Suspended Sanchez most-owned asset for Poland v Colombia

The most popular World Cup Fantasy asset in Poland v Colombia won’t actually feature in the match.

That’s because Carlos Sanchez (£4.5m), owned by 14.5 percent of managers, will miss Gameround 2 due to suspension.

The Colombian midfielder was sent off for a hand-ball against Japan, conceding a penalty in the process.

2014’s break-out star James Rodriguez (£9.0m) still has 11.5 percent backing despite missing out on a starting place in Gameround 1 due to injury.

For Poland, their go-to man is Robert Lewandowksi (£9.5m), with 7.2 percent ownership.

Apart from Wojciech Szczesny (£5.0m), no other player in Poland’s ranks has more than 3.1 percent ownership.

    Been out all day.

    Not a betting man, but if I was I’d have stuck my mortgage on a Kane hattrick today. Panama would struggle to get out of League One.

    Quite why the hell FIFA want to put 48 teams in the Qatar World Cup is truly beyond me. But then, why would you want to play it in Qatar anyway? (We know the answer to that one).

    Not an England fan but pleased for them, Kane seems like a genuinely nice, down to earth guy and no real Prima Donnas in this team like previous incarnations.

                        It annoys me to see bad teams in what’s supposed to be a festival of football between the best teams on the planet.

                        This isn’t Panama or Saudi Arabia’s fault, it’s FIFA’s and we know how rotten and corrupt they’ve been.

                        My analogy was to highlight the huge gulf in class between teams like Panama and Saudi and the fact that you wouldn’t put teams on their level in the Champions League so why put them in the best football tournament in the world?

                        Mmm I'm not sure where I stand on that. After suffering with my team not making it I now understand the pain of not having your team in it. Something I've never had until this year. On the other hand I don't really want to see teams like Panama or Saudi in it either. All they do if give the teams who draw them a huge advantage. I would like to see this seeding thing scrapped if anything. That would give the lesser teams ( pot D teams) a bigger chance of having a tournament to remember

                    Just because you want to see your country in a World Cup doesn't mean the places should be increased. I'd love to see Ireland in a World Cup but I can still understand that increased teams in the tournament will dilute the quality

              Even Honduras finished ahead of USA but got knocked out by Australia.
              They lost twice to Costa Rica, lost their decider with Trinidad and Tobago 2-1, drew with Panama and Honduras away. Only form was at home.

    Some thoughts......
    I guess its better to choose the best 3 strikers irrespective of their prices due to the following reasons:
    1) Only the strikers have been seen to be scoring more than 10 points
    2) Due to multiple captaincy options, in most cases u would not miss the best performing forward points (as captain).
    3) Mid and defender points have been very unpredictable. No midfielder has scored more than 10 points as yet. so better to choose 2 premium MIDs among Coutinho/Modric/Shaq/Eriksen and 3 value MIDs among INIU/Russians/Jedinak to compensate for the 3 premium forwards.
    4) i do not see any point in choosing 6m or 6.5m defenders. From what we have seen so far, chances of bigger teams (like germany/spain/belgium) conceding goals are similar to the mid-level teams (such as Mexico, swiss, uruguay etc). so at least 2 should be 4.5m, 1 or 2 should be 5m and at best 1 can be 5.5m.
    5) dont see any point spending at best 9.5 for both (ideally 9m, 1X 4m and 1X5m)

      I'm using this thought process for my 3rd game Wild Card and moving forward. I'm going a bit further and picking out cheap (> 5.0) Egypt, Tunisia, and Suiss players in hopes of a clean sheet and spend more money on forwards and mids.
