The ScoutCast – Episode 255 – Wilder

Wildcards are very much active among the ScoutCast crew, and while only three of us make this latest episode, all five are in play ahead of the Double Gameweeks.

Not surprisingly, our rebuilding programme dominates the discussion as Jonty and Andy join me to reveal our current squads and our chosen strategy leading into the remaining seven Gameweeks.

In an exhaustive and in-depth episode, the three of us also look back on the success of the Free Hit in Gameweek 31. Then we attempt to offer a balanced view on the variety of chip tactics from this point on, with a team-by-team analysis of the player targets to consider.

We fail miserably of course, with our own bias no doubt shining through, though the conclusion is an uplifting one: whatever your chosen route with the chips to Gameweek 38, we will all win out in the end.

Unless you don’t have your Wildcard and Free Hit, in which case you’re now consigned to spending the next two months behind the sofa and hate us all anyway.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Evening all!

Anybody considering a bit of striker Hokey Cokey over the next few weeks? This is what I'm thinking:

    Gw32: Lukaku and Aubameyang
    GW33: Vardy and Aubameyang
    Gw34: Vardy and Lukaku

That's 2 transfers between now and Gw34 but you may need a little in the bank now to allow for price changes. This does get the "better" forwards for the next 3 game weeks though. A possible Kane return for Gw34 is obviously something else to consider. Thoughts?

      Got bigger concerns.
Vardy - Firmino - Aubemeyang not leaving my team before WC in 36 (Maybe Vardy in GW35)

Just forces you to pick DGW defenders now as less FTs available. But it's a decent plan

That’s exactly my plan. Kane complicates it a bit although the Auba->Kaku transfer for gw34 could be Auba->Kane if you downgrade someone else for a hit... but honestly w those fixtures in dgw I will prob leave it until gw36

    Please RMT.
I’m planning on using my Bench Boost in GW34 and Free Hit in GW35.
I’ve got 2.3 ITB so I’m planning to get either Lukaku or Kane for Aubameyang for GW34

    de Gea, Ryan
    Smalling, Mariappa, Lowton, Morgan, Alonso
    Groß, Mahrez, Willian, Salah, Mkhitaryan
    Aubameyang, Barnes, Vardy

Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.

Saving my WC for GW36. He is stuck in my team, and no matter how I look at it a swap is -4. Can swap him for Valencia, but not sure if it's worth it tbh.

Lots of talk about wc'ing gw33, but what about wc'ing gw34 and free hit in gw35 and saving BB for gw37? Should make gw34 and gw35 a bit easier to navigate I think. Need to have a plan for Kane in obviously

In setting up for 35 now with my FTs.

      FH in 34, WC 36, BB 37.

Starting to doubt my tactic tonight though, hope I don't tumble down the rankings with all these active wildcards and then fail to make back the ground

That has been my current plan , but team in GW35 then looks very vulnerable and will probably have to take a couple of hits

Might work well for people who have already used TC if their post GW31 is decent for the next 2 weeks. Most peoples teams wont be great after the blank GW31 thou and most people with TC left will want to use it on a DGW

Quite right. Think I can manage gw32&33, already gotten Mahrez and Auba in for a hit

Think so many people are doing the same thing at the moment so going different like this could pay off well if it works. Worth a try depending on rank etc

WC debate (All chips left) - Which do you like best guys: A and B leaves Lukaku (Aub out for him) for the double along with Gross/Kennedy. C leaves Eriksen and Barnes instead.

    A) Smalling, Lowton, Gross, Sterling (to Son in 33), Barnes.
    B) Alonso, Lowton, Willian, Kennedy, Murray
    C) Smalling, Alonso, Willian Kennedy, Murray (No Lukaku for double)

    Rest of the team:
    De Gea, Ryan,
    Tarkowski, Fernandez, Morgan, ___, ____
    Salah, Hazard, Mahrez, ____, _____,
    Aubameyang, Vardy, ______

Wonder if Ville is WCing this week. With 3 City, 3 Liverpool, Mahrez, Lossl and Dawson it feels a bit early this GW. Use the FT wisely and can put out a good team and WC next week.

Hello guys. Im on my WC now. I have FH but no BB.

    De Gea-Ryan
    Alonso-Bailly-Monreal-Morgan-Lowton
    Salah-Mahrez-Mkhi-Willian-Gross
    Auba-Vardy-Campell

    2.1 in the bank.
I think Mkhi and Auba out for Son and Lukaku before gw 34. Or should I do it now?

Not pleasant seeing the MCI line up when you don't have any of their players and it can hurt you badly. Still don't have any in my wildcard right now. If they do well over the next two weeks , having a player or two could push you right up the ranks. Could easily happen
