Sign up now for next Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup

February 24th 2018. The big winners were Liverpool and Brighton, who each recorded 4-1 victories in their respective triumphs over West Ham and Championship-bound Swansea.

However, in north London, under the banner of Sparta Rotterdam, a team of FFScout luminaries were also celebrating, as they lifted the inaugural Fantasy Football Scout Charity Cup. A real-life football tournament which brought to together over 30 grassroots players from around the country.

The Charity Cup is returning on the afternoon of Saturday 17 November 2018 (during the international break) and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The format will depend on numbers, but with a full 3G 11-a-side pitch (which can also be divided) available to us all afternoon between 2pm and 7pm, we have the capacity and flexibility to structure the day however we wish.

We are extremely fortunate to have secured The Thomas Parmiter Sports Centre in north Watford (WD25 0UU), which is a fabulous facility and is perfectly located just minutes away from Junction 6 of the M1 and Junction 21A of the M25.

For those travelling up from London by train, Garston Station is just 1.5 miles away. We will have the entire venue to ourselves with ample parking and with a number of pubs barely a mile away.

Anyone and everyone is welcome to take part, whatever the level and whether you are fit enough to play all day or just make a cameo appearance. We’ll be organising players into squads so you don’t need to round up a team yourself, although feel free to bring invite a guest player or two to boost the numbers.

All you need to do is email peter.kouwenberg76@gmail.com as soon as possible to confirm your interest and provide your contact details, at which point you’ll be added to the relevant WhatsApp group unless you would prefer to be kept informed by email or text instead.

February’s tournament proved a huge success and raised over £1,000 for Melanoma Research Foundation. This year we hope to raise more even money, involve even more as we donate to men’s mental health charity CALM.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. On average, 12 men take their own life every day – more than three times the number of women.

Two of my uncles committed suicide so I personally think it’s a great cause. CALM works to prevent male suicide by providing services for men who are down or in crisis, and by campaigning for culture change so men feel able to seek help.

To donate please visit our JustGiving page:

All money raised will go directly to the charity, so please give generously.

CALM’s helpline – 0800 58 58 58 – and webchat are open daily 5pm-midnight. It’s free, anonymous and confidential.

For more information about CALM and the impact your donation will have, please read here.

CALM is a charity registered in England and Wales (1110621) and in Scotland (SC044347)

Game plan for next 2 GW's

    2FT + hit

    Salah out... (pause for effect)

    Salah > Richarlison
    Moura > Maddison
    Wilson > Kane (Vardy overlooked??)

Will bank next FT and look to get Liverpool assets in for GW9 onwards.

GTG or Kane not worth it?

    Cheers

Making the same changes and strategy GW9, with the exception of Mendy > Trippier instead of Moura > Maddison (already have him)

      GTG for me.

Teams at that level would probably keep between 8-12 clean sheets a season. Don't think he is any better than many of the 4.5s and not worth a -4 for me.

Climate. Means their pitches aren't boggy in the winter and it isn't so cold.

Genuinely think this leads to a more kick it out approach in England as it is far more difficult to play good football on the ground.

Think I will sell Aubameyang for Kane this week, until he is the starting striker I don't really want him on my team. Yes he has goals/assists but his ceiling is just that, no way he scores a brace/hat-trick from there.

Brighton don't look as bad as Huddersfield this season, and Kane will play the whole match while Kun will probably get 60 minutes. Last season Brighton were tough to break and Kun scored in 60th or 70th minute, and at home he did not score against them. Spurs trashed Huddersfield exactly a year ago away from home 4-0 with Kane scoring twice and adding an assist in first half! So yeah, I'm probably going with Kane(c)

I've given this a lot of thought as well but just kind of hoping Kun can do the business before being subbed. Conversely thinking of doing Aguero to Kane and Lowton to Doherty for a hit but the hit factor puts me off

    0 ft and 4.3 itb

    Hart - Hamer
    Alonso, Robertson, WBissaka, Bennet, Peltier
    Hazard, Mane, Walcott, Fraser, Hogg
    Aguero, Zaha, Wilson

Wilson ---> Kane worth for -4 or not?

    Wildcard is still available.

I dont really like this team tbh. Going forward you need someone to rotate with Hart. Peltier I think is out for a while. Dont like Wally. Prefer rich or Maddison. If you go Wilson to Kane for a hit, would you have to do another hit or do the funds add up?

Agree with the Hart comment. No back-up for him, not just someone to rotate with him, but Dyche may not always have Hart as his No.1 and then you are left without a keeper.

All this small corrections (Peltier, Hogg, Hamer) I will do when I will use wildcard.

For now, I'm planning to go with 12 rotating players in formation 3-4-3 with 2 premium defenders Alonso&Robertson + WBissaka/Bennet for third place. In midfield Hazard, Mane and Fraser, next week Walcott ---> Richarlison. And forwards Aguero, Kane and Zaha.

When I use wildcard (gw 10 maybe) then I would buy another goalkeeper, the fifth playable midfielder etc..

        For next few weeks:
        Hart (Hamer)
        Alonso, Robertson, WBissaka (Bennet, Peltier)
        Hazard, Mane, Richarlison, Fraser (Hogg)
        Aguero, Kane, Zaha

Stanislas back fit, and scored last night.

Howe will this change the Fraser, King, Wilson dynamic?

    Patricio (Foster)
Bennett Trippier Bellerin (Robbo, D Luiz)
Neves Mane Salah Maddison (O. Romeo)
    Aguero King Mitrovic
    1.6 in the bank
This is situation for this gw. I have ft and wildcard not used...
    A) Romeo - Fraser, Fraser in - Neves benched
    B)Neves - Richarlisoon
    C) keep 1 free transfer
D)D luiz - Alonso , Alonso in - Bennet benched
    E) other .... what?

Maverick for me. Got a lot of flak for suggesting AWB over Robbo against Spurs some weeks back but that worked out. Dont see Chelsea keeping a CS so you're hoping for attacking returns

Who do we think will come out on top on the City midfield roulette this weekend?

I'm leaning towards Sterling/Sané, with Silva maybe being benched given he played yesterday and looking forward towards Hoffenhein.

      Sterling Sane

Sterling who costs 11mil, and scored 33pts lies 7th in the overall list of mids. There are another four City mids with 21pts+. Tbh the only one who is worth having for me is maybe Gundog as a fourth mid, if you have good bench cover. The others you can find better value elsewhere.

Quick question, is it Cardiff that have conceded the most headed chances?

Asking for a predictions league, rather the FF
