Watchlist Update – Morata bursts onto scene as Wolves improve

We have updated the Watchlist ahead of Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 12.

All four sections have been tackled in one article this time around with attention drawn only to the biggest changes.

Make sure you investigate the widget in full on our sidebar to see who we think you should be monitoring for your squads in the coming weeks.

The only mover in the goalkeeper department is Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) who creeps just above Newcastle shot-stopper Martin Dubravka (£5.0m). There are two tricky fixtures for Everton in the next four as they have to travel to Chelsea and Liverpool but home matches against Cardiff and Newcastle have strong clean sheet potential.

Above him, Kasper Schmeichel‘s (£5.0m) form has increased from C to B as Leicester kept their first clean sheet since Gameweek 7 in their recent win at Cardiff City.

Just below the Dane, Rui Patrício (£4.6m) shakes off his Unfavourable Fixtures factor as Wolves schedule eases a little. After a trip to Arsenal this week, the newly-promoted side have Huddersfield (home) and Cardiff (away) as well as a trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 16. However, the Gameweek 15 visit of Chelsea and Gameweek 17 meeting with Bournemouth keep his fixture factor blank for now.

Ben Foster‘s (£4.5m) schedule swings in a different direction as his Favourable Fixtures factor becomes an Unfavourable Fixtures one. Watford’s next four matches are Southampton (away), Liverpool (home), Leicester (away) and Manchester City (home).

Patrício’s Wolves colleague Matt Doherty (£4.9m) is the only rising defender. That fixture swing is what has underpinned him creeping just past Keiran Trippier (£6.3m), who faces Chelsea (home) and Arsenal (away) in two of the next three Gameweeks. To his credit though, Trippier has finally shaken off his Rotation Risk factor having started the last 10 Premier League matches in a row and featuring only as a late substitute in Spurs’ midweek Champions League win over PSV.

Kiko Femenía (£4.2m) remains on the list as a starting £4.2m defender but Watford’s fixtures (mentioned above) push him to the bottom of the pile. The options from Leicester (Chilwell), Everton (Digne) and Newcastle (Yedlin) all look better for the near future. Femenía’s form also drops to B, with two hauls and two blanks in the last four matches.

Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) and Eden Hazard (£11.3m) remain above Raheem Sterling (£11.1m) among midfielders for Gameweek 12, in spite of the Man City man’s 21-point haul against Southampton. He keeps his Rotation Risk factor on account of missing two plum home fixtures to Pep Guardiola’s selection policy earlier this season. Meanwhile, Hazard loses his Injury factor having officially recovered from his back problem.

After switching him to Gylfi Sigurdsson (£7.5m) for Gameweek 11, Richarlison (£6.9m) has returned to the Watchlist. We consider it a peace offering after he ruthlessly punished our decision to remove him a week ago. Fantasy Football Scout members will be able to look at the data behind his return to the Watchlist by reading this article.

James Maddison’s (£7.0m) knee injury sees him drop to eighth place while Ryan Fraser (£6.1m) and Anthony Martial (£7.5m) benefit to occupy sixth and seventh place respectively.

Fulham’s problems in front of goal have seen Andre Schürrle (£5.9m) drop off the end of the list to be replaced by West Ham’s Felipe Anderson (£6.8m). It’s mainly the fixtures that hold him there for now as we’d like to see some consistency before pushing him higher up.

A 13-point haul against Southampton is enough for Sergio Aguero‘s (£11.4m) form to go back to A. Therefore, he holds onto top spot in the forwards’ section.

12 points registered against Burnley sees Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) improve his form to B and he is set for another week in second place with West Ham’s nice run.

The only other change in the forwards’ section sees Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.7m) fall off the bottom in disgrace. His replacement is Álvaro Morata (£8.7m) who has four goals in his last four matches and impressive underlying statistics to back that up too. He comes in just below Harry Kane (£12.4m) but one above Roberto Firmino (£9.2m)

Morning everyone and good luck for the coming GW!

I am contemplating a -4 move and was hoping to get some inputs. Squad below

    Foster (Patricio)
    Robertson Alonson Mendy Doherty (AWB)
Salah (C) Sterling Richarlison (HudsonO, Stephens)
    Aguero (VC) Wilson Arnautovic
    0FT, 0.2 ITB

I blew my 2FTs on Mitro, Murphy -> Arnautovic, HudsonO

I am thinking of bringing Hazard in for Sterling for a hit. I’ve benefited hugely from Raheem over the last couple of weeks but I am worried score ceiling is lower vs Man Utd + he played 90 minutes in CL and was criticised by Pep for the fake penalty. 5 of the last Manchester derbies saw 2 goals or fewer. In the other 5 games, City scored 3 once, 2 three times and 1 once. Overall goals scored in last 10 games was 23, 12 of them for City.

On the other hand, Hazard has is much more involved under Sarri and the game is generally high scoring. 4 of the last 10 games saw 2 goals or fewer but in the other 6, Chelsea scored 6 once, 5 once, 3 twice, 2 once and 1 twice. Overall goals scored in last 10 was 35, 23 for Chelsea. Hazard scored 2 of those 23 goals. I like his prospects but he played longer than hoped vs BATE and may not be back to 100%.

All in all, I like the move but am worried about Hazard’s condition/minutes and the fact he has to outscore Raheem by 4 to work. Gut feeling says don’t do it but what do you think?

Plan would be to sell Salah for sterling back next week.

PS: My review of the stats indicates central defenders and Willian tend to score a lot vs Everton, if people are interested in getting one of those assets.

Interesting, thanks Berbs. De Gea not the same man he was last year but he will step it up for the Derby + Raheem has the habit of disappearing in the big games

The idea is I take sterling out this week for haz and then bring sterling back in for Salah. Think this combo scores more, just not sure it is +4 and next week's transfer worth more 🙂

Sorry, my bad. Yeah that's a good plan. One thing that I picked up from all the meet the managers recently (and something I've only been doing half of the time before) is thin long term. If you think you'd keep Gud for 4-5 GWs, absolutely go for it. Otherwise, maybe not worth it

            NEW
            cry

If he does well for Fulham, Klopp has zero reason to drop him for Fulham. But I agree tbh, Klopp has an obsession with Lallana and co so Shaqiri probably is short term.

      (Repost - bottomed)

Hey guys. So this is how she is looking atm

      Hennesey*
      Alonso Mendy Trippier
      Salah Haz Rich Maddi*
      Aguero Arnie Jimenez

      Subs: Hamer AWB Obiang Peltier
      1 ft 0.2 ITB

      Which move(s) do you prefer?

      A) Maddi -> F. Anderson / Diangana
      B) Hennesey -> Fabianski
      C) Salah + Maddi + Trippier -> Sterling + Mane + TAA -8 (Mane/Hazard (C))
      D) A + B -4
      E) Save FT and consider C next week for a -4 (Salah (C))

C (and B) is the only way to get Sterling in the team without losing Hazard or Aguero. Leaning towards E as WHU play City after this week anyway

Christmas has me worried. A lot.

I just really want Sterling in the team. But not at the expense of Haz or Aguero who are on fire. Imo Salah is the one to leave, but then I got no Pool cover. Hard to fit in Aguero, Sterling, Haz + a pool player without getting a useless bench

You could downgrade Maddison to Kenedy or Brooks, and later plan Salah to Mané, then you have funds to do Obiang to someone decent? Gives you Kenedy as a decent bench option.

Dont think he is worth it. Rather just take the odd 2 points from Obiang off the bench to splash the extra cash elsewhere. My main worry is the none playing Peltier. Obiang not so much

I think Sterling could be benched this game.. not rested.
Yes, he is in great form, but he doesn't historically do well in these types of fixture, and I'd fancy Sane and Mahrez to run at the fullbacks more than Sterling being a no.10

It's anyone's guess. It's unlikely any City attacker is going to start 30 plus games. Just take the rough with the smooth. 🙂

Sterling has come on a lot in every season. He is possibly playing as City's stand out player. A Sterling who failed to perform against Everton doesn't resemble this Sterling. He will be the first name on the team sheet. The game that he may be rested for is West Ham away after the international break.

I have 6.4 to spend on a replacement for Maddison (once I have brought in Arnie for Mitrovic). I already own Fraser and am looking at options such as Lamela, Pereyra, Deulofeu and Barkley.

Any standout options for you in this bracket? Most come with a potential rotation headache. Could a differential (such
