Best Chelsea players to sign on FPL in 2018/19 – Complete Members’ Analysis

Having won the Premier League in 2016/17, Chelsea’s performance statistics for their fifth-placed finish last season were unsurprisingly inferior to their title-winning campaign.

The Blues scored 23 fewer goals than they managed in the previous season and conceded five more.

Several of Antonio Conte’s players did, nevertheless, play a prominent part in many Fantasy managers’ 2017/18 campaign.

Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso were the two highest-scoring defenders in Fantasy Premier League, with Chelsea keeping as many clean sheets (16) as they did in their championship-winning season.

Eden Hazard, without hitting the heights of the previous campaign, and Alvaro Morata both recorded double-digit goal tallies, meanwhile.

Uncertainty over Conte’s future as Chelsea manager continues to dog the club and indeed Fantasy managers’ abilities to assess the Blues’ squad for the coming season, but in Azpilicueta, Alonso and Hazard at least the west London club possess three players who remain at the forefront of our thoughts.

            Yeah that's worth considering. Last season for example Salah + Daniels actually outscored Alonso + Mane and that's without taking captaincy into account.

                  Didn't realize that their mins played were so different. I assume the PPM changes in favor of Salah + Daniels if you take captaincy into account.

          What are people's thoughts on Sokratis? I know Arsenal's opening two games are extremely tough, but after that they are very appealing. Might try get him in and bench him for opening games. Don't like planning transfers before the season starts because there will surely be new players that exceed our expectations (and we will all inevitably try to get in) after the opening gameweek

              I wouldn't bother doing that for the next month mate, even if your toungue is firmly in your cheek (I know you're serious though! haha). It's going to get old very quickly, and there's nothing wrong with letting people choose their own strategy 🙂

                I think it’s worth taking a risk on doubling on 1 premium defence. Not sure which one is best. Good to take early risks to try and get an edge with a wildcard to fix it.

          If I counted well

          Mahrez, De Bruyne, Sterling, David Silva,Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Sane and Fernandinho for the City at the moment while they are chasing Jorginho

                        I think upgrade TAA to Robertson as you mentioned, but keep Alonso.
                        I'd downgrade Eriksen to an Arsenal or Everton mid as Spurs are possibly going to be without key players for the first few GWs and then you can use the rest of the budget to upgrade Masuaku and give yourself more options in midfield in case Jota and Cairney turn out to be disappointments. You can also spread the rest of it into upgrading your defensive placeholders.

                          Good advice re spreading value..it's something I fundamentally struggle with in this game.

                                Perhaps, but on the other hand not having so many of their first team players available or at full fitness will probably be detrimental to their attacking output. Not the worst gamble to take though, Eriksen is a class player.

                            I'd prefer taking a Citeh mid over Aguero as I fancy Pep to continue rotating between the Aguero/Jesus pair again, think I'll only look at the forwards when one gets injured again unfortunately.

                              I went with Kun earlyish last season and he played virtually every match. He is super tempting.

                                Kun started six out of the first 10 games last year with a couple of sub appearances, Jesus actually out started him I think, that Man City forward spot is the golden ticket but it can be super frustrating given the players price range. It could be a very boom or bust type strategy.

                            Been playing with the RMT in the members area and got 335 with this team:

                            Fabianski / Begovic;
                            Yoshida, Cedric, Tomkins, Daniels, 4.0 (wan bissaka/peltier);
                            Sane, Mkhiti, Pogba, Cairney, Hazard;
                            Kane, Firminho, Zaha.

                            A bit too early to ask gtg and I appreciate some may have a world cup hangover but I would welcome opinion.

                                Some easy changes there then: Kane > Aguero & pogba/hazard to similar price mids for a couple of weeks then ft them back in
