Captains

Vote in the Captain Poll for FPL Gameweek 12

Liverpool options are expected to dominate the Gameweek 12 captain poll, which you can now cast your vote in.

The Reds are hosting Fulham, a side without a single a clean sheet in the first 11 matches. In that time Slavisa Jokanovic’s men have conceded 29 goals, averaging 2.63 per game.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have scored 12 times in five league matches at Anfield thus far which includes a goalless draw with defending champions Manchester City. Take that fixture out of the equation and Jurgen Klopp’s outfit have averaged three goals per game there against clubs outside the top six in 2018/19.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) will almost certainly be the front-runner in the poll. No Liverpool player has amassed more than his 67 points so far this season and he is also the most popular among Fantasy managers too (35.2%).

Sadio Mané (£9.8m) may not be too far behind the Egyptian with 33.8% ownership and 65 points so far, just two fewer than Salah.

Andrew Robertson (£6.4m) may be considered by some, given that Fulham have gone two favourable matches without a goal.

It will be interesting to see how many look beyond Liverpool’s incredibly appealing fixture.

Manchester City assets such as Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.1m) headlined Gameweek 11 with more big scores at home but this week they host rivals Manchester United.

The Red Devils have conceded six goals in the last four Gameweeks, only five clubs have conceded more in that time, but Fulham have still shipped more than double that since Gameweek 8.

Provided that Eden Hazard (£11.3m) is able to return to 100% following his recent back injury, he may also be considered by some Fantasy managers. Chelsea are at home against Everton, who have averaged 1.8 goals conceded per away match so far. Furthermore, Hazard has registered a goal or an assist in all but one of his home appearances this season.

Possible options among the differentials are Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£9.7m) who face Wolves this week, both with returns across their last two home games.

Harry Kane (£12.4m), fresh from a statistically strong match at Molineux, could be considered as an alternative as Spurs travel to Crystal Palace, while the in-form Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) faces Huddersfield Town.

I think regardless of the result tonight Klopp would've put out a full strength team against Fulham anyway. Need all the points they can get before the main men jet off for AFCON in January.

He wasn’t saved for the weekend, he didn’t travel for political reasons so makes no difference to his place in the team... Klopp won’t be complaicent vs Fulham, he’ll go all out for a big win now before the international break

That's what I thought when he was taken off early in the last CL game. I bought him, captained him and he was benched, while Salah and Mane hauled. I then sold him for a hit. Shaqiri looks like a great, great FPL asset when playing, but certainly not a must-have. Not for one gameweek, not for the season. Not with that gametime.

This is a good result for owners of liverpool assets - massive reaction needed after a defeat like that. Klopp will get right into them from tomorrow on the training ground & they will be under no illusion that the requirement for Sunday is a total annihilation of Fulham. The last thing they need is to hand any more initiative to City in the league.

    Bottomed:
    Currently got this:
    GKP: Fabianski (Hamer).
DEF: Doherty, Robbo, Alonso (AWB, Bennett).
MID: Salah, Hazard, Maddison, Richarlison (Hogg).
    FOR: Arnie, Aguero, Wilson.

Nothing in the bank. Transfer made for this week. Intend to invest in Arsenal gw16, and Mendy gw17. Until then im happy with the team considering no funds, but dont want to waste transfers. Any pointers?

Your team ain’t bad. Pretty template. Mine is basically the same but Fraser for Maddison and Mendy for Bennett. So I’d suggest something similar. What Arsenal are you thinking Lacca?

        • 5 Years

I brought in Maddison for Fraser controversially, so hoping for a haul vs. Burnley. Yeah, may look to double up if they impress over the next few weeks, but may go Martial for the home fixture against Fulham if he keeps it up.

Well keep an eye on his price then, everyone else seems to be getting rid. I thought he got lucky with his early returns so never fancied him, but he must be due some good points soon. Good luck.

Genuinely shared the same opinion but creative stats were too good to turn down with Cardiff, Burnley and Fulham in 5 games. Not so good so far, but hopefully it looks up. Good luck! 🙂

Thoughts? This was my plan but tempted to ship TAA now...

Current midfield is Haz, Salah, Fraser, H-Odoi and Schurlle... Have 0.3 itb but want to do Vardy, H-Odoi to Arni, Rich after IB. Can get a midfielder under 5.5 mil but may be on bench often with AWB and Doherty/Jimenez. Or do i get a playing 4.5 mil e.g. that west ham kid and bank. Hmmm

    A) 4.5 mil and bank
    B) 5.5 mil or so and rotate with wolves players.

There’s no decent midfielders less than £6m so get a £4.5m one. Unless you fancy Deulofeu, he’s got a few fans on here but I’ve never really watched him tbh.

Decided to look a bit closer at goals scored home and away for the big guns, mainly because I wanted to have one more thing to consider when it comes to picking the right captain. Ofc I haven't taken assists, minutes played and all seasons into consideration, but might do that later.

Minimum of 15 league goals in the last season and the current one combined required:

      "The homeboys"

      Aguero: 28G - 21/7 = 75%
      Lacazette: 19G - 13/6 = 68%
      Sterling: 24G - 16/8 = 67%
      Murray: 18G - 12/6 = 67%
      Mane: 16G - 10/ 6 = 63%
      Salah: 37G - 23/14 = 62%
      Aubameyang: 17G - 10/7 = 59%
      Arnautovic: 16G - 9/7 = 56%
      Morata: 16G - 9/7= 56%

      "I'm neutral"
      Lukaku: 20G - 10/10 = 50%

      "The away lads"

      Hazard: 19G - 9/10 = 47%
      Firmino: 17G - 8/9 = 47%
      Kane: 36G - 16/20 = 45%
      Mahrez: 16G - 7/9 = 44%
      Vardy: 23G - 10/13 = 43%

No breaking news, but some points I found interesting:

      1) I knew Aguero scores a lot at home, but 75% of his goals! Perhaps best to avoid captaining him in away games?
      2) Lacazette and Sterling are more "homeboys" than I thought.
      3) Hazard doesn't seem to mind playing away, recognized him as a homeboy before.
      4) Murray made the list!

(Sorry for long post and in case I messed something up)
