The ScoutCast – Episode 249 – Puppetmaster

Granville is the latest of the ScoutCast crew to be struck down by man-flu, and while Az manfully continued last time out, like myself the week before, my old rival is forced to sit out.

But he makes sure he has his say, priming Jonty beforehand to push my buttons on the “honeytrap” that was Jordan Pickford. Jonty plays a blinder on his behalf as Granville pulls the evil strings from his sickbed.

Elsewhere in this latest episode, your community questions steer us to assess whether we should call time on Marcos Alonso to consider cut-price alternatives. We appraise the Arsenal renaissance, get Az all riled up on “JLingz”, while Jonty has his say on “whipping boys”. That, of course, are those teams that are easy to beat and guarantee big returns.

I still believe that this topic was just another excuse to have a go at Pickford, with Granville sniggering over his Lemsip (other cold remedies and goalkeepers are available).

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Captaincy Salah vs Kane vs Aguero (vs Sterling): I took a quick look at each players home/away form from last 10 home/away matches (only the games the player took a part in). I also accounted goals scored and conceded team-by-team. Here are the numbers:

Kane (last 10 at home): 72 points, 5 blanks, 4 double figure hauls
Aguero (home): 76 points, 3 blanks, 3 double figure hauls
Salah (away): 77 points, 2 blanks, 3 double figure hauls
Sterling (home): 93 points, 1 blank, 5 double figure hauls

    goals conceded:

LEI (away): 13 (clean sheet vs Chelsea, 2 conceded vs Liverpool)
ARS (away): 16 (3-1 loss vs Man City)
SOU (home): 14 (fairly resilient vs Spurs and Arsenal, both 1-1)

    goals scored:

    MCI (home): 34
    TOT (home): 26
    LIV (away): 25

Conclusion: It seems that Sterling is seriously overlooked as a captaincy candidate. Also Salah and Aguero are quite even. Kane is the riskiest bet but potentially more explosive than Salah and Aguero.

On these parameters Hazard's numbers are really bad: only 39 points last 10 home matches.

Ouch. I'm hoping Conte got his shit together and run riot this weekend. I feel Hazard(C) can be gold this weekend. Cheers

It could be, but it's very unlikely. I'd look at someone else for captaincy, there are so many great options.

Leicester has tightened up recently while City looks jaded. Apparently Kane’s got strong motivation to score against Arsenal for dumping him when he was young. Going to captain Salah. More consistent.

If one of all of those players were rested, i would be least surprised if it was Sterling ... which is why I can’t consider him as a Captain

That's correct, could've added him as well as Sterling. He's points tally from last 10 at home is 87 points with only 1 blank. Certainly a consistent choice.

Yeah. Southampton very tempting, but with Marhez out, there's still unrest at Leicester - even though they are tighter I feel they could get smashed — so Aguero is hard to overlook. Those stats are skewed by presence of Jesus IMO - Aguero a much better prospect as No.1 nailed striker.

+ KDB and Sterling makes for a great home fixture. Expecting 30-40 points from those 3 with one (c)

What game are you playing? Deulofeu is listed as a forward in mine. I think you can afford to get rid of Zaha and pick him up later by monitoring his recovery.

      A - and it’s not even close.

West Ham can’t keep cleansheets. Watford likely to be playing with confidence after their win against Chelsea. Burnley aren’t exactly a goal scoring machine and out of the ‘weaker’ teams Swansea are decent at the back.

Morning. I think its down to the players and not the manager! So long as he gets the best team out there for the next 10 games I reckon they will sort it out enough on the pitch to avoid relegation.

I'm hoping they frustrate the Hell out of Pool. C'mon!

      Nope.

Son's game time is going to be limited. Don't think Ali will lose his spot. Eriksen won't. So when they play Moura Son is obvious target.

ah i see.. thought they will play

        Kane
        Son Alli Moura
        Eriksen Dier

I don't think they'll play Eriksen that deep. Dembele or Wanyama.

So Watford are playing football again instead of eye gauging and ball crushing with a new Helmsman.

Is now the time to get Charlie Charlson back or go with the Baaa Bleets and get that Barca reject?

Yer, can't say I blame you with his early subs but he has had chances still and the dynamic with Sanchez has not settled yet.

How does the team look? Anything worth a hit? Lingard -> Shaqiri (-4)?

    Courtois
    Alonso Jones Duffy
    Salah Sterling Walcott Lingard
    Kane Aguero(c) J.Ajew

    Elliot; Kenny, Masuaku, Loftus-Cheek

Lindgard not benched yet. If you should do anything, i would Improve the bench in case of rotation. None of your bench players are currently playing

Defender first, you only have 3 starters and one is rubbish, look at Lowton or Bauer etc

Sterling - Salah (vc) - son - shaqiri
    Wilson - Kane (C) - Firmino

    Adrian - mee, masuaku, rlc

    1ft.
    Masuaku to Bauer or save?

    What to do:

    A) Stones to VVD
(Stones not starting for sure, Leicester might score)
    B) Ogbonna to VVD
(Ogbonna is close to price fall which means i will lose 0.1, bought him for 0.2 less but small chance West Ham - Utd will go ahead on BGW31)
    C) Save FT

I have to play 3(minimum), which is Alonso, Jones and one from Holgate,Stones and Ogbonna.

Holgate might not play, Stones might not play and Ogbonna might have price fall.
