City, Salah for example), and some have been very disappointing (Sanchez/Arsenal, Alli, and Spurs against parked buses at Wembley to mention a few).

    Who’ll improve- or impress in the second half of the season and which players/teams will start- or continue to disappoint us (and their fans)?
